You know, it&#039;s just a funny thing about doors. When more than one person arrives at one at the same time, <i>somebody</i> has to open the fucking thing. Very often, it&#039;s the first person to get there. I don&#039;t recall ever seeing an instance (involving me or not) where somebody got upset because somebody else held the door for them. And I&#039;ve been opening doors for at least 55 years.
Of course, there is a sort of gracious way to get the door, and then there is an ostentatious &quot;where&#039;s-my-thanks?&quot; way.
