"Flawless"? Everyone on social media agrees that the Harris/Walz campaign made terrible, avoidable errors, which handed the election to Trump. The weird thing is that they all have diametrically opposite opinions as to what those errors were. It seems obvious to many that Harris was too woke. It is also plain as day for many that Harris was too centrist. It is also clear that Harris threw trans people under the bus at the same time she was pandering to trans activism.
They’re a bonus attraction at “our” usual cabin on Lake Superiors North Shore. There are almost always two males and a female. I feel sorry for the females since the males can be jerks.
Porsche 911 GT3 RS v McLaren 750S v Radical SR3 XXR
Radical smokes everything. I've had my SR1 up against a GT3 RS and beat it.
Money quotes:
"this confidence thing comes from knowing it will stick"
"the radical gets easier to drive the harder you drive it - once you trust it and get a feel for it, there’s nothing like it"
That last is the most important. It's nothing like a road car. You have to trust the fucking thing. Once you do, you can ask it to do insane things you'd never even think of asking a road car, and it'll do it. Total mind reprogam.
Best $35K I ever spent. That won't even buy a set of wheels and tires for a GT3RS.
NBC is reporting the electric Ford pickup in NOLA and the Cybertruck in LV were both rented from the same "service". Not rental agency but "service", whatever that means.
2025 - it's likely starting the way it will end. I hope not, but damn, what is the matter with humans, besides being stupid and mean? Guess that's it. Stupid and mean - except for some people. Calling all Wonkers - united to be smart and kind? Why not, man?
We're social animals living in a culture that doesn't believe society exists. To quote Thatcher: "There is no such thing as society: there are individual men and women, and there are families." And that is why society is dysfunctional.
Being part of a social group is all about being confident of the group's intentions, actions, and your ability to affect it. If you live in a society that doesn't believe the group exists, you can't have that confidence in intention. If you're getting hurt, then you can't be confident of the actions. If voting feels pointless, then you lack the ability to affect it. This latter could be massively improved by consent based models where the decisions are designed to give you an option to opt out whenever possible.
Just saw my friend Scruff which cheered me up. I was outside having a smoke (I'm gonna quit again, don't judge me) and he turned up.
He's a cheeky bastard because he'll come up within six feet of me and start yelling at me. He wants a snack. So I go back in the house and get some oyster crackers for him and go throw them in the drive. Then all his crow buddies also turn up and it's a crow party.
Corvids (crows, magpies, ravens, jays, etc. ) are intelligent, smart, cheeky, fascinating animals -they sometimes have funerals -or what appears to humans to be so- to send off their departed. They are amazing mimics as well. I once spent an amusing 5 minutes in Taos, NM looking for a little dog making desperate barking sounds on the ground below a cottonwood tree. It was a beautiful Magpie in the tree, throwing his/her voice and making a fool of me. We, me and Magpie, had a good laugh. The little ghost dog probably did as well.
Scruff...you always get the tab, tho. But if he and his pals come around screaming and yelling pay attention, there may be fuckery afoot. Watched a crow warn a bunch of morning bunnies about a hawk way down the road. They booked it, all safe.
Well, I opened this article on March 24, 2025, and broke my heart all over again.
so good. so good. so good.

I weep with joy at this turn of phrase.
I will never understand why she lost. To THAT.
Yes to all of this!
Wonderful, Evan, I enjoy reading you so much.
That said, I'm terrified about the next four years.

Isn't that just "hindsight is 20/20"?
Both ... sides .....? All in one person?
Good lord, we suck harder than a Kirby.
There's something deeply joyful about watching the hummingbirds.

I'll put this here because it's a kinda boring car post. This is why I drive a Radical.

So, terrorism? or industrial sabotage, like a war between the 100-billionaries?
Turo. It's like AirBnB, but with cars.
The movie is over if you'd like to join us there for OT.
Is biscotti be thare?
I think if you ask nicely, Someone will share their Pop Tarts with you.
Ugh. Death toll now up to 15.
Only hours into the New Year and it's all cocked-up.

I think that explains most of it.

Good ol' Scruff.

I was (and remain) a fan, but that record didn't do much for me when it came out.
Should I give it another chance?
Personally, I'm a big fan. Good production by Gus Dudgeon. He got a great drum sound for Dave Mattacks, I thought.
Here's the band playing "Books Are Burning" from the album live: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yo-JLRwPooI
Re Gus Dudgeon: That guy has his name on some good records.
Dave Mattacks, the guy from Fairport Convention, played drums on this one? I didn't know that.
Yep, he's on the whole album. That's him on the live clip too.
