I remember in the '90s that there was a town called Albertville ( not the French Winter Olympics one ) on Sand Mountain, in Alabama, that went through a spate of saucer sightings and cow mutilations and abductions. Being that it was rural Alabama I'm sure that was true.
I mean, what advanced space traveling civilization wouldn't want to go to Sand Mountain?
The El Salvadoran prison thing is just like the kids in cages. There are no records. Records could lead to accountability. That Dad's gone, and there's no way to find him or ever get him back.
As much as I think it's a meaningless stunt, I have Booker's live feed open on YouTube to keep his viewership numbers up and help the forcing function for widespread media coverage. 54k as of 2:30PM EDT
When I'm in some kind of mood, it's just California by Joni Mitchell--I'm back many years to a specific place and summer and people and I always get a good wistful cry.
We messed up our deductions somehow and owe a fuckton of taxes, which thank GOD we can afford, but I just resented having to do it, which makes me mad, because I've always been happy to pay my taxes because damn it, I am a member of my community and I want to pay my share. But I hate that maybe those assholes are just going to take it and give it to a bunch of greedy asshats who hate the people I love.
When I'm in SOME KINDA MOOD I listen to motherhuggin' Sleaford Mods or Ministry, and when I'm in SOME OTHER KINDA MOOD, I listen to Aimee Mann, Sinead O'Connor, and J.T.!
Vandalizing a car can get you threatened with 20 years while betraying state secrets gets you a public embarrassment and sending a citizen of your own country to jail in another country merits a shrug from the likes of Pam Bondi.
When I'm in Some Kinda Mood, I often used to play Black Sheets of Rain by Bob Mould at damage-your-hearing loudness. Now that my hearing is damaged (tinnitus) - not so much. But the theory is still good.
I heard about the Cory Booker thing from my football Discord channel, which is full of people who ought to be the Turnip's base but who are also mostly college educated + veterans and almost all voted for Harris as a "not Trump" vote last November.
When I'm some kind of mood? All Things Must Pass, George Harrison. It's long and full of things to think about, with plenty of space around the lyrics, or without lyrics to let my mind truly wander where it likes.
Also the idea that "Change Is Inevitable" gets me through the toughest times, and makes me take note of the good times, knowing they are fleeting, too.
Is it not true that Habeus Corpus applies even under the Alien Enemies Act? In other words, even if you allow Trump to use that to deport people, he still doesn't get to do it without due process?
The wrong people are in the wrong jail in the wrong country right now. If we get past this and none of these state criminals sees the inside of a cell, then we actually won't have gotten through this at all.
Wonkitty on a road trip, still searching for that roadside attraction with the world’s biggest ball of yarn. https://open.substack.com/pub/martiniambassador/p/road-trip

Learned from the Nazis' mistakes? Or just too lazy?

"he’s going to make Putin go sleep on the couch with JD Vance"
( Wipe it down, first, Pooty. Ew. )
Try "Dig" by Mudvayne.
Honestly, on a day like today, I would cue up "Paralyzed". "When I go! To the show! ..."

They are all cheering him on.
