No one to blame but herself
FACT : Carly Fiorina is a liar-liar-pantsuit-on-fire LIAR. She's been lying for more than a week about watching a fetus snuff flick that does not exist, as everyone in the known universe has pointed out to her, from the liberal(ish) splainers at Vox to the wingnut mouth-breathers at Fox, and all your moms in between. But is she like, "Oops, ya caught me, my campaign regrets the error that was made by me"? Heavens to Betsy, no! Instead, she's getting as mad as her Botoxed persona will allow because the mean media has taken note of her lies and will not stop pointing out how she will not stop lying.
[contextly_sidebar id="DIDAwuoLVq4dbeiX3tntCOrDLkupVnR0"]
Fiorina said, at the second Republican debate, that she saw video of a Planned Parenthood medical provider leaving an aborted fetus on a table -- to die!!! -- while discussing how to harvest its BRAINZZZZZ! Asked to provide this alleged video she says she saw that she could not have seen because it does not exist, her campaign instead pointed to old stock footage that has nothing to do with fetus-snuffing at Planned Parenthood and said, "See? It's a video, it's got a fetus in it, DEFUND PLANNED PARENTHOOD." Except that video only proves no one on Carly's staff could locate this mythical damning Planned Parenthood video she says she saw -- either because everyone on her staff is very bad at doing the Google, or, alternately, THE FUCKING VIDEO DOES NOT FUCKING EXIST.
So now, instead of backing down because she has been smoking gun red-handed BUSTED, Fiorina has said the issue of whether this "Planned Parenthood" "video" is actually a video taken at Planned Parenthood is a mere "technicality." No, seriously, that's the horse crap she's peddling now, to explain how she is not a liar just for repeatedly saying lies:
"Interestingly, no one has denied that babies are being butchered for their body parts at Planned Parenthood clinics and elsewhere," she said as supporters clapped. "They're trying to have a conversation about a technicality about a video tape. The character of this nation cannot be about butchery of babies for body parts."
[ Technical note : Medical professionals do not typically refer to abortions, which are legal, as "butchery of babies." Sure, you can say it that way, for dramatic effect, but it doesn't make the procedure any less legal. It just makes you sound like a stupid dick. Kind of like how if you described Dr. Ben Carson's surgical career as "butchering baby brains," you'd sound like a stupid dick. It's like that.]
On Sunday's "Meet the Press," Chuck Todd offered her the opportunity to admit that she has never seen the video she says she saw because no such thing exists and asked if she is "willing now to concede that you exaggerated that scene?" But did she admit that she exaggerated, or claim that she had seen some sort of video but, even though a mere technicality, it was not in fact taken at Planned Parenthood? Heck no. She triple-downed on her double-down:
CARLY: No, not at all. That scene absolutely does exist, and that voice saying what I said they were saying, “We're going to keep it alive to harvest its brain” exists as well. Here's the thing. Yesterday --
CHUCK: You saw that moment on the tape?
CARLY: Yes, and I would challenge Planned Parenthood. … Planned Parenthood will not and cannot deny this because it is happening. It is happening in this nation.
But that's a lie. All of the investigations into those few Planned Parenthood clinics who even participate in fetal tissue extraction and donation have found zero evidence of wrongdoing. And, as even the strongest opponents of Planned Parenthood who have smeared this stock footage across the internet have admitted, this one supposedly damning clip -- of a young fetus on a table -- was not taken at Planned Parenthood. But not Carly. She's clinging to a lie that is too absurd even for the extremist anti-choice activists. Which is really saying something.
CHUCK: The footage you describe at best is a re-enactment. The videos -- even the people that made the videos admitted stock footage, yet you went right along and said it's Planned Parenthood.
CARLY: Chuck, Chuck, Chuck, do you think this is not happening?
And to top it off, she has now joinedthe ranks of the wingnuttiest wingnuts in a party of wingnuts, calling for Congress to defund Planned Parenthood, or shut down the government. Which, given that 2013 shutdown cost the U.S. economy $24 billion , really shows off Carly's renowned business sense, don't you think? Not to mention that the idea is extremely unpopular; a new Quinnipiac University Poll shows 69 percent of voters -- including a majority of Republicans -- oppose shutting down the government over Planned Parenthood. Costly and unpopular! Yeah, that sounds like Carly.
Just to make the hole she's in that much deeper, the Carly For America super PAC released an ad in her defense that ... well ... it doesn't really help her, technically speaking. Tell us why, The Nation:
Since it’s not actually possible to watch the footage Fiorina described, the PAC supporting her recently tried to create it. A heavily-edited one-minute video posted to YouTube on Saturday and emailed to her supporters contains clips of Fiorina at the debate, interspersed with images and audio cobbled together from a variety of sources. There’s an image that seems to be a fetus with its limbs moving, but it’s not from Planned Parenthood ; it’s from the Grantham Collection and Center for Bio-Ethical Reform, two anti-abortion groups known for creating misleading graphics. The audio, meanwhile, was taken from an unrelated clip from CMP. The video then cuts to an image of a stillborn baby that again has nothing to do with Planned Parenthood, and was used without the permission of the parent. [Emphasis added, mostly for Carly's benefit.]
So because, as we said, THE FUCKING VIDEO DOES NOT FUCKING EXIST, Team Carly decided to just make its own. Stock footage plus Carly doing her MAD FACE at the debate, and voila! She has been vindicated and Planned Parenthood is guilty, just like she said, and now we must defund it, even though that's actually a terrible and terribly unpopular idea that would cost taxpayers even more money. (And again, let us marvel at Carly's terrific fiscally conservative business sense.) And if we don't do like she says, based on the video she hallucinated from sniffing too much toner, well then, for shame, Bamz and Hillz and America, FOR SHAME!
But really? For shame, Carly , for lying to push an extremist agenda, which would harm millions of women, and continuing to push that lie even when it has been proven to be a lie. And then having the audacity to blame anyone but herself for being caught in her lies. FOR SHAME!

This Planned Parenthood nonsense is much too much like the crackpot nurse in Illinois who claimed babies were taken out of incubators to die.
Of course it was a lie! And then she claimed Chinese people (in China) actually ate babies.
Did that stop the Regressives from believing her? And using the lie to make a feeble attempt to throw shade on Mr. Obama? You already know the answer to that one...
She had a double mastectomy so, yes, her boobs are fake. Not trying to give her any support but just needed to say that.
