Tuesday, at long last, Donald Trump realized, or his daughter Ivanka told him, that, in the wake of mounting incidents of threats against Jewish people in these here United States, it would probably be a good idea for him to, you know, say anti-Semitism is bad, and actually SAY THE WORDS, instead of just issuing a blanket condemnation of mean things that are mean, like how the White House did with its Holocaust remembrance statement. Now we can move on, right, since Trump has clearly solved anti-Semitism?

Steven Goldstein, executive director of the Anne Frank Center for Mutual Respect — the US branch of the worldwide network of Anne Frank centers — was skeptical, and made a Facebook post basically LOLing at Trump’s statement, calling Trump’s words “too little, too late.” He also called out Trump’s White House specifically (cough STEVE BANNON! cough), saying Trump’s words are a “Band-Aid on the cancer of Antisemitism that has infected his own Administration” and “a pathetic asterisk of condescension after weeks in which he and his staff have committed grotesque acts and omissions reflecting Antisemitism.” In other words, TRY AGAIN, IDIOT.

This has made Press Secretary Sean Spicer very sad/mad. Spicer whined in his press briefing Tuesday that no matter ALL THE WONDERFUL THINGS Trump does to tamp down anti-Semitism (ALL THE THINGS!), it’s, and we quote, “never good enough.” Poor Donald Trump, toiling each and every day to make sure religious minorities and racial minorities and immigrants and gays and BLTs and all the diverse people who make America great feel welcome and loved in their own country, and what credit does he get? NADA. Unfair!

More of what Spicer said:

I think that it’s ironic that no matter how many times he talks about this that it’s never good enough. Today, I think, was an unbelievably forceful comment by the President as far as his denunciation of the actions that are currently targeted towards Jewish community centers. But I think that he’s been very clear previous to this. […]

I wish that they had praised the president for his leadership in this area …

And Trump has led on this issue so many times! In fact, Think Progress compiled a whole list of the times Trump has condemned anti-Semitism (every chance he gets!). Just kidding, Think Progress’s thing is about how Trump literally never does this. But should Trump even have to do anything, considering how his daughter Ivanka married a known Jewish person, Jared Kushner, whom the president likes to think of as his own hot son? Ivanka even BECAME A JEWISH! It is therefore impossible for anti-Semitism to be a problem in this White House.

Lest you think we are exaggerating, Trump idiot Kayleigh McEnany faced off on CNN with Goldstein from the Anne Frank Center Tuesday, and she proved the “president” loves Jews by asking Goldstein repeatedly if he thinks Trump hates his daughter. (Of course not! She is sexxxy and Trump knows it.) Here’s what Goldstein thinks about that:

“You know what Kayleigh?” Goldstein began. “I’m tired of commentators like you from the right trotting out his daughter, trotting out his son-in-law as talking points against the president’s antisemitism. They are Jewish, but that is not a talking point against antisemitism—and that is a disgrace!”

“Have you no ethics than to invoke people’s religion as a talking point?” he continued. “That itself is anti-Semitic.”

In response, McEnany kept asking if Trump hates Ivanka, because PSSSST SHE IS A JOO, REMEMBER? Q.E.D., YOU GUYS?

Anyway, Trump loves the Jews, they are tremendous, some of his favorite Mexicans are Jews, and we should also mention that Trump has at least two black friends, eats lots of taco bowls, and cherishes every pussy he grabs. What an intersectional hero he is!

Please don’t take this as some sort of generalized support for The Donald (I know y’all wouldn’t), but… is there really any sort of strong evidence of some kind of anti-semitic agenda in Trump’s administration? I think there’s no doubt that they have dog-whistled a “Real American” stance on numerous occasions, but I don’t see that that has targeted Jews nearly as much as Muslims or Mexicans. And the Bannon connection has always struck me as a little thin. There are plenty of Nazi types on Breitbart comment threads, but as for the site itself – it’s like two or three kinda-questionable headlines, right?

Again, not a defense – more of a question, really.

    • snigsy

      Slippery slope . . .

    • alwayspunkindrublic

How ’bout that Star of David in the ad they continued to claim was a “sheriff’s badge”? How about Trump talking to a group of conservative Jewish business men and pulling out every stereotype imaginable about Jews “driving hard bargains” and loving money, and thinking he was fucking COMPLIMENTING them? Whatever “love” he has for Jews is simply perversity filtered through the lens of his own malice.

      • Lance Thrustwell

I had forgotten about the Star of David thing – I just saw it in Martini Ambassador’s post after mine. Yup, agreed, that one’s pretty unambiguous.

About the stereotypes thing, I think he lives in a world of lazy, casual stereotypes, like a lot of essentially dumb people…. and I see that Dr. Rrrrrobotnik has put it better than I could!

Thanks for indulging my question, guys.

      • OneYieldRegular

He’s certainly not above exploiting “otherness” at any turn for his own personal gain. In fact, it’s how he got where he is (well, that and a million dollar loan from Dad).

        • Celtic_Gnome

And a fourteen million dollar bootstrap that one time he fucked up.

    • Dr. Rrrrrobotnik

Trump strikes me as having the sort of bigotry that’s bland but ingrained; he heard these stereotypes growing up and never challenged them because he’s intellectually lazy. He’s likely not anti-Semitic in the active term, but I doubt he has any particular sympathy.

Bannon is likely not an actual Nazi, since he’s Irish catholic by extraction and would have gone into the camps like everyone else. What he is, and promotes, is white nationalism, which Jews are specifically excluded from.

      • alwayspunkindrublic

As the most un-self aware person on the planet, he equates his fantasies of sex with his daughter as proof that it is impossible that he is anti-semitic. Plus, he doesn’t think he has ever made a mistake or done anything wrong in his life, so how could he be racist? Anyone who says “I’m the least racist person you’ll ever meet”, I promise you, you’d better duck and run the other way.

    • Biel_ze_Bubba

More of an attitude than an agenda. Bannon caters to the Nazis and Klan Kretins, so at best he takes a “neutral” stance on the topic.
He’s careful about it – read his words, and notice how he back-tracks at every instance of “Christian” with a parenthetical nod to “Judeo-Christian values”:

In 1991, Trump was accused of making racial slurs against black people in a book written by John R. O’Donnell, former president of Trump Plaza Hotel & Casino, called “Trumped!” O’Donnell wrote that Trump once said, in reference to a black accountant at Trump Plaza, “laziness is a trait in blacks.” He also told O’Donnell: “Black guys counting my money! Pro-tip: It is not a good idea to sign the guest book with a comment about how Anne Frank would hopefully be a “Belieber” if she were alive today.

      • Robbertjan Brandenburg

A Dutch reporter/historian wrote a very eloquent article about this and how she believed Anne probably would have been a belieber as she was a young girl loving Hollywood, music and fame and how this was in a way honoring her in the only way he knew as an honest belief and that the little guy got way too much flak over it. She ended the article stating that it was a moving thought that in a different world Anne could have gone to a Bieber concert instead of being hidden because of hatred and that we should always remember and embrace the fact that girls nowadays can do exactly that in the Netherlands because of the sacrifice of so many American and Canadian young men the age of Bieber.

        • Brendan_M

A Dutch reporter/historian/belieber, I’m assuming, to make such a generous argument. Some good points there, but there is a big difference between expressing regret that Anne Frank never got a chance to do the things, even the silly things like listening to garbage pop music, that young girls should have the freedom and opportunity to do, and expressing the hope that she would be a huge fan of yourself. It is a narcissism of a much less-harmful nature than Trump’s malignant narcissism, to be sure. Many men of Bieber’s age sacrificed and fought to make that kind of freedom possible, but men of Trump’s age denied Anne Frank’s family and thousands of others refuge from what ultimately killed them out of bigotry and fear. That is the lesson we should heed today.

          • Robbertjan Brandenburg

Uhg! I can’t stand his “Chyy nuh!” What’s worse is that I hear his verbiage sliding into common usage. Sad.

  • Nockular cavity

    it’s never good enough.

Should’ve added “for you people” on the end there, Sean. People love that!

    • House0fTheBlueLights

Implied. It’s certainly what I heard.

    • ResistanceFictionista blondeiq

Ya beat me to it, Nock! Well played!

  • PsycWench

“no matter how many times he talks about this that it’s never good enough.”

Well, that is correct. He has spoken a couple of times and no, it hasn’t been good enough. Nor will it be anytime soon.

  • Tio_Doidinho

I’m guessing the SNL opening will be extra-special this week. And probably on a five-second delay.

    • magyar of infinite power

Looks like a re-run this weekend

      • Brendan_M

SNL running re-runs is an act of complicity to Trump’s reckless authoritarianism. Shame on them.

      • Tio_Doidinho

How could they be this dumb with their programming? Taking a hiatus when they could be making comedy history. Why??

        • magyar of infinite power

          Lorne Michaels hates us

He loves the Jooz because they count his money….remember he said that?! I’m tired of these moronic Dampnut dick suck hags screaming idiotic shit like the idiots they are.

I for one have found Donnie’s response to anti-Semitic threats very strong and convincing. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/b117b11cc4f10ca823c8d10a7cf3f6c7f1c7f8a13aad98388539a6c0791414bf.gif

  • (Major_Major_Major)ly_Pissed

I’m not complaining, but whatever happened to the Kellyanne Conway’s of yesteryear?

    • Vagenda and Pee-ara

First she was banned from Morning Joe, and now apparently, from Trump’s heart.

      • (Major_Major_Major)ly_Pissed

Well, she wasn’t a 10 so that was to be expected.

  • Me not sure

“If Donald Trump was an antisemite, would he have gone to Norway to personally track down and return the stolen Aushwitz gate? He didn’t actually do that, but he would have. 100%!! PERIOD!!”

  • House0fTheBlueLights

I would love to have heard the conversations when the whole Jared thing started up. I wonder how long they snuck around wondering how to tell her father. imo converting was Ivanka’s giant fuck you to Daddy.

    • TakingAmes

Nah. Business arrangement. “But Daddy, I love him, and his family owns the half of New Jersey that we don’t!”

    • Jukesgrrl

I don’t think he cares about religion at all. His own or anyone else’s. The real problem is he wouldn’t lift a finger to help another person. Any group that is being discriminated against or harmed is invisible to him. Yes, he happily discriminates when the purpose is making money, such as he and his father not wanting tenants of color, but I bet he sees that as “his job,” not discrimination. Just as he probably saw Ivanka’s relationship with Jared as the joining of two “successful” real estate companies, not love. I’m not defending him, I’m just saying he’s doesn’t THINK enough to get to “I don’t like that group, therefore I will purposefully harm them.” He harms or helps people depending on what’s in it for him. Otherwise, you’re dead to him.

      • House0fTheBlueLights

        This is really insightful.

Hitler never got credit for not charging train fare to the camps either.

    • MeerkatsRMammals

They got payment by stealing millions of poor souls luggage full of valuables/money, gold teeth & glasses. Hopefully, if there is an afterlife that involves a hell-like scenario, those Nazi fuckers are there for all of eternity.

It’s always in the small print with the Fascists

      • puredog

        If there is, they are.

  • Thaumaturgist

I do not believe anti-Semitism is a problem at the White House, any more than it is a problem at Mar-a-Lago. This is pure opportunism, a posture assumed to appeal to Trump’s non-racist base.

  • ResistanceFictionista blondeiq

I can hardly believe they managed to avoid saying “*you people* are never satisfied!”

    • zanzibar_buckbuck_mcfate

      You New Yorkers!

  • OddMan

Well you have to admit that White House Spokesthing Kayleigh did answer Mr. Goldstein’s question, “Have you no ethics than to invoke people’s religion as a talking point?”. when she continued to use that argument.
    Answer is clear to me.

  • Ghenghis McCann

Look who’s raising money to repair damage to a vandalised Jewish cemetery. Clue: It’s not Trump or any of his close associates.

I think hat it’s ironic that no matter how many times he talks about this that it’s never good enough.

Worst grasp of irony since Alanis Morrisette’s.

Today, I think, was an unbelievably forceful comment by the President

Well, I for one certainly unbelieve its forcefulness.

    • Boscoe

Hey, he took time out from golfing, whining about the media and lying about his “epic electoral college win” to say the words! UNPRECEDENTED!

    • zanzibar_buckbuck_mcfate

Like a strenuous objection. It’s better than just being forceful.

    • MeerkatsRMammals

Didn’t Donald once revoke a dying relative’s health insurance?

    • suziq

      His brother’s son I believe.

      • MeerkatsRMammals

He’s SO against alcohol cuz his brother had the consumption. Yet, he tried to make a bunch of money shilling shitty Trump-branded Vodka. Any bets in a few years, he’ll be selling tanning lotion like George Hamilton?

        • suziq

Don’t know if he will have much success selling that weed orange spray tan!

      He makes Nixon look heroic.

      • C4TWOMAN

Hell, he even makes GWB look competent.

    • Bitter Scribe

John Adams may be a contender. I wonder if Trump will come up with his own version of the Alien and Sedition Acts.

      • Darkrose

Sit down, John, you fat motherfucker!

  • Bitter Scribe

He or his mouthpieces couldn’t even just say, “Look, I’m not responsible for every dumb/bigoted thing said or done by people who say they support me”?

Probably not, because that would mean admitting that some of his supporters are dumb bigots.

    • Hiptobesquare

Dunno. Remember what he said during the campaign: “I love the poorly educated!”

  • Bad Tom

The reason we know Trump’s Administration is antisemitic, Kayleigh, is because Steve Bannon and Steve Miller are.

Trump is merely a conduit who signs the odious Executive Orders, and can stand afterwards at rallies and say he loves his daughter and son-in-law, who are Jewish. And drink in the adulation coming in waves of proto-religious fervor.

Of course he loves them! They are his family!

And the two Steves love the plausible deniability. Oh yes, they do! It is one of their most valuable assets.

    • Hiptobesquare

      Nailed it!

  • zanzibar_buckbuck_mcfate

UGGGGHHHHHHHHH I usually avoid watching clips of 45’s blond yelling ladies but this really made me see red. “Does he like his daughter?” What the fuck does that have to do with anything? Where do these white ladies get all this umbrage? It’s so unnecessary.

So Kayleigh by the same token, are you saying Strom Thurmond was not racist because he had a black love child? Please explain. That’s my question to that dumb bimbo

    • zanzibar_buckbuck_mcfate

Trump has a black friend, too!

      • Hairstrike Alpha

Yes but he had to pay Ben Carson to be his friend!

        • Jukesgrrl

There’s also Kanye. He liked Trump a lot before he went on meds.

      • MeerkatsRMammals

Just one. That’s why he took him to ‘splain things at the Smithsonian African-American Museum.

        • Hiptobesquare

Yes, and Twittler’s remarks at the museum were also filled with passion and zeal: “That is bad. That is very bad.”

  • Snark Tank, Bad Hombre

Poor Donald Trump, toiling each and every day to make sure religious minorities and racial minorities and immigrants and gays and BLTs and all the diverse people who make America great feel welcome and loved in their own country, and what credit does he get?

I haz a confuse, and need help (in so many, many ways…): Can there be gay Jews? Don’t they have a problem with the BLTs, cuz….I mean….bacon!

    (I’ll show myself out)

    • Poly_Ester

I think that’s trolling everyday not toiling.

  • MeerkatsRMammals

“Never good enough” said Spicy. Yesterday was literally the very first time over the last year & half where Trump said the magic “Antisemitism” words. He was given many opportunities (like Think Progress said) & chose not to just say “hate is bad”. Nope. He chose to give dog whistles to all his Pepe followers instead. But, NOW we’re supposed to congratulate Agent Orange? Fuck off, Spicy.

    • Hiptobesquare

Plus, the statement was obviously written for him (he was golfing), and he read it with the passion and zeal of an old man exhausted from walking up a flight of stairs.

      • MeerkatsRMammals

Fake news! We all know Trump won’t go near a flight of stairs 😉

  • Toomush_Inferesistance

In the last post, someone brought out a picture of Miller making an obvious White Nationalist (Nazi) sekrit hand gesture. If that picture is not altered, the national media should be dragging his ass up and down through the briar patch..

Dicktatortot especially loves Jews when they are counting all of his money:

“Black guys counting my money! I hate it. The only kind of people I want counting my money are little short guys that wear yarmulkes every day.”

  • sadboy

Trump: monetizing the banality of evil since 2015.

  • Strom Thurmond had a black daughter.

    • mardam422

Well, half-black. So he didn’t hate at least half of her. That’s something, right?

      • Querolous

So he liked 1/2 of 3/5ths?

        • puredog

They told me there wouldn’t be maths.

They said there would be no math questions.

  • Anna Rompage

“I think that it’s ironic that no matter how many times he talks about this that it’s never good enough.”

Um, last time I checked, he’s only spoken out against the antisemitic bigotry of his base followers 2 times now, over the 2 years he’s been in the political spotlight, and both of those attempts, were weak & sad…

Then of course, there was the time last week when he was asked about antisemitism by a journalist, and he want on a rant about how bigly he won the election by…

    • mailman27

Even if it were true, it wouldn’t be ironic.

      • msgypsy

Ironic. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

  • IOnlyLikeCats

Even my racist dad knew not to invoke my siblings and I as proof of how he is not racist.

  • Panika MCD

it’s not like he’s trying to hire 15 thousand people to round up the anti-Semites and deport them. of course not. to get the 15 thousand he’s talking about, he’s going to need a lot of blatant racists. he’s not banning them from coming into the country. he has very nice things to say about Julian Assange since ASSange says nice things about him because: “wouldn’t it be nice if we were friends with Wikileaks?” or something. in fact, when he makes blanket statements against hate and racism, all his supporters–and a lot of his opponents, for that matter–hear him whining about how the media is mean to him and white people robots ain’t gettin’ a fair shake because they moved those automated plants somewhere else because that’s what he does ALL THE TIME.

  • Manhattan123

Trump loves his daughter all right. Especially when she 14 and he would sneak into her room at 3 am for a little diddling sesh.

  • Celtic_Gnome

Ivanka’s a Jew! Maybe she could set up a meeting between them and her Daddy. She knows the Jews, right?

    • Hiptobesquare

I see what you did there! Good one!
