Mateen's father.
Yesterday, Donald Trump opened his mouth and -- in the most charitable interpretation, because we are Charity Itself -- made a "joke" about gun nuts killing Hillary Clinton to stop her from repealing the Second Amendment. This was, for real, shocking, and everybody on the Internet fell down. Even Senator Jeff Sessions (R -SO BAD ) was all "nuh uh, nope, not okay, nyet." (Just kidding. He said Donald Trump never meant that, but okay, you shouldn't joke about it. Baby steps!)
So what did CNN spend half of its time on yesterday afternoon? (Literally half its time -- the other 50 percent went to Trump surrogates yelling that we should be talking about the economy instead of Donald Trump's hilarious "jokes" about assassinating Hillary Clinton, while mild-mannered Republican women tried to get a word in edgewise that we COULD be talking about the economy except DONALD TRUMP HAD JOKED ABOUT ASSASSINATING HILLARY CLINTON, and so that was KINDA ON HIM. They did not use caps when they were talking though, only the loud Trump boors did that, and then the Trump boors called the GOP ladies "Democrats," because that's how you do.)
Let me answer that question, the one way back at the beginning of the last paragraph, for you! CNN spent literally half its time Tuesday afternoon on the Clinton campaign "shooting itself in the foot," with the "unforced error" of having the Orlando shooter's dad show up uninvited to its Orlando rally and then letting him inside, where he was caught on camera over Clinton's shoulder. How did he get there? (It was open to the public; also, we are guessing, probably "in a car.") Did the Clinton campaign invite him? (No.) Did someone put him up on that stage, where it looked like he was close to Clinton but he wasn't, and where staff usually put a rich "tapestry" of folks to show the varied demographic support for a candidate? (Apparently.) Did they know it was the Orlando shooter's dad? (Undoubtedly not.)
I watched this same segment at least seven times, which is why I don't watch TV news, and each time I got angrier, and the remote control was really far away.
The shooter's dad, Seddique Mateen, is a little bit of an asshole . The Clinton campaign has said no thank you for your nice endorsement, we're good.
Cher in particular thinks the Trump people invited Mateen to the event; he was wearing a very bright red hat, which seems an odd fashion choice at a Clinton rally unless you really want to be noticed. However, while I like a false flag as much as the next girl, Occam's Razor would suggest the Muslim dude is not a Trump fan, and is more likely a Hillz fan, even though, again, he is an asshole.
SUCH BULLSHIT‼️DOES
ANY1 IN THEIR RIGHT MIND
THINK HILLARY INVITED CRAZY FATHER,OF FK WHO KILLED OUR PPL,2 RALLY⁉️MY?'s SAYS?PPL CALLED HIM— Cher (@cher) August 10, 2016
Did that stop CNN from spending LITERALLY HALF ITS AFTERNOON on the story, and my husband wasn't even home and I didn't have any drugs?
Fuck you CNN, except Tapper, I like you, you're cool.
That's next.
And that is all I wanted (and, indeed, expected) from the Clinton campaign: Acknowledge that this thing happened, and how it happened. Now can we please get back to the issue of what the Republican party is doing about the hate-spewing shitheel who keeps popping up on their stage at their rallies?
