Racist Lady Just Can't Go Anywhere These Days Without Getting Discriminated Against

Move over, Beanie Babies and Tickle-Me-Elmos or whatever it is the kids are into these days! The latest fad to hit the streets (er... counters?) is the loud and completely absurd racist and/or homophobic rant in the middle of a public venue! Often while insisting they are being discriminated against for being white Trump supporters! They're erupting into outbursts all over the damn place, from Starbucks , to grocery stores, to Floor and Decor , to grocery stores , to the very Michael's craft store, where I, Robyn Pennacchia, regularly purchase my yarn .

Yep! This lady erupted into a 45 minute racist rant, calling the employees at the store "animals" and insisting that they were discriminating against her because she's white and a Trump supporter because they, um, told her that the only larger bags they had were the reusable kind you have to purchase, because Chicago doesn't allow plastic bags.

The video was recorded and posted to Facebook by customer Jessie Grady, who says her reason for publishing it was to make sure the employees at the store did not get in trouble just because this customer was an ass. Which, as a former retail worker myself, I very much appreciate.

This is the shortened version of an almost 45 minute ordeal I saw a racist Trump supporter put an entire store, in one of most liberal neighborhoods of Chicago (if not the country), through on Wednesday night. This entitled young white woman was angry that an African American employee asked her if she wanted to buy a bag for her larger items. I started recording because I'd seen her in the store and she'd told me to go ahead of her in line and when I was about to leave she started lying & yelling at the employees and going on a horrible racist rant. I've worked in retail and I know that 9/10 times, when a customer complains, employees suffer and the irate customer gets a discount so I started filming because I wasn't going to let that happen. She was threatening these women's jobs, shouting that she was a Trump supporter, that African American women were discriminating against her, she called them animals, said it was reverse racism, etc. She literally said to the (black) manager of this store, "You're not my mother and I'll do whatever I want to you!" (The manager - this amazing woman, was calm as the sea!).

For what it's worth, the employees at that particular Michael's could not possibly be nicer or more helpful. Seriously! They are great people and always have coupons at the register and I like them a lot.

The thing I don't get here is why these people think that other people somehow just know they are Trump supporters and are looking to discriminate against them for that. Do they think people have psychic abilities? I mean, I would generally guess that someone going around berating people who work in the service industry is more likely to have voted for Trump, but one can never be sure.

Perhaps not shockingly, this is not this young lady's first time berating employees in public. There is a rumor going around town that just a few weeks ago, she laid into the employees at the Marshall's above Michael's (also very nice people), a rumor that is buttressed by this other video, back in July, going on a homophobic rant at Peet's Coffee!

Apparently, this is just her schtick -- I'm guessing she heard the phrase "the customer is always right" once too often and allowed it to drive her mad with power. Unfortunately for her, she is now quite well known and will probably end up getting taped every time she tries to pull that crap again.

There is, however, some Nice Time attached to this story. Grady started a GoFundMe for the manager -- who had to put her small design business on hold and take a job at Michael's in order to support her family -- which has now raised over $14,000. I will be donating in memory of the time about four Michael's employees there tried their hearts out to help me when I couldn't find jump rings that were thin enough for the necklace I was trying to fix.
