Complicit.

WHEREAS Ivanka Trump is supposed to be some kind of Dad-whisperer, who will use her daughterly brilliance as a moderating influence on her gross dad Donald Trump (who thinks she is BANGIN’ HOT), to keep him from doing ALL the awful things he wants to do; and

WHEREAS Ivanka was all “Climate change is going to be my signature issue in the White House!” and had big exciting meetings with such climate change stars as Al Gore and Leonardo DiCaprio to that end; and

WHEREAS Ivanka reportedly isn’t all that broken up about how her daddy, like the fuckin’ idiot he is, did his part in literally destroying the planet by announcing that he’s pulling the United States out of the Paris Climate Agreement; and

WHEREAS Ivanka and her be-dimpled crimer husband Jared, according to sources Politico spoke to, aren’t too upset because they’re “playing the long game” in the White House; and

WHEREAS Ivanka and Jared’s “long game” is some BULLSHIT; and

WHEREAS Ivanka writes lady books (for ladies!) about how she is such a strong feminist, and she even started a pay-to-play Clinton Foundation, to help the lady entrepreneurs; and

WHEREAS Ivanka hasn’t spoken up about her grab-ass dad’s plan to let employers take contraceptive coverage away from ladies; and

WHEREAS Ivanka came back from her Jewish holiday on Thursday night tweeting bubbly shit about “HAPPY PRIDE TO THE BIG GAY HOMOSEXUALS!” You know, because Ivanka is down with the gays and stuff; and

WHEREAS Ivanka’s dad can’t even seem to be bothered to issue an LGBT Pride Month proclamation, even though he’s issued June proclamations about a host of other things, and even though we were ASSURED before the election that Trump loved the gays SO MUCH; and

WHEREAS Ivanka either really doesn’t care about climate change or women’s issues or gay issues, and is just in it for the fame and the grifting, or she’s just REALLY bad at influencing her father to do jackshit (as The New Republic’s Brian Beutler examines in this piece right here); and

WHEREAS Ivanka seems to be a grifter asshole who stiffs contractors just like her dear old dad; and

WHEREAS Ivanka’s main qualification for having a West Wing job is being a fashion designer; and

WHEREAS Ivanka is really actually not all that good at fashion, if you take the time to look at her uggo clothes;

NOW THEREFORE, WE, YOUR LOYAL WONKETTE, by the authority vested in us by BECAUSE WE SAID SO, do hereby proclaim June 2, 2017, as the day Ivanka Trump should really go fuck herself and stop acting like her nepotism hire in the White House is in any way useful to the human beings of the United States of America.

Amen.

I mean seriously, with a father figure like that, nobody would come out unscathed, or even remotely well adjusted, and all of them I’m sure, would love to see their pops locked behind steel bars..

  • Resistance Fighter Callyson

or she’s just REALLY bad at influencing her father to do jackshit (as The New Republic’s Brian Beutler examines in this piece right here)

    This ought to be good:

It may be Ivanka’s tragic circumstance that she was born to an ethically vacant parent, and that forging a bond with him required making herself in his self-image. But it is our tragic circumstance that the man in question is a moral obscenity, a mental flyspeck, a fraud, and president of the United States. In the context of his presidency, her commitment to their relationship requires her to piss down our backs and tell us it’s raining.

Even if I’m wrong about that, the best we can say about her brief tenure as a political operative is that she’s awful at it, the kind of source whom reporters would normally take pride in disdaining, except that she’s the president’s wealthy, glamorous daughter. But every political reporter will at some point find that such “well-placed” anonymous sources aren’t necessarily sources worth listening to. They lie, or they bullshit, or they think they know more than they do, or they self-deal one news clip at a time. Or some combination thereof. That’s Ivanka. If she weren’t her father’s daughter, he’d call her a loser. For the press to give her more credit than that is an abdication of their professional responsibility to the public.

    Pretty much…

    • Oblios_Cap

Ivanka serves one purpose: to make her father seem palatable to dumbfucks.

Whether it be in real estate deals, or elections, that’s all she’s ever been. She’s a fucking prop, every single attribute about her designed and coached to be disarming

She’s the flash and puff of smoke a magician employees while he steals your watch

    • Yep.
Can’t tell you how many times since Nov she’s been pictured at these BIG MEETINGS! With IMPORTANT PEOPLE!!! and the reporter always mentions how she listened quietly, and then showed a picture of her sitting there, exposed legs facing the Important People.
      Fucking prop

      • Suttree

Because most men are about as smart as tumbleweed when they see some latex blonde.

        • VirtualPapy

Coincidentally I also think she’s Jareds prop…cuz no way that dude is straight.

        • TheBoatDude

Now don’t go spooling up Evan like that. He’s already on the verge of losing control over Jared…

  • Yellerduck

What is that look in her picture supposed to be? I’ve seen it before on people, always in fashion photography or advertising. If you were the photographer, and you were telling the model how to look; i.e. “Give me ‘pouty’, now ‘excited’…”, what would you say to get that look? “Give me…vacant?”

    APPROVED.
Semi off-topic, but who created that shitty logo of hers?

    • Jeffery Campbell

Certainly not anyone with any typographical sense or style. Probably the same team that developed those lovely clothes, shoes and jewelry for her.

  • chazmanr

“WHEREAS Ivanka Trump is supposed to be
some kind of Dad-whisperer, who will use her daughterly brilliance as a
moderating influence on her gross dad Donald Trump”

Why must I continue to point out that the people who said that Ivanka would a moderating force were members of the Trump campaign? The same campaign that has lied about literally everything.

  • calliecallie

I know it’s all bullshit, but just the fact that she would say they’re “playing the long game” demonstrates that quite clearly these people don’t understand how any of this works. God willing the House and/or Senate will flip in 2018, and by 2020 they’ll be done, unless they get hauled off to jail before then, which I sincerely hope is the case.
And if any of them were actually playing “the long game” they would not have pulled out of the Paris Climate Accord. Dumbasses.

    • Jeffery Campbell

Oh, it’s a long game all right. Every grifter worth her salt know how to run the long con.

  • ServantToTheStars

Totes. You’re voting for a person, not a posse. The fucking POTUS shouldn’t need hand-holders.

    • Celtic_Gnome

Ron Reagan, Jr. told of being in a VIP lounge at the Republican National Convention when George W. Bush was nominated. Everyone there was high fiving each other. He said, “But, he’s an idiot.” They all said, “Don’t worry, he’ll have Dick Cheney beside him to keep him from doing anything stupid.”

      • DainBramage

Yeah, weak idiot for President, with an actively evil VP. Thanks, GOP.

    From the stupid Politico article:
“People close to the first daughter and her husband now claim that while the pair wanted the president to stick by the Paris deal and tried to bring voices on all sides of the issue to the table, climate change was never their focus . . .”

Bitches, she said she was going to be the climate czar! Guess she deposed herself.

  • Manders

    Also from Politico:

“Nobody elected Ivanka Trump, she has argued, and the expectation that
she and her husband would single-handedly change her father’s position
away from long-standing Republican orthodoxy is seen internally as unrealistic and unfair.”

Then go the fuck home, lady! Design ugly shoes! Write stupid books! You’re absolutely right that nobody elected you, so you don’t have to be there! You aren’t even required to like your parents, so what the hell are you doing in the White House if you don’t think you can do any good?

    Aaagh. I want a drink and it’s only 12:30.

“Their defenders say the pair is more concerned with their success on
targeted projects, like Kushner’s efforts to engage private-sector CEOs
with government and to improve relations with countries like Canada,
China and Mexico. Ivanka Trump, for her part, has been raising awareness
around women’s economic empowerment and working with minority small
    business owners.”

    – Our relations with Canada and Mexico were just fine until the Oaf of Office showed up. Also, private-sector CEOs are currently peace-ing out of this government because Drumpf dropped out of Paris, so well done there, Jare-Jare. What about all the projects Daddy Dearest assigned to you? Do those take a back-burner to your pet causes?

  • ziggywiggy

What seems crazy is the gay trump supporters/Republicans. The way I explain that is that gay people can be idiots too.

    • elho

Gay Republicans are one-issue political thinkers: they support fiscally conservative federal policy. Like anyone else, gays with lots of money are more likely to favor Republican fiscal ideals. Of course, Trump himself, having switched parties 5 times, isn’t really much of a Republican. Trump thinks debt is a GOOD thing, and most of his plans would result in astronomical deficits.

      • ziggywiggy

I am guessing that most gay Republicans are financially well off white males. So maybe they are not technically idiots, but they must really twist themselves in knots to be selfish and self hating at the same time.

    • Ren Chant

and non-white 45 supporters. too stupid.

Kind of absolutist, isn’t it? Sure, all of the Trumps are huge disappointments as human beings, but it could be worse: Trump could be listening to no pseudo-liberals at all! Better Jared and Ivanka have what little moderating effect they can achieve — Pence will be even worlse.

  • Bitter Scribe

The only thing she has going for her IMO is that she looks great. And for me, even that is mitigated when I think of how much time she must put into getting her hair, makeup, etc. just right. I never entirely trust a woman who puts excessive time and effort into her appearance.

    • natoslug

She looks great. For an exceptionally bland-looking person.

That girl has had so much surgery done. She doesn’t actually look like that. She also does the rich girl thing where she squints her eyes and ovals her mouth to smile (Melania does this too), so as not to create wrinkles.

      • Sharoney

Work on her nose (at least twice), her boobs (much too large for her frame–she looks matronly), her teeth (they originally looked a lot like Eric’s), her chin (and possibly her entire lower jawline) and I think they also reduced the flesh below her lower eyelids that all the Trump Crime Family seem to have inherited.

        • everstar

I actually pity her a bit. There’s a picture of her from the pre-surgery days (I’m guessing) further up-thread, and she looks like someone with a personality. She used to wear bright red lipstick and now she wafts around in taupe and beige with a daring splash of peach.

Ivanka is what she is. It’s the liberal media that ran around theorizing she’d be a moderating influence on her daddy. Why’d they think it? Because she’s pretty and articulate?

    • Internet Hitler

In her book she says it’s okay to let people think things that aren’t true so long as it’s good for you.

    • M.E. Lawrence

Well, yes. Pretty in a woman equals good, right? (Just like rich equals smart in a man.)

      • mdd43

That is how it is in this world, especially for women. If Ivanka hadn’t made herself pretty through the miracle of plastic surgery, would people still think she shoots rainbows out of her ass?

    • kareemachan

Well, I don’t know too many liberals who thought she’d be a moderating influence. In fact, none at all.

    • Greg Singh

They thought it because she’s complicit in everything else.

  • Keely Swan

lol. You left-wing, hate-filled, druidic nutjobs are hilarious. There are many, many very intelligent people/scientists who have openly said they believe “climate change” is a hoax (backed by cooked up numbers) perpetrated by the global elites as an excuse to drive the masses into communism under the pretense of “saving mother earth.” The sun goes through natural heating and cooling cycles. THAT is what’s causing the natural temperature alterations, you fools.

    Meanwhile…

We, the people, are expected to live with less and less, while the elites and their elite friends can consume more and more living in their huge mansions (with astronomical electric consumption), flying on their own private jets (with astronomical pollution, gas, and carbon emissions), etc. The globalists know it’s all bullshit. They just want more power and control over the enslaved, impoverished masses.

Obama and Hillary are globalist puppets for the UN. That’s why they pushed socialism and poverty the past 8 years. The globalists are purposely wrecking all of the world’s economies to drive us into poverty and communism. That is their ultimate plan.

At the UN “Earth Summit” the globalists said the entire world must be driven into poverty and communism to save the earth. The UN claims that overpopulation and industrialization are destroying the earth and causing “climate change” (which is a giant scam), and therefore the only way to save the planet is to de-industrialize the world and drive the masses into poverty to prevent over-consumption of global resources (since poor people consume less). If you don’t believe me, feel free to research something called “Agenda 21.”

Listen, if you want to live like a 3rd-world peasant in an effort to curb your “carbon footprint” and “save mother earth,” by all means, go right ahead. But if you want to convince others of the moral rightness of your position, in hopes they will follow your lead, you must first LIVE BY EXAMPLE. Sell everything you own and go live off the land somewhere in abject poverty, consuming the bare minimum of what you need to survive – but DON’T force that bullshit onto the rest of us, you holier-than-thou, self-righteous hypocrites.

Somebody has been listening to Breitbart and/or Alex Jones.

    • HooverVilles

      ZOMG!
What a load of horse wacky you spewed there.
Lemme see here. One question (of many possible): Trump doubled the charges at Mar a Lago and every time he stays there, the taxpayers (presumably you are one) pay these doubled expenses. Every time! Sooo the question is, are you OK with your tax dollars paying an exhorbitant rate for billionaire Trump every time he stays there?

      • Wojo

        Citation, please.

Initiation fees were raised. That’s a club decision in which members vote.

That’s much different than doubling all the charges.

        • HooverVilles
          • Wojo

Those back up what I said, Hoover. Membership fees are much different than the charges you claimed.

In no way are taxpayers charged by what new members pay in initiation fees at Mar-A-Lago. And not one of your citations made that claim.

          • HooverVilles

Ooops you are right about the initiation fee. Stand corrected. Thanks for pointing that out.
Although I do seem to remember a report about the room rates and service fees being at least double neighboring businesses, but as I can’t find the source right now it will have to remain tentative. Perhaps you have some insight on that.

          • Wojo

I don’t. I used to belong to a country club because I love golf and had just moved south and didn’t otherwise have access to a pool for my children. Once they were grown and my family no longer cared for the pool or dinners there I dropped out of the club.

But if I were a long time member of Mar-A-Lago (an ‘if’ that is absurd for me to even consider personally) and Trump had just won the presidency, I’d want both my membership and my safety somewhat protected. If there was going to be increased demand for membership I’d probably go along with a membership hike. Those can be tricky though.

But I have no idea how the membership prices came about nor the reasoning involved. Those are usually private.

          • It is absolutely a coincidence that the members, of the club Trump owns and gets money from, voted to increase their fee right when he became president.
Totally coincidence. And it was doubled, from 100 to 200k. Which is what doubled means.

          • Wojo

What is your issue or concern with that? Had you been considering joining Mar-A-Lago before Trump ran for president?

Because anything short of that, I can’t for the life of me see why you’d care.

I would think you’d be happy that anyone who wanted to join Trump’s club would have to pay more money.

Am I missing something about you? Do you want Trump’s private clubs to drop their initiation fees fr new members?

          • Yes, there is nothing wrong at all with a sitting president raking in doubled fees for the luxury of having access to the president of the United States.
You are missing something, for sure.

          • Wojo

            — The club has nearly 500 paying members and admits twenty to forty new members a year.[54]

–The primary business occupying the estate is the Mar-a-Lago Club, which operates as resort and hotel for dues-paying members, and rents out estate venues for private events. Membership at the Mar-a-Lago Club required a $200,000 initiation fee up until 2012 when it was lowered to $100,000. Sources close to the resort indicated the cut was in response to reduced demand following the Bernie Madoff scandal which affected many affluent Palm Beach residents.[51] The fee was returned to $200,000 in January 2017 following the election of Donald Trump as president[51] with $14,000 annual dues.[52]

            https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mar-a-Lago

It’s hard for me to understand why you’d care so much about 20 to 40 new members at Mar-A-Lago paying $200,000 initiation fees as opposed to $100,000. Especially when the price was $200,000 up until 2012, when it was lowered to $100,000, and it was just raised back to pre-2012 levels.

Did you complain about Bill and Hillary’s speaking fees going up astronomically when she was universally considered her party’s frontrunner for the Democratic nomination for president? Or is your ire borne simply out of revenge for the criticism she endured from it?

I stopped reading when you made a claim based on science but did not provide a link.

You must have heard of peer review.

I have 3 possible explanations for your behaviour:
      – You forgot to add a link to your sources, that is OK to err is human.
      – You do not want your source to be reviewed because you know it won’t hold up.
      – You don’t consider anyone here your peer, in which case: Fuck you too, buddy!

Wanna share with us which it is?
Or you can propose a fourth option, I am always willing to risk being proven wrong.

I cant wait for your response …At this moment we are peers, I just have a shit load of info for you…..could you show me yours while we are at it or did you google it…..or not even that !!! Ha ha ha….what makes this really funny is that the peer reviews etc that make the state of climate change science a joke are the biggest screamers……Real time data is fact…you at least surmise some sort of prediction with fact. Then you change the numbers to suit the new UN/ new age agenda…It is simple. Look out the window, I have been listening to this for years and fact and real time data tell me that the planet is fine. Yes, agreed a clean up is required but as what happened to Cannabis in the 1920’s I see the same happening now with natural fossil fuels. It is truly an Orwellian story in the making but alas it is happening. The planet is fine, the humans need a wake up call…..you are being led by the nose and the scary thing is most of you know this. So I am not sure what that makes you, Wojo, but methinks calling someone else dumber for seeing a link is probably not in your best interest.

          • Wojo

Cite please that Ivanka runs this Foundation.

          • Heard you the first time!
            http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/330638-ivanka-trump-creating-fund-to-support-female-entrepreneurs-report

It is her foundation but she won’t solicit funds! Except when she goes and actually solicit funds and has someone working for her organizing the entire thing. But no, she is not running the foundation, not at all. Telling that she is pretending it is the world bank (globalist!!!!) running it when it is her hand picked deputy. Weird right?
Saaaayyyyyyy I have some loverly ocean front in Arizona I could sell you cheap!

          • Wojo

            Jen,

Your conspiracy theories notwithstanding, there is not one citation or link provided by you or included in this blog article that confirms Ivanka runs this foundation, that it is ‘her’ foundation, or that it is a pay-to-play foundation.

            Not. One.

          • I see, so, the foundation that she said she came up with, and is a staunch advocate for, and attributed to her, and run by her nod, is not hers because the news articles do not say she runs it with her own manicured hands.
And it is just a coincidence that she met with the Saudis and they contributed 100 mil to her foundation, that is not hers, right before her father cut a fabulous deal for Americans by selling the Saudis helicopters even cheaper- so cheap in fact that the manufacturer is going to have to build them there, in Saudi Arabia, to save on labor costs.
Are you quite sure you do not need any ocean front? Prime land!

          • Wojo

It’s hard to argue with conspiracy theorists. Especially ones who presume the burden of disproving their theories lies with me.

          • *patpatpatpat*
That is ok, Wojo, you can cling to that. Whatever gets you through the night, it’s all right.
Now…about that ocean front; the sand is perfectly pure and there is never ever a hurricane. Act fast! One neat trick and you could have the vacation home of your dreams!

          • Wojo

I haven’t been on a vacation in at least 6 or 7 years. I have a daughter that suffers from daily headaches and migraines that never go away. Travelling isn’t an option for her and my wife and I don’t wish to go without her.

Even still, Palm Beach isn’t my cup of tea. Nor is a vacation home. I’m still trying to downsize from a far too big home purchase I made 13 years ago we made in lieu of buying a vacation home.

          • TX Dept. of Space Tacos

“right before her father cut a fabulous deal for Americans by selling the Saudis helicopters even cheaper- so cheap in fact that the manufacturer is going to have to build them there, in Saudi Arabia, to save on labor costs.”

Not that I’m conspiracy minded, but didn’t they lower hte cost by $100M…the exact amount going to her foundation?

        • Kenneth C. Fingeret

Hello Wojo, No reason to look as she is presenting herself as something she is not so don’t be surprised. If you are surprised I suggest that you think about your mental health and get a check up from the neck up using the ACA. The AHCA will cost more so will save some money if you do it sooner rather than later.

          • Graham Hurlstone-Jones

Lets do the mental health thing with you KennethC. Fingeret ?. You know her personally from your first remark but I bet thats not true, you have this desire to be noticed so you build up a picture in your head of being superior to Ivanka Trump to look impressive in front of your fellow peers. The use of acronyms show that your low self esteem mean you need to show an intelligence you do not possess, You are not mad, you are sick. Is this how you guys debate topics ? This is fun, I won’t learn anything, but you might. What Wojo said is true, you hate someone for purely school playground reasons. You have nothing to offer..

          • Kenneth C. Fingeret

Hello Dr. Graham Hurlstone-Jones, I see you are a hyphen person! Your analysis is so on point. The point on the top of your head! The use of the acronyms are something in general useage. If I used some other ones they would have to be searched for as they are not in common use. I like your projection as one who’s side does that all of the time. Blame the other for what you do!!!!!! I don’t hate her but when one puts them self in the public eye then criticism is to be expected. Since you couldn’t possibly recognize yourself I will say that what you have put in your comment to bogus, right wing BS (i’ll attempt to mansplain’ it to you Bull-Shit as you are a hyphen type of person!!!!

          • TX Dept. of Space Tacos

“The use of acronyms show that your low self esteem mean you need to show an intelligence you do not possess”

            BWAHAHHAHAHAAAA
The folks in the military, legal, finance, engineering and medical fields would find this stupid.

        • Planetary

Jesus, Snowflake, go somewhere else and cry. No one needs to look for reasons to hate scumbags. Ivanka Trump is a scumbag who has nothing going for her except her rich daddy and being moderately attractive. But hey, maybe, just maybe if you keep White Knighting her, she’ll notice and proclaim you her hero, divorce Jared and beg you to marry her.

      • VirginiaLady

Pretty is as pretty does. So yeah she’s pretty…… repulsive.

      • Graham Hurlstone-Jones

She is pretty, full stop….She has taken on a massive responsibility with her father which I find admirable just on patriotic grounds, Surely you lot come first ( I presume you are yankee ? ) and that means all of you. Care for your own first. That is a basic law, there is a reason for that. I think you and Ivanka should sit at the same table, now that would be interesting….

        • TX Dept. of Space Tacos

          “She is pretty, full stop”
          So what?
“She has taken on a massive responsibility with her father which I find admirable just on patriotic grounds”
Do you realize that’s admitting that an unelected and unconfirmed individual with ZERO government, financial, or foreign policy experience, who happens to be the daughter of the president, is in charge of something important?
First: Citation needed. Second: That’s fucked up!

          Surely you lot come first
          Again, CITATION NEEDED

I think you and Ivanka should sit at the same table, now that would be interesting
          CITATION NEEDED

    • Charles Wolf

      Absolutely stunning.”
Oh,,, So you saw that unreleased GOT episode featuring
iVankapire wielding her midnight-black cattle prod?

      (You will never unsee that)

    • LadyLaz

      So? That’s irrelevant.

      • ibwilliamsi

When it comes to women and Wojo, their looks are the only thing that’s relevant.

    • House0fTheBlueLights

You know who’s stunning? Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Shirley Chisholm. Michelle Obama. Janet Yellen. Teresa fucking May. Angela Merkel. My sixth grade math teacher Mrs. Balliette, who taught us that girls are too good at math. The lady next door with the 6 foster kids who feeds the kids on their way home from school in case there’s no food at their homes. My grandmother, who raised 11 kids, including two not her own, as a widow during the depression. The Muslim woman at Target who smiles through the abuse some customers hand her.

Ivanka Trump is pretty. That and 2 bucks will get you a ride on the CTA.

      • Wojo

You’ll get no argument from me on any of that, other than looks are worth nothing. They are in today’s society.

I believe her stunningly good looks are a factor in why she’s hated by the left, too.

I made the statement that I did to test that hypothesis here. I’m not all surprised by the reverberation I received.

        • rofl, yes, she is hated because she is, in your opinion, good looking.
That is precisely why. Not because she is a grifter con artist. Not because she uses slave labor to make her crap products and pretends she is all America First! Not because she sets up bogus foundations so her father can do a little pay for playing. Not because she gloats about her unpaid interns taking second jobs in order to eat. Not because as her father- who she works for!- is trying to literally take food from poor people, she tells people to make champaign Popsicles.
It is just because she is pretty!!!!
So weird that the right only ever thinks pretty and rich to be important.

          • Wojo

rofl, yes, she is hated because she is, in your opinion, good looking.

I didn’t say that. I said they were a factor.

Both that statement and every single word you wrote after that is logical fallacy.

        • CindyinEncinitas

The poor Left only has ugly people. Oh wait… Hollywood? Broadway? Never mind. Concern troll says what again?

          • Wojo

Another attempt at putting words in my mouth.

Seems to be a very common practice here.

          • LadyLaz

Because it demonstrates your comment that the left hates ivanka “because she is pretty” is illogical. The left has pretty women; therefore, they don’t hate ivanka because she is pretty.

We also dislike Anne Coulter and she isn’t pretty.

We also dislike Handle. Come back and tell me it’s because she’s pretty.

And frankly, commenting on an article about why the ACTIONS ivanka takes to excuse them by saying “she’s pretty!” is inane.

If you think she’s great? Defend her actions. Her looks are actually irrelevant. It doesn’t matter if she’s a goddess, if she does evil.

        • merty

Her stunningly good looks were purchased by daddy. So good for her. Why this liberal dislikes Ivanka: she has no integrity but pretends to, she is profiting off her father’s status (what’s new, though?). If she’s acting as a caretaker because of her father’s failing health (some people theorize) she should have spoken up or talked him out of running for prez. He’s physically and mentally unfit for the job. But I’m guessing she doesn’t have that much influence on him.

          • Wojo

            All baseless assertions and theory.

Makes arguing pointless. To each his or her own.

        • House0fTheBlueLights

You can go fuck yourself too. Also? blocked.

          • Wojo

I’m sorry you’re doing that. Greatly will I miss all our late night discussions on the meaning of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Godspeed to you, HouseOfTheBlueLights. May you live long and prosper. And maybe in the next life we shall meet again.

      • Amy Fulton

Theresa May?!? She’s a cold, heartless Tory that ONLY cares about the upper class. She’s not only unattractive physically, but that ugliness goes straight down to the bone. She’s as bad as the Republicans are here.

        • rebeccagavin

However you or I may feel about her politics, she did manage to become PM of GB. Unless you are going to argue she screwed her way to the top as a way to denigrate her accomplishment.

      • Graham Hurlstone-Jones

well thats not a normal reaction, but it does open up the doors to your mind…fascinating. We all have stories to tell mate but come on……thats just hysterical. She is a very pretty woman, as are all the others you have mentioned……pretty…enjoy.

        • House0fTheBlueLights

I don’t fucking care what she looks like, she’s not a fucking model so how is it relevant, or right she’s there to be Daddy’s arm candy and enabler. We clearly have different standards about what constitutes appropriate standards for people in critical public positions. Oh also? FUCK YOU AND YOUR PATRIARCHAL BULLSHIT.

    • Sure, if you like plastic surgery!

      • CripesAmighty

Hey, it says so, in pages 3 and 12 of the catalog, ‘chins’ and ‘tits’.

        • Wajo is concerned!!!! About the chins and tits!!!!!

      • Wojo

I’m not sure how that warranted an exclamation mark, but plastic surgery doesn’t mean someone can’t be gorgeous.

        • I like exclamation marks! They are exciting! And sure, you go with that!

          • Wojo

Cut out all these exclamation points. An exclamation point is like laughing at your own joke.

            — F. Scott Fitzgerald

          • Ol’ Scott should have laughed more!

          • Wojo

I think he was when he wrote that.

          • Jeff Putterman

I’m laughing at you, you wojo hogo piglet asshole.

          • I laugh at myself at least five times a day ^.^ Those who cannot laugh at themselves are missing out on the joke

          • Wojo

I’m glad I could bring you happiness.

    • Petee

      nobody cares.

    • Jeff Putterman

And you must be fucking blind, and dumb too.

      • Wojo

        Neither.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

        • Said the poster who proceeded to argue with everyone who disagreed with his declarative posting.

          • Wojo

No argument with their opinions as to her being good looking or not good looking.

You’re wrong, Jen. I like discussing things you and I disagree on but you should at least be truthful.

        • Jenny

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder… So does that mean you have shit in your eye, or what?

    • chickadee

With the amount of money her father has spent and the number of procedures she has undergone, she better be; she has the best face and chest money can buy (but still no chin).

    • greyXstar

And supremely ugly on the inside so…

  • Susan Stelljes

She is a plastic Barbie doll and there is something wrong with you if you think that is banging hot.

    • Petee

      i don’t think that.
      i guess I’m not a “real man”.

      • LadyLaz

If you are allowed to have opinions on whether ivanka is hot (I do), other people are allowed to have opinions she isn’t.

And I don’t see anywhere she said you weren’t a real man. Insecurity much.

        • Petee

          what?

    • Goonie

Why attack her looks? Do you think people would find you more attractive? 🤔

    • plantguy

Actually it’s her FATHER who thinks she’s bangin’ hot. He has mentioned wanting to date her if only she wasn’t, like his daughter and all.

  • Nicola Andrews

She has her father’s mouth. Once you see it you can’t unsee it.

  • splashy79
  • Thanks for speaking the truth

  • Robert Stout

Wow…such hate. Does Wonkette work itself up to a frenzy before sitting down at the keyboard?
Also, as an aside, this site proclaims itself to be ad-free, then promptly plasters half the page with ads for itself. That’s actually quite funny, to be honest.

    • LadyLaz

      1. I don’t see any ads on mine;

      2. I know, people like Evan who are getting stomped on by this administration, why would they be upset? I mean so what that the GOP wants to pass “Freedom of Religion” Bills to legalize discrimination against LGBTQ…. why would that upset a gay man. Nah, he should just be flowers and rainbows, like Milo; and

      3. I note you don’t actually criticize the substance of his post. The facts – with links – to confirm the basis of his opinions. You are just critiquing that he chooses to find that stuff deplorable. Sorry, but some things really are deplorable.

But you know, I’m sure you cluck at Breitbart too.

      • Oh worse, he is an infowars guy ^.^

        • C4TWOMAN

          Orly?
          *looks for lulz on profile*

      • Robert Stout

        1. Maybe you’re a subscriber? I dunno, only went there the once and literally 40% of the page is covered with ads for itself.

        2. Bullshit. No bill in Congress legalizes discrimination against LGBTQ. You just flavor your hate by reading more into things than you need to. Remember, William of Ockham’s suggestion: “One not needs multiply beyond necessity.” I’d suggest that you stop listening to talking points and reading posts like this. Start using your own brain. It’s a wonderful liberating experience when you can make up your own mind instead of having it made up for you.

        3. Yeah, I did criticize the content of his post. I just did it in two words: “…such hate”. The article(?) is not a meaningful, insightful post that examines a particular situation or event, it’s a rant. Phrases like “…like the fuckin’ idiot he is…”, “..seems to be a grifter asshole…” and even the title of the piece: “Oh Go Fuck Yourself…” scream bias and hatred.

And finally 4. I don’t go to Breitbart very often either, unless it’s a link from a story I’m reading elsewhere (which is exactly how I got to this f’ed up website). I may be conservative, but I don’t sit there and drool while mindlessly repeating the RNC talking points.

        • LadyLaz

          1. I am not a subscriber. Maybe you need to update your virus scan. I just pulled the Wonkette again via chrome.

          2. https://www.google.com/amp/amp.usatoday.com/story/101250064/

          https://www.aclu.org/other/past-anti-lgbt-religious-exemption-legislation-across-country

You know for someone who just concern trolled Evan over hate because of his profane language, it’s quite interesting how fast you resort to the same tactics. My mind, darling, is quite open and still capable of rational thought. And as for your “bullshit,” please see above…

Requiring those who open their business to the public to serve all members of the public doesn’t mean I hate religious people. Considering how loudly certain members of the Christian faith squeal over “war on Christmas” because Starbucks used red cups, I wonder how loudly you’d cry if a baker said, sorry don’t serve christians here. I mean, if red cups hurts fee fees…

          4. Considering your insult that I needed to open my mind I will simply remind you that occasionally checking infowars and Fox News rather than breitbart is not really reading diverse opinions.

          • Robert Stout

Wow. I use one well-deserved “bullshit” and suddenly i’m in the same category as “Go Fuck Yourself.” Your standards must be very low.

I’ll jump to the end with your question about how hurt I’d be if I was a Christian (I guess I am, loosely, but I don’t believe in organized religion) and was refused service because of it. I know what my reaction would be: I’d go somewhere else. Yeah, I’d think that the proprietor was an asshat, but there’d be no lawsuits, no organized protests, no trying to raise a screaming mob to shut them down. It’s their business, and there’s plenty of them out there. Eventually, the business would suffer and they’d either have to change their business plan or go out of business with an attitude described. It’s no sweat off my nose.

About the RFRA, it was already declared unconstitutional at the state level. It’s just for the feds. So, it won’t even protect your theoretical shopowner. And, to top it off, you blame Trump for it when in reality it was passed by Congress and signed into law by Bill Clinton, and it was supported by the likes of the ACLU. All it does, basically, is to prevent people’s religious beliefs and practices from being trampled into the ground. Well, within reason, of course. As several people and groups found it, it doesn’t protect them from some things like smoking peyote or refusing to pay taxes. If faced with someone trying to use the RFRA to trample the rights of a LGBTQN/B, it won’t protect them either.

And, please, don’t call me “darling”. Neither owes the other money and we’re not sleeping together. “Bob” will do just fine.

    • Concerned Robert is concerned!
      Also:
“You must have missed the full conversation on the instance you’re referring to. He started out by saying, “They let you….” Not sexual assault if “they let you”. It’s immoral, and unethical, but that’s consent. On your second point, sneaking a peek at a unclad woman does not equate with gang-raping someone. C’mon, just admit it….you’re on here to bash Trump, not contribute to the conversation. You’re being a good little drone and following the Alinsky playbook. (love that copy and paste)”

Anyone who dismisses sexual assault because it is not a gang rape is not someone anyone needs to take advice from, for any reason, ever. Quite funny, to be honest.

      • C4TWOMAN

Hmmm..imma assuming Robbie Stout did an ‘edit comment back track two step’…..cuz now he’s only bitching about “hate” and ads…

  • Goonie

Trump is the worst, but it’s bullshit to think one way or the other about what goes on behind closed doors with Ivanka. People need to remove the crystal ball yoni eggs from their asses.

You don’t know her motives or frustration. Can any of you control your parents? She might be trying to guide her dad to a small form of decency and failing at it. She also might be working with him to keep an eye on him. She doesn’t remind me of someone that wants to be in politics and can be very well reluctant.

    • Kurt Weil

Thank god you’re here to defend Ivanka, because she’s clearly the victim.

      • Goonie

If that’s how you process information, you’re a victim of your own stupidity.

Also do you actually think that would work?

        • MassiveQuantitiesofPie

No, it wouldn’t. That’s why if she had a shred of decency, she never would’ve gone down there. She’s in the White House to steal money and make corrupt deals with the Chinese to make more dirty money over there.

Pathetic life? You understand being an anon on the internet hating on some wealthy pretty girl for her father’s issues doesn’t make you look any more interesting, yeah?

        • Gil

I feel sorry for her..I’m not ” hating on her “…She’s a victim and has no idea …

          • Goonie

            I’ll give you that. 👍

          • UpstateNYObserver

I think she very much has an idea. We’re looking at what may be a multi-generational criminal enterprise. She and her brothers are simple behaving as they were raised to behave and from outwards appearances, they all take to it like ducks to water. There are no innocents here, just co-conspirators and beneficiaries of the enterprise.

    • TX Dept. of Space Tacos

she also might be complicit in this fucking over of america and its people….there’s far more evidence of that.

    • MassiveQuantitiesofPie

She’s complicit in corruption, money laundering, and treason. I will judge the hell out of her for that. My dad’s a right wing wackjob. If he ran for President, I wouldn’t be complicit. If he won, I wouldn’t sit back as he destroyed my country and held my tongue because his “win” meant I could steal a lot of money. She’s as bad as her father with a prettier face.

  • Rivegauche610

Wouldn’t surprise me in the least if she was letting shitgibbon bang her in return for money and shiny objects.

    • 🛶🗣️ Mr Canoehead 🛶🗣️

That WOULD surprise me. There are limits, for her at least.

      • UpstateNYObserver

I’m not entirely sure that anyone in the Trump family has limits on what they’ll do for a fatter bank account.

  • chickadee

No, The Trump’s are not playing a long 3D chess game, they are simply leaching off the American people. That creepy Pinocchio (wood turned to flesh) looking Jared, with that tight plastic smile, will likely end up in Jail.

“creepy Pinocchio wood turned to flesh looking…”

Multiple upfists. I don’t think this descriptive can be topped.

  • Merry Gray

She’s got ….NOTHING. Have you noticed how strange and artificial her voice is??? I wish some shrink would break that inflection down for us …It’s like nothing I ever heard before. I think it reflects something deep in her personality.

    • chickadee

All the Trump offspring suffer from an extreme overbite, and Ivanka’s way of dealing with it is to affect that slow, whispery voice that makes you think she’s deep and shit, when really she is just battling to get her upper lip over her upper teeth.

    • Gil

Her larynx is plastic like the rest of her…Surprised her voice is not more artificial-sounding than it is, frankly…

    • resisting and persisting

Have you noticed how strange and artificial her FACE is? She may well be a Stepford wife, or completely animatronic. Ditto for her hubby, they are both pod people.

God I hope so. But Democrats have developed the ability to pull defeat from the jaws of victory to olympic proportions. They better fucking get the “A” game on, like NOW.

        • SnarkON

I honestly don’t understand why you and the rest of the Trump fan club is so happy with his win. It’s as if your entire reason for existing is to get back at the cool kids who didn’t like you in middle school, and you view Trump’s presidency as some kind of revenge. Meanwhile it doesn’t occur to you that 1. The cool kids are still cooler than you. 2. Trump is going to take everything you have and 3. We cool kids will actually end up financially better off than you despite Trump, because he is going to set up the tax system that way. Finally, although we may think you’re an idiot, we still would like you to have health insurance.

  • cmyn

I’m down with this article in general, but must we specifically mention that she came back from a Jewish holiday? There’s plenty to criticize Ivanka for, but being Jewish isn’t one of them, and that wording is almost implying that being Jewish is some kind of privilege, which just feeds into classic anti-semitic conspiracy theories about the Jews owning the world and whatever.

    • chickadee

I read this more as a suggestion that her conversion to Judaism is about as sincere as everything else in her vapid life and that had she been a convert to Christianity, it would have been written and written the same.

      • Sure. The writer would *totally* have written “Christian holiday” without specifying which one. #Sarcasm

If people want to challenge the sincerity of Christians, they refer to actual things Jesus said and did, they don’t make snide references to unspecified “Christian holidays”.

        • Vienna Woods

Oh I don’t know, around these parts we tend to get very snide about Xmas, etc, and supposed wars on said holidays. And why assume that Evan wouldn’t make a non-specific reference to a Christian holiday? There’s not a whole lot of antisemitism (which is what I assume you’re accusing Evan of) here on Wonkette, which may just have something to do with the fact that our benevolent Editrix is, herself, in fact, Jewish.

Why Ivanka and Jared were absent was a part of the story.

ITS NOT A CONTROL THING..SHE CONVERTED BECAUSE SHE WANTED TO AND BELIEVES IN THE BEAUTY OF THE RELIGION. NOBODY TWISTED HER ARM AND ONCE SOMEONE CONVERTS IT IS NOT REFERRED TO AS A CONVERSION ANYMORE. SHE IS AN ORTHODOX JEWISH WOMAN AND NOT A CONVERT

          • Alan Acacia

Dear Leftykook. this opinion from a friend on the left: your comment does little to advance the argument.(which is my argument too) that Ivanka Trump is no role model, that it’s right that she be mocked, etc. I’m down with that. I just wish there was less hatred in your comment. Let us laugh at Ivanka and be angry with her. Fine. But let’s never forget that she’s a human being. That doesn’t excuse her at all. At the same time, there is no need to dehumanize her. Wild hatred and curses won’t make the mockery of her any more effective.

          • Leftykook

The people she represents and serves are the worst examples of humanity. Her father, all his associates, and her husband are criminals and traitors, they are intent on destroying our country and our constitution, if they aren’t stopped, and SOON, there is going to be widespread bloodshed. Disgusting Trump apparently just chose fascist thug Richard Spencer to be our Secretary of the Navy, as unacceptable a choice as he could manage. Like I said, I don’t care what they say, I watch what they do, and it’s beyond mere disagreement.
We’re not talking about mere political partisanship, these people are CRIMINALS, they ALL belong in PRISON.
God damn right I hate a bunch of vicious scumbags who want to turn our beloved country into the second coming of Adolf Hitler.
This is the MOST DANGEROUS COUNTRY IN THE WORLD. We have the the most powerful military forces in the entire world, our country threatens the peace and safety of everyone else in the world with this cabal of MONSTERS in charge, and they aren’t going to just take it.

          • Alan Acacia

Now you’re talking sense. Bad examples of humanity. Criminals and worse. Most powerful military/most dangerous nation. I know why you’re mad! They deserve prison!
The words ‘scumbag’ and ‘monster’ don’t add any new information about Trump and gang, however, other than to let us know how much you don’t like them.
Scumbags and monsters are not humans. Trump is a bad example of humanity, but he and the people who voted for him are human beings, by which I mean they have hopes, fears and neuroses just like you and I. It’s fine to hate what they do, and to interfere with their actions. They stink! We don’t need to see them as monsters in order to oppose their plans.
ps: in place of ‘vile fuckery’ could I suggest ‘widespread destruction’?

          • MassiveQuantitiesofPie

Go to a Trump rally and tell me they’re human. Many are borderline at best. When they choose to behave like predatory monsters, why shouldn’t they be treated like monsters?

          • MassiveQuantitiesofPie

Bullshit. She phony converted to get her hands on what she thought was Jared’s money. This phenomenon is insanely common in NYC. Jared also switched sects to make better money deals, that’s how much his faith means to him. But Jared’s as deep in debt as her daddy is. Thus this sick POTUS scam was born out of a desperate desire to get billions from Russia, China, and Saudi Arabia for their precious companies and brands. Oh, and to steal some from American taxpayers for good measure.

  • KeepReal

Not a big fan of Ivanka and definately can’t stand her dad, but this article (or whatever it is) is mostly stupid. (“Take a look at her uggo clothes.” Oh, please.) It’s basically blaming her for not having the influence with dad that she wants or others think she should. That’s more on dad than on her.

    • BaronMatrix

      I don’t defend people I’m not a big fan of…

      • KeepReal

I defend truth, honesty, and decent argument. Wherever any given person, or subject, ends up after that is of less concern than the principles. If Ivanka “looks better or worse” as a result is of little consequence.

    • major_asshole

Actually, the article is calling her a vapid sack of stupid who has no business “working” at the White House or doing anything but being the air-headed sociality “her” (husband’s blood) money allows.

And her clothes are uggo, too. Much like anything with the name Trump on it.

      • RED_ARIEL

WTF DOES HUSBAND’S BLOOD MONEY MEAN?

        • HorseChestnut

“Blood money” is an idiom. It means that Jared Kushner’s (Ivanka Trump’s husband) wealth was not acquired lawfully or ethically.

        • major_asshole

It means Kushner is an opportunistic, rat-fucking slumlord whose money is built on the suffering of others.

          • Leftykook

Don’t forget stealing money meant for refurbishing low-income housing.

If she is incapable of doing the job she should recognize the fact and leave to make room for someone who is capable. As a high ranking government official she owes it to the country. Since she is not performing her job, there are several possibilities 1) She is too dumb to recognize the fact that she is a failure. 2) She is in it for the grift and doesn’t care 3) AOT,K

    • theCryptofishist

She’s been positioned to appeal to people who don’t mesh with her father’s style, broadening his appeal because “Ivanka will soften his brash bullshiteetcblabblahblabyaddayadda” and that, rather than any actual influence, is why we blame her.

    • MassiveQuantitiesofPie

No, we’re blaming her for being a lying, thieving monster in her own right. That’s her choice.

  • Atticus Rex

Such hatred and bitterness erodes destroys the moment and erodes one’s health over time… It makes me happy knowing this is happening to you, hurstie wurstie ;)

So that’s why the Republican Party put a soulless lying grifter in the White House, their mental health has finally eroded from all their bitterness and hatred of a successful president who cleaned up the mess left by the last knuckle dragging republican. • MassiveQuantitiesofPie

If that’s the case, they’re delusional. Everyone who isn’t a Trump supporter hates her and many who are don’t like her. She couldn’t win 2% of the vote unless Vlad stole the whole thing for her.

Obvious to anyone watching. Even the little boats they’re floating on this, are being immediately sunk. But yes, they’re deeply delusional.

  • shawnanshutz

The Paris climate agreement was a horrible situation for the US. Why do you think that all foreign leaders, were so butt hurt about us pulling out? Because it was a great deal for them we would be shilling out the majority of the cost while everyone else was just using our money on anything, there were no checks and balances to make sure they were actually spending our money on climate change. The US and perhaps Europe would be held to a higher standard while all the other countries could do whatever they want with no oversite.

    • SeekingCovfefeBarbie

Since you didn’t quote the section of the accord that supports your assertion, we are free to ignore it.

      • S A

Here are my sources is there anything else I can for you since you refuse to do the research yourself? the US would have to give a $100 billion a year to developing countries to help them become greenhouse efficient. Yet there was no oversight on what they did with that money. The actual wording is: “The commitment refers to the pre-existing plan to provide US$100 billion a year in aid to developing countries for actions on climate change adaptation and mitigation.” Here read about it yourself. http://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-35084374

        • TX Dept. of Space Tacos

          you know…

        • MassiveQuantitiesofPie

Yes, the fund would be worth 100 billion US dollars per year, but not all of that is coming from the US. Just because the fund is calculated in US dollars doesn’t mean we’re the only ones who would pay into it. Do you understand that? The accord very specifically calls for all rich nations to pay into it the fund for developing nations that totals $100 billion US dollars. Seriously, read your own article, it doesn’t say what you think it does.

          • S A

yes i am sorry I mistyped. I think that I was stating how much the US was paying but then switched mid thought to the total. My bad. I dont even mine that the US is paying more we are the major polluters. But my point is still valid that there will be no oversight on where the money goes. Here think about it this way. Lets say I am your neighbor and my yard is trashed and its bringing down your house value and everyone in the neighborhood so you get everyone together and to help me out by giving me money to clean my yard. You give me $30 and the other 100 neighbors give me 70 cents each. Thats a total of $100 I turn around and hire one guy for 1 hour to clean my yard and pay him $10 and pocket the other $90 and say hey I need more money to clean my yard. Are you going to give it to me? Well thats exactly what the Paris accord was.
So why did we pull out?
Trump said wait what about this. We give $10 and England give $7 and Germany $7 and Spain $6 and everyone else $1 and we want you to prove that you are using this money for cleaning up green house gases. And Paris said NOPE you pay your $30 so we only have to pay 70 cents, thats what Obama agreed to. But now they all have to pay $2 each and they are pissed. And like California all that money is going to go into the politicians pockets.

    • Finnabar87

The Paris Climate Agreement did not involve US coin.

It wouldn’t have been ‘our money’.

Each country set their own goals, and it was also non binding.

      • S A

I challenge you to read the agreement yourself but i see the problem is This really what you guys thought? this was a free for all everyone paid for their own? That’s not true at all the US would have to give a $100 billion a year to developing countries to help them become greenhouse efficient. Yet there was no oversight on what they did with that money. • MassiveQuantitiesofPie

Wrong. Read the article yourself. All the rich countries in the world would pay into the $100 billion fund for developing nations. The fund’s amount would be set in US dollars, but the US wouldn’t pay all of it. That’s just a bald-faced lie

    • The Librarian

Yes, it was horrible, because global warming leads to more wars, more starvation, more droughts, more flooding…….what was your incredibly non-thinking point again?

        • MassiveQuantitiesofPie

The link doesn’t say what you’re pretending it does. The $100 billion in US dollars in the fund for developing nations is not coming solely from the US. It’s a fund paid into by ALL rich nations. Do you think the US is supposed to pay all of it just because the amount is gauged in US dollars?

    • Bre’Anna Williams

Brah.. We are #2 in polluting the Earth. It’s only fair that we pay more.

      • S A

Yeah I am fine with that but the problem is there is no oversight as to what the so called developing countries do with our money. They can pocket it for all we know. We nee some guarantee, that they are actually going to use it for its intended purpose.

        • Bre’Anna Williams

Agreed there needs to be an account of where resources are being used and we must see an actual improvement (imo)

          • S A

            Agreed

    • TX Dept. of Space Tacos

have you read the thing? Or any reputable analysis of it?
This sounds like talking points to me.

      • S A

Yes I have read it. I suggest you do the same look at my replies to other people on this thread and you will see my sources they wont allow me to repost them mutiple times. The actual wording is: “The commitment refers to the pre-existing plan to provide US$100 billion a year in aid to developing countries for actions on climate change adaptation and mitigation.”

    • HorseChestnut

You’re confusing “butthurt” with “disgusted and disappointed.”

      • S A

They are mad because now they have to give our portion of the money and it was disproportionate and there was no one to tell them how to spend it. Look at my other replies

        • TX Dept. of Space Tacos

          WRONG.

          • S A

Wow nice retort would you care to back that up with a reference or source. I have. Look at my other replies you will see references and sources that back up what I am saying. You cant just say wrong and be right I want proof, did you even read the paris agreement?

    • Rose

Were you born idiot? Is in your family this stupidity?

      • S A

What makes me stupid the fact that I actually read the accord and know they want us to provide billions over the next few years and there is no oversight as to how the countries use the money? See my other replies for proof.

        • TX Dept. of Space Tacos

no, you apparently read a BBC article.

          • TX Dept. of Space Tacos

you know what, you’re the one making the claim – why don’t YOU go through the treaty and show me where/how it lacks oversight.

I’m not going to do your work when you’re the one making a claim that’s contradicted by people who know shit.

            Make your case.

So a) I made the assertion you are denying it therefor it is your obligation to prove me wrong. B) I cannot show you something that isnt there. Can cant show you where it says there no oversight. That it up to you to show me where it says there is oversight because its not there. and C) I did respond to it but appearently Wonkette didnt like it and didnt post it so here it is again. Read specifically articles 5 and 6. It says things like

Parties recognize that some Parties choose to pursue voluntary cooperation in the implementation of their nationally determined contributions to allow for higher ambition in their mitigation and adaptation actions and to promote
sustainable development and environmental integrity. Then it says things like countries are “encouraged” and countries “Should” There is no part that says if you dont we want the money back, or we will be sending out investigators to verify. So they can pretty much do whatever they want with the money and we just have to keep paying. The only part in there that says you must do something is when it says you MUST CONTRIBUTE TO the fund. And thats talking to us and not developing countries. Ok so I am sure you will just say you read “encouraged” wrong it actually means they have too or we are going to take the money back. Because your mind is set even with out reading it you made up your mind and there is no changing it. You hate Trump and everything he does has to be wrong just because of the hatred in your heart. So respond what you want im done, unless you actually want to listen to the information instead of refute it with out actually listening to the other side.

See the above reply I cannot reply the same way twice.

      • S A

Why am I dumb? Have you actually read the Paris accord? here is the exact wording “The commitment refers to the pre-existing plan to provide US$100 billion a year in aid to developing countries for actions on climate change adaptation and mitigation.” Yet there is no authority forcing the people to actually spend that money on the intended purpose they can just pocket it for all we know. Here read about it yourself. http://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-35084374

        • Resistance Fighter Callyson

          1. Absolutely nothing in the BBC link says anything about the developing countries abusing the aid they would get: I’m not sure why you even linked to it. In fact, China and India are overperforming when it comes to reducing emissions
(BTW, the $100M is not a mandate, which some would have preferred.

And speaking of non-mandates, as the New Yorker article points out, the reason the targets are not mandatory is that the Copenhagen talks broke down over that issue, and the Paris negotiators decided some progress was better than none. Sounds pretty smart to me TYVM.

          • S A

You are right, even though the agreement says they are only encouraged (article 6.1) to use the money for the intended purpose and we all know that poor developing govts are honest and going to use the money for the right thing even when they dont have too. And if you actually read the Paris agreement it actually says that the contribution offered by Obama is actually mandatory. Thats actually the only place in the agreement that says SHALL. (article 4.2) I wish you guys would actually read the agreement before commenting on it. I really dont know where you get your info from.

    • S A

but i see the problem is This really what you guys thought? this was a free for all everyone paid for their own? That’s not true at all the US would have to give a $100 billion in the next few years to developing countries to help them become greenhouse efficient.

You’re either lying or have been deceived.

First of all the US would not have given $100B, that amount would have included funds from other developed countries:

“Developed country Parties shall provide financial resources to assist developing country Parties with respect to both mitigation and adaptation in continuation of their existing obligations under the Convention.”
        https://treaties.un.org/doc/Treaties/2016/02/20160215%2006-03%20PM/Ch_XXVII-7-d.pdf

Second, in regards to oversight, according to your own story:
“The agreement is partly legally binding and partly voluntary.”
“To review progress every five years”
” There is money for poor countries to adapt, there is a strong review mechanism to increase ambition over time.”
there’s even more at the link.

So yeah, read the treaty instead of the BBC.

        • S A

WRONG, pretty good retort isnt it?

          • TX Dept. of Space Tacos

no, i saw that bullshit bbc article you kept sharing that contradicted everything you said.

        • S A

I have read the treaty the whole thing no just the parts that show a light on it. Let me dumb it down for you so you can understand a bit better.

And that is the truth if you actually read the thing which no one on this site seems to have done you will see for yourself.

          • TX Dept. of Space Tacos

well, at least I’m glad you now realize it wasn’t hte U.S. giving $100B.

          • S A

Oh no I always knew that, I think I change my thought process mid way through the paragraph and didnt realize how it joined up I meant $100b US Dollars and was going to show the % later but forgot to finish my thought. Anyways as of me typing this you realize that Russia, India, and China have put $0 into the fund and we have already put in $1b. And who knows if they will put in. There is nothing forcing them to do so. That is my issue with the agreement.

  • Kyna Leski

Ivanka Trump is NOT a designer. I wish EVERYONE would stop crediting her for a talent she does not have and for work she did not and does not do. Design is a skill that takes training, talent, and experience. Her financial ability to pay a staff of designers does not make her one. I guarantee that the chances of her designing anything are about as low as her writing her book or changing baby diapers.

  • JX

Reads like jealousy and insecurity. I’d be insecure too if I wrote that way, had nothing to be proud of, and looked at things with such superficial understanding. If anything Ivanka’s demonstrated nothing but class and dignity, the kind that women should aspire to, and in better times, universally admired. I blame the Internet, it’s made every clown in the world think they have a valid opinion when in fact they’re just marching to the technocrat drumbeat, as dumb and in the dark as they ever were, now just programmed to be angry. Wake up people on both sides, your ideas are shallow and unenlightened, you’re as dumb as you ever were despite 24 hour access to Facebook, and you’re all being commanded from afar in servitude to some superior self-interest…. and you don’t even know it.

    • SeekingCovfefeBarbie

“Class and dignity” like suggesting champagne popsicles as an appropriate way to observe Memorial Day? She is vapid.

      • JX

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Exhibit A.

        • SeekingCovfefeBarbie

So what? You are an anonymous internet poster with no credentials passing judgment on strangers. We have no reason to think you have a “valid opinion when in fact [you’re] just marching to the technocrat drumbeat, as dumb and in the dark as [you] ever were, now just programmed to be angry.”

          • JX

My point is that people haven’t gotten any smarter, any more enlightened, than they were 20 years ago. They’ve only been exposed to excessive amounts of more effective, more pervasive manipulation. Question your ideas more, question what you think you know, what you think is self – evident, and why you think you know it. Everyone on the ground is at war but I haven’t heard an original idea in years, only intolerable levels of childlike anger. Doesn’t that say anything to you? If only one person reads this and asks themselves who they’re really being manipulated by, and why they feel so much hatred for “the other side”, it will have been worth my time to express this. Our freedom is at stake. People don’t see who the real enemy is, or even realize there is one. They just continue fighting blindly, programmed and activated like sleeper cells.

          • SeekingCovfefeBarbie

And I suggest you stop making assumptions about people whose beliefs and motivations you don’t know and who aren’t interested in your pontifications.

          • JX

On that point we agree completely, I do try. Peace and good luck in the search for truth.

          • HorseChestnut

Who is the real enemy, then?

          • JX

That’s the big question. I have my ideas but I’m not writing this to proselytize, just provoke some thought.

          • HorseChestnut

Do you think everyone’s being manipulated by a global master-manipulator cabal?

          • JX

It doesn’t really matter who, it just matters how, and what the effects are on the essence of being alive, things like originality, creativity, and freedom. But whoever it is, for either “side” (interesting how there’s only two these days), I’m sure it presents a very friendly face. On its most basic level, I don’t think this has ever really been in doubt.

          • HorseChestnut

I’m not convinced “originality” has anything to do with being alive, but OK. If I’m following correctly, this mass manipulation and division is happening using the internet. As an internet user, how have you avoided being manipulated? And what is it about this comment section that makes you certain we’re victims?
ETA: Also, what do you mean by “there’s only two [sides] these days?” I don’t recall a time when I was more likely to hear alternate views. When did you experience this?

          • JX

We’re all being manipulated. People always have been, it’s just a heck of a lot more efficient these days. Look around. Listen. People have nothing to say that you didn’t hear five minutes before from someone else. And everyone is completely convinced they’re thinking for themselves. Isn’t that enough to make you wonder what happened to people’s creativity? To their minds?

          • TX Dept. of Space Tacos

one of my more recent mottos is “It’s amazing what you hear when you shut up.”

            Just sayin’.

          • HorseChestnut

I do a lot of looking and listening, and my experience is different from yours. I see a lot of creativity around me, and I hear a lot of… interesting opinions, shall we say. If my experience were more like yours, I’d be worried about the minds of the people around me, too.

I would question this: is everyone around you actually some kind of mindless sheep, or parrot? Is it also possible that your perception is less than perfectly accurate, and could be colored by an internal sense of alienation?

          • MassiveQuantitiesofPie

Who is all that matters, if you actually believe this.

          • SnarkON

      • JX

You think you know the truth but, I hate to break it to you, it’s probably more true that you’ve never had an original idea in your entire life. That’s nothing to be ashamed of, original ideas come along once in a generation. I’m just pointing out that everyone here is parroting someone else’s anger, in servitude to someone else’s self interest, and all cleverly masked to have you think it’s actually yours. I’m not really criticizing the writing. I don’t think the use of hipsterism and childish Facebook speech actually helps anyone express a real idea, but we’re all free to search for our voice. I’m just suggesting, for what it’s worth, that if anyone out there actually has the capacity to think above computer-activated zombie level, they might want to try.

Not sure what they means but I try not to get angry (mostly unsuccessfully) because I think it leads to bad decisions and has no upside.

          • BosGrl

            Ah, repressed. Explains a lot.

          • JX

Love leads to bad decisions too, but I really like the upside so I go with it. Making decisions on how we conduct ourselves is not the same as repression.

          • Leftykook

Actually gets real verbose. None of it really MEANS anything, but there are lots of cool words!

          • JX

No it isn’t actually, because I question everything I think I know myself as well. That’s where the truth of the matter really lies, the search for authenticity.

“No it isn’t actually, because I question everything I think I know myself as well.”

And then you come here to tell us, as if your opinion is desired, cogent, or even interesting

It is none of those things.

      • JX

I never said liberal media, or even chose a side. The media is just as sheep-like as everyone else walking around thinking they’re Aristotle, Voltaire, and Spinoza all wrapped up into one simply because they have a smartphone and a Facebook account (the same smartphone and Facebook account everyone else has, of course).

Ad hominem is not logic, just spiteful. As for Trump, voting for him using “pure logic” demonstrates you have a poor understanding of how to use logic in decision making.

This is a man who makes money by declaring bankruptcy and stepping on the rights and dignity of others, perpetrated a defamatory hoax about our former president’s birth certificate for years, has little self control, and shows no signs of understanding basic science, just for example.

I get that you don’t like being called a redneck asshole (especially if the label doesn’t fit). Turning around & calling someone “Twinkie” does nothing to dispel or disprove the notion.

          • Alan Acacia

Thanks, efoveks. My namesake tree is lovely indeed (although its downside is pollen that causes hay fever for many people). I wonder what city you live in–it must be Very Yellow there when they bloom!
Alas, this is my last post on Wonkette. As a leftie I value the sharp and satiric comments here, but I find the tone of posts like Annie’s (14 upvotes) to be distasteful, which I wouldn’t mind so much if the disrespect actually helped defeat Trump and gang.

Being an anonymous comment-dork here meself, and having at times encountered others’ comments occasionally that make me squint, hiccup or want to scroll-on-past — I can sympathize, Mr. Acacia. Then I got curious what made a wonketarian not only pick up ball and go home, but express such and noting an “Annie.”
I just went through a gigazillion posts on this here thread trying to identify the offending screed. I found a “Ann,” an AnnA who Romps the Pages; a Anna sharing multiple Beyonce-inspired GIFs; a LibriraAn; I did not locate veteran wonk-ninja AnnieGetYerFun; and so became confused at your remark b/c none of the Ann[ies] that I read seemed offensive enough to cause an announcement of departure.
Then i returned to your comment and saw upthread some unfamiliar person’s cuss’n, fuss’n comment under said username. This Annie doesn’t seem to have spent much time on your Wonket or mine, though. The post got some upfists, yes, because this has been a longtime repository of dick jokes and subversive humor, I guess?
BEst wishes and plz consider re-inhabiting our drole playground someday; for now take Heart because I’ve hopelessly got the tune “Dreamboat Annie” stuck in my head FFS~

The Clintons are actually rather transparent – they release their tax returns every year and have done so since 1977, you know how they make their money, and the financial documents of their Foundation and Global Initiative are available for public inspection…in fact, their Foundation has earned a consistent A rating for transparency.

        • Doug Langley

I didn’t make any assumption. I just asked a question.

  • disqus_3OBBvRqemw
    • S A

yeah the majority of the people commenting seem to only ready the news that promotes their baised and dont read the whole thing. For example I see a news article that says the eastern ice cap is 22 inches thinner this year. And I think ok so that supports the global warming idea, but then 2 weeks later NASA comes out with an article that says the western caps are 46 inches thicker. And I think ok well that must mean the earth is rotating. But not the ice age, er I mean global warm….. climate change people (sorry I cant keep up the science changes every 10 years, but I am sure they are right this time) they disregard the study 2 and only run with study one and say the earth is dying. When the IPCC the worlds foremost authority on global warming even says yeah global warming is real and its possibly man made but its not going to effect us. But the media and politicians see money and run with Global warming is real and man made and we are all going to die. Here is Morris CO-Founder of Green Peace and he thinks all these climate changers are raging about nothing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RkdbSxyXftc

      • TX Dept. of Space Tacos

        sources? citations? links?

I don’t believe anything you say.
And why would changing ice thickness destroy the idea of climate change (if it’s true). Thicker on one side, thinner on the other?

IT’s LONG term measurements, ALL of which show reduced ice, hotter temps, and higher ocean levels.

        • S A

Well your own IPCC says that its impossible to predict the long term effects. Did you know its cooler now than it was during the roman empire? Did their CO2 emissions raise global temps too? Did you know we are still coming out of an Ice age so it will gradually warm? 30,000 years ago there was no ice on this planet. Then we had an ice age and now we are at the tail end of it. All of this you can look up yourself if you cared to learn anyting and didnt just troll the comment section with, WRONG and I dont believe just because I dont agree with you.

          • TX Dept. of Space Tacos

as i said elsewhere, you prove it. 98% of the scientists disagree with you (and nobody ever said there was NO ice prior to the ice age).

And i said wrong cause you kept making hte same point over and over again and I wasn’t going to repeat myself.
But I’ll do it here, where are your sources/citations/links for for the assumptions you make here?

          • S A

That is completely false Cooks study has been debunked hundreds of times. I love how one person says 97%, then Obama quotes it and the media run with it even though the scientific community completely denies it but yet you guys keep going back to it like a dog to vomit. http://climatechangedispatch.com/97-articles-refuting-the-97-consensus/

But keep your closed mine and forget about looking at both sides I dont care.

      • Dr. Rrrrrobotnik

The IPCC is beholden to the countries that make it up, many of which are oil-and-gas producing, who influence it to only release the most conservative estimates.

FFS. You can’t coordinate a conspiracy of climate scientists the world over, it just doesn’t work. When a small group of scientists tells you a thing you can feel free to suspect them. When nearly all scientists are clamoring that you need to listen, YOU SHOULD LISTEN.

        • S A

Nope Ipcc is beholden to the UN which is the worlds most authority on Global Climate change they are the only group saying that climage change is man made. They are one your side. Here watch this video and you will learn something. There is group one your group, thats the IPCC there is group 2 the independent and there is group there thats you, the media and polictians. Here watch this and learn. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OwqIy8Ikv-c

          • TX Dept. of Space Tacos

No, they are NOT the only ones saying it. University researchers around the world, NASA, and the effing Pentagon say it too.

          • S A

We are not talking about Gov’t organizations. They experience more pressure from politicians than any other group. They call into what is called work group 3. Those are politicians, media, govt, and eco nuts such as yourself that love to spread catastrophy. In the 80s you people were screaming about a new ice age, then in the 90s it was global warming, then in the 2000s it changed to Climate change. But I am sure this time you have it right. The science changes and every 10 years you guys come up with something different. I am curious what your new fad will be in 2020.

      • jaspersdad

Patrick Moore sold out to big oil years ago. He was also not a co-founder of Greenpeace, no matter what he says.

Not one professional scientific organisation on Earth agrees with you deniers, not in any country nor in any field of science.

Atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration is now over 400 ppm.
It last reached similar levels during the Pliocene, 5.3-2.6 million years ago.
The full effects of this higher level of CO2 takes time to kick in.
In the Pliocene, summer temperatures in the Arctic were around 15 degrees C, which is about 8 degrees C warmer than they are now.
Global average temperatures were 2-3°C warmer than today – farming in the tropics would be virtually impossible, so there’ll be mass migrations far beyond anything seen yet.
Sea level in the Pliocene was up to 40 metres higher than now.

          • jaspersdad

The Royal Society is an independent professional organisation of scientists, and has been since the 1660s.

What an amazing plot it would need to be, this climate change conspiracy.
It would need to involve many tens of thousands of scientists, in dozens of countries, in physics, geology, and many other fields of science, over the last 150 years.
But they have been exposed by a few brave bloggers and fossil fuel billionaires…..and Tony.
Meanwhile, a real conspiracy, the Watergate cover-up, involved fewer than 100 people, but it unravelled in around 2 years.
The basic science has been known since the 19th century…..

        • S A

Here are 97 independent papers by people much more knowledgeable than you I or Bill Nye that say you are wrong. There is no consensus on Climage change. The problem is that you only read and research the articles that promote your bais. Whereas those who dont agree with you are reading both sides. http://climatechangedispatch.com/97-articles-refuting-the-97-consensus/

          • jaspersdad

First link; Richard Tol’s paper debunked:
            https://skepticalscience.com/docs/24_errors.pdf?f=24errors
I looked at a random 5 and found that not one was written by a climate scientist. Perhaps you can tell me which you would like me to read.

There is no alternative science in this matter.

Science is about evidence, not opinions.

Where is the research pointing in another direction?

There is none, although people have looked for it.

For example, the independently-funded Berkeley Earth project. (including Koch brothers)

Since 2010, Berkeley Earth has completely rechecked all the temperature data (at least as far back as 1880).

BE was set up by sceptical scientists to deal with all the points made by so-called climate sceptics.

Many climate change deniers said this was exactly what they wanted, and they would accept what BE reported. (including Anthony Watts, the failed weatherman who is not a climate scientist and runs wattsupwiththat)
When BE reported that their research agreed with other researchers that:

            – the Earth is warming;

            – has been since the 19th century;

            – and that greenhouse gases produced by human activity are the cause….

            – suddenly the climate change deniers rejected BE, and never mention it.

Maybe not the Ice Caps but a Ice Shelf the size of Delaware is about to break off:

An Antarctic ice shelf that has existed for thousands of years is about to shed a 1,000-foot-thick (300-metre) block of ice that’s roughly the size of Delaware.

New satellite images show an enormous crack or rift in the Larsen C
ice shelf has suddenly forked and accelerated toward the Southern Ocean.
Scientists can’t say exactly when the rift will snap off the block, which makes up about 10 percent of Larsen C’s total area.

However, Dan McGrath, a scientist with the US Geological Survey, says it won’t be long.

“I would expect it to occur quite rapidly, within days or weeks,” McGrath, who researches Larsen C, told Reuters on Thursday.
