Wingnuts So Mad George Soros Made Sinclair Spread Conservative Propaganda

On Saturday, Deadspin published a jarring video of anchors from Sinclair Broadcast Group news stations reading a script about “the troubling trend of irresponsible, one sided news stories plaguing our country.” As we all know, Sinclair is a conservative group buying up tons of local news stations and newspapers and infusing them with a conservative, pro-Trump bent. This particular segment was one of Sinclair's "must reads," which means that the anchors from over 200 stations were contractually required to do it.

Like I said, *we* already know about this, for the most part, anyway. But the Right does not. Probably because they do not tend to watch a lot of John Oliver .

After Deadspin published the video, Infowars troll Paul Joseph Watson (the one who is always pathetically trying to claim that being conservative is "punk rock" now) published on his own Twitter feed with literally zero contextual information.

He was swiftly credited with creating the video himself by Gateway Pundit -- home of Stupidest Man On The Internet, Jim Hoft.

And they weren't the only ones who were fooled. The responses to Watson's tweet were filled to the brim with angry Trumpists who were positively outraged that George Soros, his "tallins," and The Liberal Media would do such a thing!

The amazing thing is that there are just as many people in the responses to Watson's tweet pointing out that Sinclair is a conservative company pushing conservative propaganda, and it does not sink in. In fact, many of them responded to this information by outright denying it.

Anyone think there's a hope that after doubling down they'll do a Google search in private?

Over on Gateway Pundit, they were pretty sure Gannett was behind this madness! And the deep state!

This is, perhaps, one of the most spectacular self-owns in the history of self-owns. Unless of course it works for them, which it might because they are immune to rational thought.
