Why does everyone undersell the younger generations?

Keep in mind that thirty-five is the minimum age to run for president.[1] What happened thirty-five years ago this year? Yes, yes, America was Illumined by the Apotheosis of Saint Ron. Walker is kind of a forerunner for that cohort. In 2020, they'll be approaching forty, those kids brought up on "trees cause pollution" and "we start the bombing in five minutes."

Future historians may look back and say, "Trump? Who? Oh, Trump! Yeah, he was pretty good, really before his time, in a lot of ways! Naive, of course, pretty rough, even, even primitive, by our standards, but sure, we can call him the first of the Entertainment-First Candidates!"

[1] Thirty-five year olds generally do not run for president. Or at least know to wear Old People clothes, tell Old People jokes, and forge birf cetruffle-kates if they do.

This is presumably why he had all the trouble in Scotland? I'm now trying to imagine what would happen if someone were to build a yooooooooge hotel in New York, and put its name in enormous gold letters on the front: F A R T

*sigh* If only I could photoshop.
