On Biden's worst days, he's still more intelligible than Trump on his best. Why do so many people feel like they need to flog his age?
The whole thing is full of echoes of 2016. In that election, the entire journalism establishment punched Clinton for nonsense reasons in order to feel like they very very serious journalists who held both sides accountable. Sure, there was a ton of negative coverage about Trump...but he deserved every drop of it and more. Meanwhile the press flogged Clinton *endlessly* for some call sheet e-mails on her private server and for the Clinton family's successful charity work. What the hell?
More and more, I think people don't have any real sense of what's right and wrong, they just go off of social cues. It's one of the reasons Trump was able to lie and break the law so often...people thought he couldn't have broken the law because he didn't exhibit any shame! I really just can't even sometimes with this country.
