Ben Carson Will Defund Commie Liberal Colleges, Because Freedom

You have to love Ben Carson's commitment to fight the forces of Political Correctness, because he knows the greatest threat to freedom is all these crazy liberals and their insistence that you can't be in favor of guns or Jesus or lasers or Jesus with a laser gun. He won't give away gun rights for the sake of political correctness, and he certainly won't accept evolution as science, since it's another politically correct lie. He also has pretty much had it with the Geneva Conventions, since there's "no such thing as a politically correct war" -- which is not to say he wants to overturn the Nuremberg tribunals, though, since they ended with some gun-grabbers swinging at the end of a rope.

In an interview with Glenn Beck Wednesday, Carson made clear once again why he isn't your average Republican. Where most of the candidates would eliminate the Department of Education, he'd keep it around and use it to fight Political Correctness, by having the agency investigate and eliminate funding for colleges and universities where there's "extreme political bias."

Here he is, saying things that come into his broken brain again. The Department of Education bit comes at 3: 30:

Beck: Shut down the Department of Education?

Carson: I actually have something I would use the Department of Education to do.

Beck: Would it be pack boxes for the State Department? The IRS?

Carson: It would be to monitor our institutions of higher education for extreme political bias and deny federal funding if it exists.

Beck: [mumbled, but something like "They're not gonna like that."]

Because it was "rapid-fire" question time, Beck didn't follow up at all, but we certainly look forward to Carson's inevitable insistence that his promise to use the Department of Education to crack down on "extreme political bias" isn't really a call for government control of speech or an intrusion on academic freedom. Why, no, not at all! It's just those liberals twisting his words, which he said quite plainly. And considering all the things Carson considers "extreme," like the theory of evolution, universities better start telling their biology departments to watch their step once President Carson is sworn in. If they can stop giggling.

So far, it's been a great campaign for small-government conservatives. Mike Huckabee wants to use the FBI and National Guardto shut down abortion clinics, which are still legal; Donald Trump thinks we need to "look at" closing down mosques if there are any radicals in them, and now Ben Carson will use the power of the federal government to police university curricula. Remember, these are the same folks who went batshit insane when the IRS asked some rightwing groups to prove that they were really nonprofits, and then approved their applications anyway.
