Those steel bins are pretty shiny for being as small as they are.

In the little Illinois town where I grew up, we had the usual set of 100,000-bushel capacity corrugated steel grain bins next to the railroad track. One of them was 2/3 full of seed corn.

Our house was two small-town blocks away from the tracks and the bins, and one night the bin with the corn collapsed. The clatter woke up the entire town except me and the folks in the cemetery. The next morning I drove my father to work and was surprised to see a ten-foot-high yellow snowdrift across the road...seed corn.
