Donald Trump with his First Lady AKA his daughter.
Ugh

WERE WE NOT TALKING ABOUT THIS FIVE SECONDS AGO? Yes, we were! We discussed how Megyn Kelly busted Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway’s ass over her complaints that it’s just SO MEAN that Hillary Clinton keeps releasing ads highlighting what misogynistic gutter trash Donald Trump is. Kelly’s point, simply, was that Trump is nasty, calls women pigs, has made sexist comments about the looks of both Hillary Clinton and Carly Fiorina this year, called the beautiful 1996 Miss Universe Alicia Machado “Miss Piggy,” and TOO MANY MORE EXAMPLES TO NAME. Conway’s point, on the other hand, was that she didn’t have a point.

And now here is a story from the Los Angeles Times, about some more ladies Donald Trump thought were PEE-YEW UGLY. It seems that, according to employees at the Trump National Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, Trump really wanted to fire all the ugly lady employees he saw there, because EW GROSS:

When Trump did visit, the club’s managers went on alert. They scheduled the young, thin, pretty women on staff to work the clubhouse restaurant — because when Trump saw less-attractive women working at his club, according to court records, he wanted them fired.

“I had witnessed Donald Trump tell managers many times while he was visiting the club that restaurant hostesses were ‘not pretty enough’ and that they should be fired and replaced with more attractive women,” Hayley Strozier, who was director of catering at the club until 2008, said in a sworn declaration.

statement

That statement is part of a 2012 labor relations lawsuit called Messerschmidt v. Trump National Golf Club, which features declarations from LOTS of employees. Here’s one from a woman named Sue Kwiatkowski:

“Donald Trump always wanted good looking women working at the club,” said Sue Kwiatkowski, a restaurant manager at the club until 2009, in a declaration. “I know this because one time he took me aside and said, ‘I want you to get some good looking hostesses here. People like to see good looking people when they come in.’ ”

kwiatkowski

Here’s another thing from Hayley Strozier, quoted above, about how she was supposed to fire an overweight woman, “because Donald Trump dislikes fat people”:

strozier

Let’s remember that this is coming from a guy who looks like this:

So there.

What a looker, like whoa. Hey sexy boy, bring that milkshake over into OUR yards, you bet!

If you read the lawsuit, you will find many more examples of Mr. Trump absolutely insisting that the lady employees at his club be boner-rific “Perfect 10’s.” We’d post them all, except for how they all say the same thing.

As Hillary Clinton pointed out in the debate, Trump likes to “hang around” beauty pageants, mostly because he’s a perv. We know how he’s treated those beauty pageant winners, we know he says gross sexual things about his own daughter, and now we can see that, in the surprise of the century, one of the main qualifications to be a woman working in a Trump organization is to have tits ‘n’ ass that are pleasing to the boss man’s wandering eyes.

The L.A. Times reports that most of this lawsuit — which primarily focused on a harsh work environment where employees weren’t even allowed to take breaks — was settled in 2013, with, in typical Trump fashion, no admission of guilt, just a $475,000 payout in exchange for SHHHHHHHH! It’s just like that Trump lawsuit in the 1970s over racial discrimination in housing — Trump didn’t admit he did it, and everybody was doing it anyway, so what’s the big?

We don’t have some grand conclusion to make in this post. We’re just saying this new evidence of Trump being a misogynistic, pathetic piece of shit is OMG WHAT A SHOCK.

As long as her ratings are up, she is gold.

        • Jukesgrrl

But all MSNBC (and CNN) ratings go down after an election. There’s no way to win when that’s the only way they choose employees. They put Brian Williams on just as the election heats up and they’re going to say he’s the reason ratings improved. Meanwhile, their coverage would be better if he (and Toad) would STFU.

    I’m surprised it took a while for them to catch on to the “schedule the staff to favor Trump’s tastes” trick. This kind of thing goes on all the time (though usually it’s quick, purely cosmetic fix ups of the facilities, not the staff–ugh!). And bad managers always fall for it;

  • CapnFatback

This probably explains why Donald arranged for Ivanka to do summer intern work at his clubs.

  • Ryan Denniston

He doesn’t even respect his daughter. See that picture at the top? His daughter looking longingly at Donald, and Donald looking at the camera, at you the audience. To him, Ivanka is merely an ornament, as are all women. And when they can’t ornament good, they have no value.

Also too, he fat-shamed former Miss Australia.

I do not believe that they have officially endorsed any candidate yet, but I suspect that they will endorse Hillary. The Toledo Blade will just continue to talk smack about her campaign until the election is over with.

When Trump is asked about his history of calling women ugly names, he can only respond to the name-calling of specific women “who deserved it.” He doesn’t comprehend how despicable that sounds to most people, that it is possible to disagree with people without attacking their bodies/faces, and that it is childish and nasty to do so. This is how he does “presidential” and “best temperament.”

    • data_ninja

Well that’s because “he tells it like it is!”, so say his target audience. That’s because it lines up perfectly with their ethos: Bad things that happen to people you disagree with ‘deserve it’, while when bad things that happen to people you agree with ‘are victims’. No double standard at all right there.

      Let’s go to the checklist….

DSM-5 criteria for narcissistic personality disorder include these features:

-Having an exaggerated sense of self-importance
-Expecting to be recognized as superior even without achievements that warrant it
      -Exaggerating your achievements and talents
-Being preoccupied with fantasies about success, power, brilliance, beauty or the perfect mate
-Believing that you are superior and can only be understood by or associate with equally special people
      -Requiring constant admiration
      -Having a sense of entitlement
-Expecting special favors and unquestioning compliance with your expectations
-Taking advantage of others to get what you want
-Having an inability or unwillingness to recognize the needs and feelings of others
-Being envious of others and believing others envy you
-Behaving in an arrogant or haughty manner

O/T but Michiko Kakutani from the NYT did a brilliant, disturbing review of “Hitler: Ascent”. It’s really worth reading, Wonketeers: “…Hitler concealed his anti-Semitism beneath a “mask of moderation” when trying to win the support of the socially liberal middle classes, he specialized in big, theatrical rallies staged with spectacular elements borrowed from the circus. Here, “Hitler adapted the content of his speeches to suit the tastes of his lower-middle-class, nationalist-conservative, ethnic-chauvinist and anti-Semitic listeners,” Mr. Ullrich writes. He peppered his speeches with coarse phrases and put-downs of hecklers. Even as he fomented chaos by playing to crowds’ fears and resentments, he offered himself as the visionary leader who could restore law and order….”

Donald Trump, touting the support he’s received from evangelicals in this battleground state, called on his supporters at a rally here to identify themselves as “Christian conservatives.” http://www.cnn.com/2016/09/28/politics/donald-trump-evangelicals/index.html

      • Spotts1701

Yep – many have swallowed the belief that since he isn’t a “politician” he won’t be bound by what is the “political” choice. Notice how on Monday he spent a lot of time hammering “30 years of career politicians” and how you need someone who knows “business” to rip up “bad” trade deals and stop government contractors from “gouging” us for screwdrivers and toilet seats?
It’s a warped version of the “Anyone can be President” while ignoring the fact that, yes, anyone can be President. But the ones who are not qualified should not be.

    • alwayspunkindrublic

White people in this country are taught to worship wealth and the wealthy. Along with that comes the right wing bromide that it is a zero-sum game; that the reason they aren’t affluent is because others-*coughdarkpeoplecough*-are getting too big a slice of the pie. The biggest draw is less material than what wealth enables Trump to do…to bully and kick with impunity those he deems either inferior or a threat to him. I’m convinced this feral mean streak is his most attractive quality among the mouthbreathers.

      • Biel_ze_Bubba

Never occurs to them that in a zero-sum game, the existence of bazillionaires has a lot more to do with the problem.

            All of it, Katie.

      • Alexander Stallwitz

I read an biography of Trump that commented that America has always been obessed with wealth since the Robber Baron days. Its some complusion in americans to canonize people who pull themselves up by the bootstraps. I always believed its throwback to the Purtians who believed that sign of God’s favor(and a sign of going to heaven) was the size of your bank account

        • alwayspunkindrublic

I think that has been true, but more periodically than constantly. Ironically, it is more true now that wealth inequality is at it’s greatest gulf in history. Prosperity gospel preachers-which as you said, hearken back to the Puritan notion of God blessing the righteous through wealth, constant media profiles and brag books about the uber-wealthy. You’d think it’d be time for pitchforks, torches, and guillotines, but they seem to have successfully sold this narrative that everybody is getting what they justly deserve.

      • Mike Steele

Generally share your views, always, but part company here. Fuggedabout ‘white privelege’. Scum like Trump emerges as natl. savior because reality TV. Black, white, gay, straight, dwarf, Amish, octomom, hoarders, junkies…
All have attained their 15 minutes of coveted notoriety by exhibiting and celebrating what was once considered bad behavior. Ergo, it looks like any loser can become ‘the next big thing’ by being a public asshole. QED.

        • alwayspunkindrublic

Oh, there’s no need to apologize for disagreeing. I stick to my guns, but agree totally with you as well…if that makes any sense. It is now a common strategy on reality tv to try to win-or at least gain some degree of attention and notoriety that outlasts the show-by being the meanest, nastiest, lying-est a-hole in the group. What a thing to aspire to, right? That’s exactly what Trump’s black lickspittle Omarosa did when she was on his phony show, and look where it’s gotten her. Which speaks for itself, I guess…We seem to live in a country where people willingly and happily disgrace themselves for a fleeting taste of wealth or fame.

  • DesertedPictures

In retrospect I wasn’t surprised that Trump managed to become the Republican nominee for president. Far right parties in other Western democracies have risen quite quickly in the past decade. They all peaked out at about 30 percent of the vote, max. That’s about half of the Republican electorate and enough to get him on top of the ticket. What suprises me far more, is how he is still somehow a viable candidate.

When the far right in France succeeds in getting their candidate on the ballet as one (of two) candidates for the presidency, the ‘normal’ right always comes true for their opponents (and vice versa). Why are normal conservatives even considering voting for this guy. Why not cut your losses, try again in four years and campaign for down ballet republicans. It just baffles me.

    • WhyFelicia

I know plenty of conservatives who are doing this. One is voting for the Libertarian. I haven’t checked his FB feed recently, I wonder if he still is after that Aleppo moment.

          • Mike Steele

            And likely not a libertarian…

    • Dr. Rrrrrobotnik

It’s stuff like this that make me happy we have a first-past-the-post system, because I’ve always thought the parliamentary system is too vulnerable to wackadoos. It’s pretty clear by now that Trump’s popular “ceiling” is about 45% of the vote, which is pretty weak by FPTP standards but exceedingly strong in a parliamentary one with more than two parties. It’s pretty damn unlikely that Trump will get elected in any circumstance, but only in *our* system.

Not to go all Godwin in this muv, but a lot of people point out that Hitler and the Nazis only ever got 30% of the vote. That’s true, and also totally irrelevant because it still made them the biggest party and made Hitler chancellor because *that’s the way a parliamentary democracy works*.

      • alwayspunkindrublic

Well said. Exactly why I defend the idea of an essentially two-party system.

        • Death Rocks From Space

Yep. And then we have the Tea Party sorta, kinda creating an imitation of a parliamentary system by holding the Repugs hostage to their minority.

        • Mike Steele

Can only add that you’re not going to see this kind of cogent comparative government discussion on many other websites, bless all Wonkettes’ liberty-lovin’ hearts:)

          • alwayspunkindrublic

We put the “wonk” back in Wonkette.

      • DesertedPictures

I have to disagree with you there. The nazi party gained 43,9% of the vote in the 1933 election: that was the election after they took over the country and took control of large sections of the press. In a first past the post system, like the US, they would have won then. (not that it mattered at that time).

(The US republican system, implemented in other countries, is inherently less stable, then parliamentary systems. However, all democratic systems become more stable over time, and the US has been around for such a long time, that democracy is ingrained into the culture and populace).

I think you are conflating proportional representation systems and parliamentary systems. France (my example) has a presidential system, that looks more like the American system, then other European parliamentary systems.

Proportional systems are not good at preventing extremists seats in parliament: they are, however, far better equipped in keeping their numbers low. In fptp system, you always have binary options: you have to choose one of two (lesser) evils. People that would have supported (succesfully) third parties in other countries, can’t in the US and are force to either waste their vote, or vote for someone they dislike. It all works well, until one of the two choices is aweful. What do you do when the extremists are one of the two options?

        • Dr. Rrrrrobotnik

I would point out that in a FPTP 43.9% is still pretty weak/defeatable, especially since in a binary system the opposing candidate can gather up to 56.1%. And I’d question the assertion that the parliamentary system is more stable, using the very country you mentioned: France. France’s third republic, between 1920 and 1940, had over *20* different governments, each rising and falling because a sufficient minority in each instance paralyzed the whole system.

The problem with not preventing extremists in government occurs when, as a necessity to form a majority, the extremists have to be brought in and then placated. If they’re not, they can bring down the entire government at a moment of their choosing. Which results in ruling coalitions that are, at least somewhat, insane (see, for instance, how much Netanyahu has to to kowtow to the extremist Israeli right wing in order to keep his job).

My basic issue with parliamentary systems is that, in a FPTP system, you need damn near 50% of a population to directly vote for a lunatic for them to get into office: not impossible, but difficult. On the other hand, in a parliamentary system you just need about 20-30% and the right political circumstances.

          • Vagenda and Tiara

It helps if half the country isn’t made up of drooling morons who watch a propaganda channel 24/7, and are too stupid to even realize they’re watching propaganda.

          • Regret

It all depends on how much power someone has once they get in office.

In parliamentary systems the power usually has a lower average and a lower maximum so having the democratically elected extremists in government is not as harmful as in a system where the winner takes all.
This is true in both FPTP and parliamentary systems: reduced power centralization equals reduced power abuse.

Another trait of a parliamentary system is that more than half of the members needs to compromise to achieve something, this weakens extreme proposals.

(I’m taking your word for the situation in Israel, I don’t have enough current information.) The reason Netanyahu needs to consider the wishes of the extreme right wing is because the extreme right wing gets a lot of votes, to do otherwise would a dictatorship, not a democracy.

First past the post is only acceptable for mostly symbolic positions, all real politicians should be prepared to talk to the other side(s).

          • Mike Steele

As to last assertion, you actually DON’T need 50% to get lunatic elected. The choice, as you’ve seen in the US political cycles throughout history, is NOT binary and, in this election as in Bush/Gore, third and fourth party entries can have a disparate impact on the outcome.

    • Spotts1701

If it were anyone other than Hillary Clinton, they probably would. But she has been built up as the most horrible, horrible, evil person ever by the right-wing noise machine, so rank-and-file Republicans simply cannot support her because they’ve been so conditioned to see her as the worst possible choice. So they would rather sit out or ignore the top of the ticket. And the leadership has to push the narrative or admit the last 25 years of smears, lies, and investigations were just a way to grift the gullible.

      • Dr. Rrrrrobotnik

Ahh, our loyal opposition. After years of screaming “LIBERALS ARE ROBBING YOU/KILLING THE BABBIES/BETRAYING THE COUNTRY/ARMING THE BROWNS SO ELECT US OR WE ALL DIE AAAAAAAAHHHH” they’re actually shocked that 1. their electorate actually started believing them and then 2. get confused when they work alongside said hell-monsters in government.

right U R Tom, as there are millions of fat, male Trumpistas who have no problem passing judgment on every skirt (or pantsuit) that cruises by.

    From Mother Jones:

After college, after Trump mostly gave up his personal athletic interests, he came to view time spent playing sports as time wasted. Trump believed the human body was like a battery, with a finite amount of energy, which exercise only depleted. So he didn’t work out. When he learned that John O’Donnell, one of his top casino executives, was training for an Ironman triathlon, he admonished him, “You are going to die young because of this.”

Remember the naked statues that popped up? Yep, that’s lil Donnie without his clothes on (my eyes, my eyes!).

Not to mention that, of course, he totally wrong. Specifically, exercise lowers resting heart rate and it is thought that the heart basically beats just so many times so slowing down the ticker will help you to live longer. Asshole.

I’m guessing that if he didn’t have the hots for Ivanka she’d have been disowned by now. It’s funny, because he might be our next president!

  • JD Mulvey

All this stuff was merely offensive when it was just Donald Trump the blowhard developer ruining New York City.

Now that he’s the Republican nominee for President, his horrid shitstain is smeared all over his entire party.

He’s you, Republicans, and you’re him.

  • Mike Steele

Are Trumpistas so desperately inbred that they haven’t caught onto the nastiness that is his relationship with the sad Ivanka?
