This man is a genuine U.S. American hero who served his country to help fight the terrorists over there so we don’t have to duct-tape our windows and hide from them under our beds over here:

[Syed Raheel] Farook is a veteran of the United States Navy with several “awards and decorations,” a spokesperson told BuzzFeed News. He enlisted in August 2003 and left the service in August 2007.

Navy records show he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and Sea Service Deployment Ribbon.

He also is the brother of Syed Rizwan Farook, one of the alleged shooters in the San Bernardino massacre on Wednesday. (The Daily Beast would have you believe they are the same person. Science journalism fact: They are not the same person.)

This man is a genuine U.S. American piece of flea scat, who did not serve his country because of how he stubbed his toe real bad during the whole war in the ‘Nam:

When you get these terrorists, you have to take out their families! They care about their lives, don’t kid yourselves. They say they don’t care about their lives. But you have to take out their families.

That’s Donald Trump, who wants to Make America Great Again, by not only bombing “the shit out of ISIS,” but also killing all the terrorists’ moms and dads and college roommate’s ex-boyfriend’s brother-in-law, and all their puppies. That’s how you gotta do, according to America’s best military strategist since ever.

So if the FBI concludes the San Bernardino shooting on Wednesday was a terrorist attack, and Syed Rizwan Farook was a terrorist, by the Trump Rule, we must “take out” his terrorist-fighting brother, the decorated Navy veteran Syed Raheel Farook, for the crime of being related to A Bad Guy.

What a terrific, just terrific, idea of Trump’s. Other than killing genuine U.S. American heroes who are for reals helping to win the War On Terra and keep us safe and protect our freedoms, what could possibly go wrong?

A YOOOGE success plan! I like it!

  • lucidamente

I thought he meant “take them out to the fanciest, most classy restaurant around, and then, if their daughter is a 9 or a 10 (ok, even an 8, see, I’m not a racist) take her home and bang the shit out of her.”

    • JustPixelz

You are correct. The kill-them-all comes after the banging.

    • HolidayinCambodia

I read that as “if their daughter is 9 or 10 (ok, even 8, see, I’m not a racist)….”

Too much Duggar on this site.

      • JustPixelz

        Too much Duggar period.

        • PubOption

Ma Duggar hasn’t had one in about 20 years.

  • So Donalds plan, in essence, is to terrorize people to stop people who terrorize.

    I get it.

  • alwayspunkindrublic

We should force them to abort all children to keep them from growing up to be terrorists. Or Hitler. P. P. will be booming!

    • AntiDerpomeme

I actually honest-to-God read something on the Faceblerks today about how anybody that’s on government assistance should be given mandatory birth control. Because only rich people should have kids, I guess? I dunno if they’ve thought that one through, though, because we still need disposable labor in the coal mines and armed forces, and rich kids sure ain’t doing that work.

      • alwayspunkindrublic

Silly, we can just import the proles from third world countries, while keeping our own gene stock pure.

      • Jen_Baker_VA

Well, they almost got it right. I am all for giving anyone on assistance free birth control, if they want it.
Funny how freedumbs never is applied if it is one of /those/ people.

        • AntiDerpomeme

Oh hey, don’t get me wrong, anybody, regardless of income, should have access to quality birth control. It’s the word “mandatory” that got me riled.

          • Jen_Baker_VA

That is why I said they almost got it right XD And added the line about freedumbs.
Freedumbs for me not for you. Like the soup nazi, only with actual life instead of soup on the menu

You’re going to see some amazing things in terms of murder, my friends. You won’t believe how well we’re going to commit murder when I’m President. We’ll have the best people murdering for us. The rest of the world is laughing at us at how we can’t murder. Mexico is out-murdering us. By the way, our veterans are treated horribly. We have stupid people right now committing murders for us. They don’t know what they’re doing! Just stupid, stupid people committing these murders. . .

    • willi0000000

damn near pitch-perfect! . . . now if you can work in “classy” and “yooooge”…

  • Jen_Baker_VA

Now you libtards go and twist the words that are coming out of his mouth again. All he meant was to take their families out of our country and put them in camps if they have weird sounding names, in revenge on their sons or daughters or whatever doing bad things ™
Then when we are done rounding up the mooslims, we can round up the blah, and the joo and the hindoo, and all those other non christian types like the Catholics. Once we are done with that, we can get rid of the libtards and all their families (even their crazy uncle) and we can get their kids to report them to the newest school board member, the minister of ratting on your parents, and then, only then, will we truly be FREE.

    • For certain values of “we”…

      • Jen_Baker_VA

Snark Off: There’s something to this piece on why Trump is so appealing. It’s not simply that he taps into racism, etc. There’s a tremendous amount of fear and insecurity–normal, rational, thoroughly human reactions–that Trump’s bullshit seems to his audience to address. Yes, Trump’s supporters don’t understand a whole helluva lot about the world and how they got into the situation they’re in. But their worries and fears make several metric fuck tons of sense. And so I wonder just why it is we can’t seem to connect with the people who choose (a staggeringly stupid version of) fascism and other assorted right wing flavors over the alternatives we offer. What’s missing from our side of the equation that keeps people from turning our way instead of Reichward? Anyway, here’s the article: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/12/02/opinion/campaign-stops/donald-trumps-appeal.html?partner=rssnyt&emc=rss

Snark On: Hitler got Bristol pregnant with Ted Cruz’s little tiny dick and then they had ice cream but not a very good kind. Because Sarah is a cheap, stupid woman.

      • chicken thief

In ten years she’ll be buying ads to get people to listen to her screech.

    • Jen_Baker_VA

What is missing from our side?
I am going to just guess it is the lack of radical extremist racial epitaphs and that we do not mind so much the ghey, neither.

The reason Trump appeals to a small yet vocal portion of our country (and it is not even a majority of Republican voters yet, but there is still time) is because he tells them that it is not their fault and they don’t have to really do anything to better themselves, if they can only just get rid of these other people.

There have been a few other fellows who have used that same, precise, exact tactic. It worked those times, too.

      • TheOtherHeadlessThompsonGunner

I get what you’re saying, Jen_Etc., and I don’t disagree. But I think there’s more here to look at. I think that the racism, homophobia, etc. works not just because it appeals to his audience’s worse instincts. I think that stuff is tied up in something larger–if the claims in that NYT article are more or less true. The something larger is that such bullshit helps Trump’s audience “make sense” of the world and to hope for something better: get rid of the browns and the gheys and all that, and things will be better. So I don’t think that his audience is drawn to him just because they get to indulge in racism, etc. I think the racism, etc. is symptomatic of a desire for people who are confused and angry and insecure to feel like they understand the world and that they can be more secure if THESE THINGS are different.

Which is nonsense. We know that. But, again, unless we want to assume that Trump’s supporters are just essentially racist and all that, and that nothing can be done to persuade them to see things differently (which is the progressive version of Romney’s 47% thesis), then we need to ask why we haven’t been able to address the worries, fears, insecurities of these people.

I dunno. I for some reason just want to think that there’s more than just irremediable stupidity and hatred involved. But I’ll get over this oblique version of optimism soon enough.

        • Jen_Baker_VA

Well, no stupidity or hatred is truly irremediable anyway, but it would take a concentrated effort and a lot of education.
I do not even think they think it is racist, to be honest. I think they truly believe that liberals are traitors to their own kind (the white kind dig) and that they would be appalled and dismayed at being called a racist. And even give you reasons why they are so NOT (they have a blah friend, for example).
But when you strip away all the frill, pretty much you are left with a bunch of people who do not want to actually do anything to improve themselves. Indeed, they do not want to even admit there is anything to be improved, that their way is perfectly fine and fuck you if you suggest that there might be something not quite right with it.
In short: Fear and hate is really all they have.

          • nmmagyar

Hammer –> Nail. They have convinced themselves that so long as they aren’t yelling “N*gg*r” and W*tb*ck” at folks, they can’t be racist. Never mind that the policies they espouse are designed to keep “those people” in their places, by force if necessary (see Ferguson, et al). They have redefined racism to exclude any non-violent acts.

      • bupkus23

        “radical extremist racial epitaphs”
Perhaps you meant “epithets” – but your way might work, too, once the base starts murdering Mooslims ( or anyone who looks like they might be Mooslim ) left and right

      • Whale Chowder

There’s an interesting article on Vox regarding the same people in a slightly different context. I think the overlap in the Venn diagram between the angry, anti-gun-control people described in that article and the Trump fanbase is very large.

      • marxalot

Trump appeals to the men Pterry described as having a “bellyful of spite,” the low, mean people who cannot see anyone having something without it having been taken away from them, who play a zero sum game and lose anyway, who peeve and grumble and would kill if they thought they could get away with it.

    • nightmoth

Interesting op-ed, but I ? the Van Sustern idea that “to women, Trump represents security.” At some point in their lives, every woman has dealt with
a reckless blowhard like Trump, and I don’t see how he “represents security.”
But the article says Trump’s support is 8 times higher among men, especially poorly educated ones, and I can see that. I think Angry Hillary can out-trump Trump in bluntness, i.e. “telling it like it is” if it comes to that match.

Good point about Van Sustern. I agree that claim’s a little wobbly at best.

It’ll be interesting to see if Clinton can play that way much in the campaign. Because bitchy, because harpy, because shrill and emotional, etc.

        • nmmagyar

Hillz has enough experience not to come across as bitchy. Her best bet is to play it cool and calculated.

          • TheOtherHeadlessThompsonGunner

Here’s hoping. The media won’t do her any favors here (or on anything).

          • Whale Chowder

Yeah. That’s the big rap on Hillary (or as I like to call her, “future Mme. President”) — she’s too calculating and focus-group approved.

“Even” The Daily Show and The Nightly Show do it. Makes me crazy.

  • Relativicus

My thoughts, based on scattered and quite possibly incorrect circumstantial information, is that The Correct Sayed was radicalized by his baby mama. That’s my guess until I’m proven wrong (within moments, possibly).

    • Jen_Baker_VA

Hm, how would that jive with the MRA idea that men are only radicalized if they do not get da pussy?

      • natoslug

He only got to experience his mom’s, er, pussy, the once? Okay, I need a shower now.

      • zanzibar_buckbuck_mcfate

        Ohhhh I get it. It’s feminism’s fault!!

      • Relativicus

        Those guys…

Men can be radicalized for not getting da pussy, because they’re getting da pussy, because they’re chasing da pussy, because they lost da pussy, because they were embarrassed by da pussy… basically, any possible permutation of man’s never ending quest for da pussy can radicalize him.

        • Jen_Baker_VA

So, it isn’t Obama’s fault, it is all pussy’s fault.
          Thanks, Pussy! *shakes fist*

          • Relativicus

Oh, no. Nononono. It’s still Obama’s fault. The pussy…

          • Jen_Baker_VA

Obama IS the pussy that these guys are chasing!
So the MRA are all pretty much closet gays who lust after Obama? I somehow suspected that.
It’s the grin. Damn. And the abs. And the mom jeans.

Examples of Sippenhaft being used as a threat exist within the Wehrmacht from around 1943. Soldiers accused of having ‘blood impurities’ or soldiers conscripted from areas outside of Germany also began to have their families threatened and punished with Sippenhaft. An example is the case of Panzergrenadier Leiss, who was accused of desertion on the Eastern Front in December 1942. After the Düsseldorf Gestapo discovered supposed ‘Polish’ links in the Leiss family, in February 1943 his wife, child, two brothers, sister and brother-in-law were arrested and executed at Sachsenhausen concentration camp. By 1944, several general and individual directives were ordered within divisions and corps, threatening troops with consequences against their family. After 20 July 1944 these threats were extended to include all German troops and in particular, German commanders. A decree of February 1945 threatened death to the relatives of military commanders who showed what Hitler regarded as cowardice or defeatism in the face of the enemy. After surrendering Königsberg to the Soviets in April 1945, the family of the German commander General Otto Lasch were arrested. These arrests were publicized in the Völkischer Beobachter.

Once again this shows how unqualified the other gop candidates are. Turnip came out with this the others should have upped the ante. China used to(and N. Korea still does) kill the entire family to the third generation. Carson at the least should have claimed he would destroy the entire village that an attacker came from. Shows that Turnip is the one to back.

    • James Guillory

Third generation pish. Doesn’t the bible recommends punishing families to the seventh generation? These republican wimps need to step up their game if they want to keep up with their holy book.

      • Logic of Color

I’m pretty sure that the entirety of mankind is being currently being punished for when Adam got the nummies that one time, which of course makes perfect sense.

        • nmmagyar

I thought A) Women were the ones punished over the apple thing and B) shouldn’t the Great Flood have expunged our culpability for that along with all other pre-Flood sins??

          • Logic of Color

Many believe that Adam’s transgression survived and was passed along via Noah’s penile emissions into Mrs. Noah, hence the need to baptize babies. Eve was merely the temptress. Her sin was tempting Adam, which is why females can be raped and molested with impunity if they dress too comfortably.

          • nmmagyar

Not to attempt to insert logic into religion, but shouldn’t baptism then remove the stain that allows women to be raped with impunity?

          • Tansy Geek

No, it only let’s the baptized girl babies into heaven if they were raped and married their rapists.

          • Whale Chowder

That’s just crazy talk. If women can’t be raped with impunity civilization will collapse!

          • Logic of Color

Well no, God temporarily sacrificed his son to fix Adam’s fuck up. Eve is still a filthy temptress. When you baptize a baby girl she’s no longer to blame for Adam’s unthinkably horrible and deeply disturbing act (ate a fruit), but she remains fully capable of leading us idiot penis-thinkers to further ruin, even when wearing diapers, apparently, so we must treat all vagina-based humans like the temptresses that they are.

Given that there’s no immediate shortage of things to ridicule and despise Mr. Trump for, can we pretty please not buy in to the right-wing framing that Vietnam soldiers were “serving their country”? Most of them, I suspect, were “avoiding imprisonment or exile”. And whatever imperialist fuckery the Presidents of the time hoped to accomplish with the “service” wrung from the sweat and blood of 19 year old boys, Trump was no more obliged to give it to them than Bernie Sanders was.

Now if you want to insist on a moral distinction between different methods of “service” avoidance, go on with your bad Wonk-self. But the unexamined assumption that participation in the Pentagon Death Machine is fundamentally noble is causing a lot of misery for a lot of innocent people around the globe this very day. So I think we had better start examining it real hard.

I think the real issue is that Trump and others of his ilk did whatever they could to avoid going to Vietnam but have no qualms about sending other people to war. Chicken hawk sending other people’s kids to war because sure as that thing on Trump’s head is ugly, none of his kin are going to war.

      • JustDon’tSayDittos

        Exactly.

    • John Smith

In the early 60s, there were a lot of boys, many who died, believing they were serving their country, despite what came out later about the war. I won’t dishonor them, and their service because of you. It’s not their fault they believed their government.

      • chicken thief

Agreed. While the Viet Nam war became unpopular, many served even in the late stages believing they were doing the right thing. Hindsight being 20/20 does them no service.

        • John Smith

I really wanted to say a few more “less polite” things to this guy, but comments are not allowed here.

        • Ducksworthy

Although I do think there should be a line on the Viet Nam veterans’ memorial indicating that the following names were murdered by Richard Nixon after he sabotaged the Paris peace talks. An act LBJ describe as treason.

          • mailman27

And Repub. leader Everett Dirksen concurred.

      • Msmlg1979

I agree there’s nothing fundamentally noble about military service in general, because I think nobility is accomplished through specific acts. My Dad was one of those drafted 19 year old boys. Most of the boys that were of age in my home county were drafted or enlisted when they realized they were going to be drafted. They were poor. They were Appalachian. They were going to Vietnam. What were they going to do? Hide in caves in the mountains like their ancestors did to avoid forced conscription into the Civil War? Most would have died the first winter. There’s a great song called “Copperhead Road”, by Steve Earle, written about my home county. He sings “I volunteered for the army on my birthday. They draft the white trash first round here anyway”. That’s how it was here. There was no money to run. Most, like my Dad, had hardly been outside the “holler” they lived in. Many had little or no education. They didn’t have a rich daddy “out” like Trump did, and while you can hardly blame a young man for using every tool at his disposal to avoid dying, some people simply had no good option. Being told they were doing the honorable thing was all they had to hold onto.

        • John Smith

I’m from West Virginia. I can relate.

      • Msmlg1979

that there would make a rousing speech at your local VFW!

    • Angry_Cop

It’s not right-wing framing. They stepped up when asked/ordered. It’s not their fault that they were lied to by their government, and not their fault that they believed those lies when there was no countervailing source of information.

I’ve got no problem with anyone who didn’t go, and like you feel this is not an appropriate line of attack on Trump – or any political figure, really. But I also have no issues with anyone who went.

      • pstockholm

You would extend the same consideration to all soldiers of all countries in all wars or smaller conflicts?

      • marxalot

The real problem with Trump is, once again, hypocrisy. He didn’t go, he worked that Rich White Boy angle to get out of it, fine, it was a shit war and no one should die in a hole for John Fucking Foster Dulles. But then he turns around and says that military school was like serving in the Army, and that we wants to send other children to die and kill in a futile power struggle, which makes him an asshole hypocrite as well as a Rich Boy who dodged the draft without moving zip codes much less fleeing the country, so no, not cool.

    • zerosumgame0005

bull-fucking-SHIT! if someone dodged the draft I have no issue with that at all. If that someone also advocated for other people fighting what your to chicken-shit to do then you are a Chicken-hawk just like child-molester Ted Nugent is. avoid serving all you want but don’t be gung-ho and scream for other people go in your place.

Oh there’s bigger problems than killing Farooq’s brother. Many significant families (as in royals, moguls, etc) in the Gulf have members, however distantly related, implicated in some act of extremism or other, beginning, most famously, with the bin Ladens, which our security agencies reportedly helped evacuate from the US after 9/11. These aren’t just citizens of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, etc, they are often the people who rule those countries. Heck, in Qatar, Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani himself (the lately retired Emir of Qatar) was, at various points, alleged to have links to terror groups, so I guess all of Qatar would be toast under Trumpenfuhrer.

Then there’s the slight problem of what is going on in Turkey, which is in NATO and almost certainly has various officials and their families that allegedly have contacts with people we label terror groups of one type of another (whether of the PKK or the ISIS persuasion).

We’d basically have to take out much of the leadership of all of our allies in the region.

Maybe that’s Trump’s real strategy: just turn the region into glass?

    • Hardly Ideal

*shrug* Hey, it could be said that the perfect state of harmony is non-existence.

  • Steve Kasian

See now, Kaili Joy Gray, ya just can’t seem to publish anything without outright lying. Trump has never said anything about “killing terrorist’s families dead”. In fact, he’s never said anything that included the words “kill terrorists families”, in any combination or format. He simply stated that terrorists families should be “taken out”. He was even grilled countless times about that statement, and never once confirmed what the media wanted him to confirm: that he wanted terrorists families killed. He hedged on his answer, specifically because he knew exactly what he said, and that none of it included the words “kill” (in any form of future, present or past tense), “murder” (same), “executed” (same), or any other variation of the term. “Taken out” can mean just about anything one wants it to mean, and for you or anyone to insist that you know exactly what Trump meant by those words- particularly when Trump himself refused to characterize his intent as any form of “killing” – is complete and utter dishonesty.

“President Trump”. Get used to it! LOLzzzzzzzzzz

    • Enfant Terrible

‘When I use a word,’ Steve Kasian said, in rather a scornful tone, ‘it means just what I choose it to mean — neither more nor less.’

‘The question is,’ said Steve Kasian, ‘which is to be master — that’s all.’
