I calculate the half-life of their stoopid at approximately 36.32 years. Since Crawford is well into his 2nd round of decay, his stoopid levels had to have been near lethal levels to have so much remaining at this point in his life. Let's hope he gets to spend the rest of his time living out his remaining half-lives in a nice containment vessel far enough away so that the inverse square rule means he won't be a danger to anyone else for a long time.

Which gives me an opportunity to tell my dad's (mechanical engineer) favorite joke: An electrical engineer, a chemical engineer and a civil engineer are sitting in a bar, arguing about what kind of engineer God is.

"It's obvious that God is an electrical engineer," says the EE. "All your muscle movements. all the thoughts in your head, those are electrical impulses traveling along perfectly designed pathways."

"That's ridiculous," says the chemical engineer. "That's not electricity, those are chemical reactions. And so is DNA replication, and human development, and hormonal control, and everything. So God is *definitely* a chemical engineer." Then he hears their companion chuckling under his breath. "And what are you sniggering at - you can't possibly believe that God is a civil engineer?"

"Yep," said the CE, grinning at his indignant companions, "I know he is. Only a civil engineer would put a waste treatment plant right next to a recreation area."

I'll be here all week . . . *g*
