I hope Jay Obernolte had himself a nice wake-up call. Believe it or not, he's such a moderate Republican he almost looks like a Blue Dog Democrat if you squint your eyes a bit. He even voted with Biden 20% of the time! An 11 point margin sounds like a lot, but when it's based on being kind of a half-assed liberal to reassure the independents, it can evaporate mighty fast.

I'm going to the boucherie to buy beef for bourguignon. I've never cooked beef cheek, but it's the favorite braising cut of a chef I like, so I may go for that. However, it is raining and if it doesn't stop, I'll make brownies instead. I have a lot of Valhrona cocoa powder left from my last chocolate project. Even if it stops raining, I may go with the brownies.

Yep. I need to use a SADD light when I eat breakfast. Depending on work schedule and post I might go all or most of the day without seeing much sun (more rare as a guide, but possible). Sometimes on break I just go hang out near the skylights to wake up a little.
But daffs are so cheerful. And it is a hoot walking through the woods and suddenly seeing a big spread of yaller. I go "OH HEY I know where the site is!"

They should listen to the crocus. The crocus never bloom early or late, but always right on time. When you see crocus, spring is here
Yeah the daffodils at my complex are already trying to sprout. Tulips are usually later in March and our handful of irises tend to be April/May.
