Senate Republicans tried to kill Planned Parenthood. Again. It didn’t work. Again. It will never work. Women will give all their monies and hold their breaths until they turn blue to keep their favorite ladyparts healthcare provider alive and well. Just ask President Mitt Romney, who promised to get rid of it, and had his robotic ass gift-wrapped and served to him with a shiny bow, by women. Because women friggin’ LOVE Planned Parenthood, and they friggin’ HATE when Republicans try to take it away from them. Oh, and they also hate Mitt Romney, but who doesn’t?

The Senate floor flooded with the tears of men, who love the little babies and the little ladies. Like Sen. James Lankford (R-The Other Asshole From Oklahoma), who said he has daughters! And a mom! And trying to defund Planned Parenthood is — yes, REAL QUOTE HERE — “a men’s issue.”

Fuck him. Fuck all of them. They lost, which is what matters most. That doesn’t mean they won’t try again; they will. They will try forever and ever and then some. Did we mention fuck them? Because fuck them some more.

Here is your nice time silver lining, though: a most excellent speech from Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Our Blessed Saint of Progressive Badassery. She lays it all out, professor-style, the way she does. The way we love. Here are all of her words, for you to read and fap to:

I come to the Senate floor today to ask my Republican colleagues a question: Do you have any idea what year it is? Did you fall down, hit your head, and think you woke up in the 1950s? Or the 1890s? Should we call for a doctor? Because I simply cannot believe that in the year 2015, the United States Senate would be spending its time trying to defund women’s healthcare centers.

You know, on second thought, maybe I shouldn’t be surprised. The Republicans have had a plan for years to strip away women’s rights to make choices over our own bodies. Just look at the recent facts.

In 2013, Republicans threatened to shut down the government unless they could change the law to let employers deny women access to birth control.

In March of this year, Republicans held up a non-controversial bipartisan bill to stop human trafficking. Why? Because they demanded new anti-abortion restrictions to cover private funding meant to help the victims of human trafficking.

In June, House Republicans passed a budget eliminating funding for the Title X family planning program — the only federal grant program that provides birth control, HIV tests, STD screening, and other preventive services for poor and uninsured people.

Over the past few years, Republicans have voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act more than 50 times, including the portions that require insurers to cover contraception.

And let’s be clear: It’s not just Congress. Over the past five years, Republican state legislators have passed nearly 300 new restrictions on abortion access. This year alone, Republican state legislators have passed more than 50 new restrictions on women’s access to legal healthcare.

So Madam President, let’s be really clear about something. The Republican scheme to defund Planned Parenthood is not some sort of surprised response to a highly edited video. Nope! The Republican vote to defund Planned Parenthood is just one more piece of a deliberate, methodical, orchestrated, rightwing attack on women’s rights. And I’m sick and tired of it. Women everywhere are sick and tired of it. The American people are sick and tired of it.

Scheduling this vote during the week of a big Fox News presidential primary debate, days before candidates take trips to Iowa or New Hampshire, isn’t just some clever gimmick. This is an all-out effort to build support to take away a woman’s right to control her own body and access to medical care she may need.

Now this affects all of us. Whatever your age, wherever you live, I guarantee that you know someone who has used Planned Parenthood health centers. No one may mention it at Thanksgiving dinner or paste it on Facebook for the whole world to know. But just look at the facts. One in five women in America is a Planned Parenthood patient at least once in her life. Every single year, nearly 2.7 million women and men show up for help at Planned Parenthood.

Why do so many people use Planned Parenthood? Because they’re non-profit, and they’re open. More than half of Planned Parenthood centers are located in areas without ready access to healthcare.

Women who can’t get appointments anywhere else go to Planned Parenthood for pap tests and cancer screening. Couples go to Planned Parenthood for STD treatments or pregnancy tests. Young people go to Planned Parenthood for birth control. And yes, 3 percent of patients visit Planned Parenthood for a safe and legal abortion, with a doctor who will show compassion and care for a woman who is making one of the most difficult decisions of her entire life.

But just to be clear, even though the abortions performed at Planned Parenthood are safe and legal, the federal government is not paying for any of them. Not. One. Dime.

For almost 40 years, the federal government has prohibited federal funding for abortions, except in the case of rape, incest, or life endangerment. Most of the money Planned Parenthood receives from the government comes in the form of Medicaid patients, for medical care provided to low-income patients. The same payments that any other doctor or clinic receives for providing cancer screenings or other medical exams.

The rest of Planned Parenthood’s federal funding comes from Title X. It provides birth control to low-income and uninsured people. The same program the House Republicans voted to cut in June.

The government doesn’t fund abortions. Period. A vote today to defund Planned Parenthood is not a vote to defund abortions. It’s a vote to defund cancer screenings and birth control and basic healthcare for millions of women.

I want to say to my Republican colleagues: The year is 2015. Not 1955, and not 1895. Women have lived through a word where backward-looking ideologues tried to interfere with the basic health decisions made by a woman and her doctor, and we are not going back. Not now, not ever.

The Republican plan to defund Planned Parenthood is a Republican plan to defund women’s healthcare. For my daughter, for my granddaughters, for people all across Massachusetts and all across this country, I stand with Planned Parenthood. And I hope my colleagues will do the same.

Fuckin’ A, Senator. Now buy an Elizabeth Warren T-shirt, and wear it with pride.

    Warren/Sanders 2016! Wouldn’t that be a great eight years?

    • AntiDerpomeme

I know what you mean, but I’ll be perfectly happy with her spending many fruitful years in the Senate, keeping things moving forward.

      • willi0000000

Sanders/Biden or Biden/Sanders works . . . or Michelle Obama in either spot with either one.

Thanks, Wonkette, for reminding me to send the monies to Planned Parenthood. And for reminding me why Elizabeth Warren is so awesome.

  • memzilla

Oddly enough, it would not be a violation of Commenting Rules For Radicals to wish that Senator Warren had brought a bazooka-size Super Soaker filled with cat pee and hosed down the entire Rethuglican side of the Senate as she spoke.

    • Ryan Denniston

Cat pee . Pretty close to the line though :)

      • memzilla

I’m talking cat pee from cats eating a diet of anchovies, asparagus, and garlic. Cat pee so intense that it warps floorboards, wilts flowers, and dissolves varnish. Nuclear cat pee.

        • I got plenty of that in my cat box right now, if you need any. I’ll throw in the cats for free.

Elizabeth Warren To GOP: Exactly How Stupid Are You?

    All of the Stupid, Katie.

    • Modern instruments are incapable of measuring such a large amount of stupid, so really we’re just working with theoretical measurements.

      • SnarkOff

        It’s a quantum stupid.

It’s a white hole of stupid.

This is why the Gohmert Scale of Terminal Stupidity was established, but it’s parameters have to be constantly adjusted upwards.

        • It’s like rampant hyperinflation: once you’re issuing trillion-dollar (or whatever) notes as running around money, nothing makes sense anymore.

      • H0mer0

      • lucidamente

        String theory stupid.

    • Ryan Denniston

I’m trying to remember the conversion factors here. How many Bachmanns in a Gohmert? Is Gohmert like, a $100, or a $50?

      • Tansy Geek

I believe a Gohmert is currently the gold-standard in stupid, followed closely by a Steve King, then a Bachmann, then a Cotton. After that I get overwhelmed by the degrees of stupid. There is a whole separate scale for stupid amoung the presidential candidates and for real, weapons grade stupid, another scale for pundits and media personalities.

        • MrBlobfish

You forgot to carry the Inhofe.

          • Tansy Geek

That’s exactly where I got stuck. I could determine if he was dumber than a Cotton or less stupid that’s a Rand Paul.

        • SnarkOff

I feel like Bachmann is more of the crazy, not the stupid. I don’t think you can add crazy and stupid, which are slightly different variables.

          • Tansy Geek

True, there needs to be a separate bat shit scale. Bachmann would be up near the top, if not number one. I can’t really tell if Gohmert is stupid or nuts or both.

  • Ryan Denniston

“The Republicans have had a plan for years to strip away women’s rights to make choices over our own bodies.”

This has always been the issue, whatever the reasons they purport to care about. Incidentally, this is the same group of igits that fought against treating men and women the same from an insurance perspective when it came to issues like covering pregnancy. Because, after all, men can’t get pregnant, why should they pay for something they’ll never use. Why, what do they even have TO DO with pregnancy?

This morning on NPR there was a story about Bobby Jindal trying to keep Medicade from paying for Planned Parenthood services because of that nice informative video. A throwaway line in the story was “Planned Parenthood does not provide abortion services in Louisiana.” Not that that matters.

    • SnarkOff

Not to dis you for the typo, but “Medicade” cracks me up. I’m imagining a federal-government-funded medicinal lemonade.

      • alwayspunkindrublic

A nice, free beverage to wash down those SNAP card crab legs.

      • Latverian Diplomat

Honestly, I’d rather get health care coverage through a seven year old with a sidewalk stand than a typical insurance company. I mean, the mark up on those little dixie cups of lemonade can be brutal, but it can’t be worse than what the insurance companies get away with. And the service is much friendlier.

        • JohnQFugly

Insurance companies are only part of a massive, compounded problem that has been evolving for decades (it’s not as simple as insurance companies marking things up, directly turning a profit)…they also put a lot of effort into reducing cost, esp. what’s associated with covered services and procedures). ACA was a necessary step towards leveling costs, and thus, prices to consumers, but we have a long way to go. I want to see the pharma scheme get fixed next.

          • Latverian Diplomat

Fair enough, but before ACA, most of the “effort into reducing cost” was refusing to cover sick people, denying coverage in other ways, and hassling doctors for providing too much care in many cases. It was not the kind of beneficial cost reduction the capitolism fairie was supposed to provide. ACA has helped with some of that, and maybe they will start making a positive contribution now, but based on past behavior, I would still prefer to see them out of the healthcare picture.

          • JohnQFugly

Sorry, I blanched the “reducing costs” statement more than intended. You’re correct; what you’ve described is a simplified, but very accurate depiction of how cost reduction works in healthcare. ACA is so “late” it will initially do more harm than good, mostly because the majority of Americans can’t see the big picture, esp. after negative changes to (or rejections of) their plans. If the plan hurts my lifestyle or livelihood, I’m pissed and ready to blame the asshats who passed ACA into reality and don’t care what it means at a national level in the long term.

    • Latverian Diplomat

Ugh. So much of the news coverage on this story has been terrible, including NPR, which I had on in the car yesterday while running errands. Their capsule summary of the Senate debate, ended with “Planned Parenthood denies doing anything illegal.”, which, while true, was just about the most mafia-esque way of framing it they could use.

Of course the outrage is objectively fake, and the video is objectively phony and misleading, but explaining that would be real journalism that might upset people. “So let’s just summarize what both sides said, and better give a little more air time to the Republican statements, because we don’t want to be accused of bias.” Gah. So infuriating.

      • Lizzietish81

NPR is now owned by the Koch Brothers.

        • AncienReggie

Or maybe the previous pope. NPR’s coverage of abortion issues is conflicted, at best, way the other side of “even-handed.”

        That’s a kind of progress, I s’pose.

  • Barbara Delaney

God, how I love her! No bullshit, no doublespeak, just truth! Unvarnished, common sense that even an idiot, a.k.a., a republican, can understand.

I’ve used the services of a Planned Parenthood, found out I was pregnant, it was welcome news to me and they were absolutely wonderful. No one tried to convince me to abort, they offered help to get prenatal care and gave me a freebie pack of prenatal vitamins to get started. I’ve taken friends there for a myriad of reasons and they always helped and it was affordable.

I wish there were a hundred more like Elizabeth, this is what a politician should look and sound like. I’m so tired of the republican head injury playhouse.

    • alwayspunkindrublic

Are you suggesting that an elected politician should address the needs and well-being of the citizenry? Burn her, she’s a witch!!

    • Bearpaw01

Yep, more Democrats like her, please!

And — as a cis-male — I’d like to say with gratitude that I too have used the services of Planned Parenthood. I stand with them.

  • AnOuthouse

Unfortunately Elizabeth, every thing you said will rally their base even more. They love to make someone else’s life shittier than their own.

    • Thatsitfor Theotherwon

Like Sen. James Lankford (R-The Other Asshole From Oklahoma), who said he has daughters! And a mom! And trying to defund Planned Parenthood is — yes, REAL QUOTE HERE — “a men’s issue.”

Well it is “a men’s issue,” though not in the sense he intends. Defunding Planned Parenthood is essential to moving us forward to the days when breast and cervical cancer were untreatable, when women routinely died in childbirth and when forward was backward. You know, the good old days.

    • A Bashful Nobody

Well, he is from Oklahoma (shudder).

      • Mehmeisterjr

It’s just as well Rodgers and Hammerstein had never been to Oklahoma before writing the musical. They would have written something closer to “Sweeney Todd” or “Assassins.”

Perhaps we should start by limiting cialis and viagra prescriptions…make men who take such sluttish drugs into pariahs…regulate all their sex activities, shame them constantly for even thinking about sex…you get the idea. What is good for the goose, so to speak, is certainly good for the gander.

        • nanoot

Okay, food for thought, maybe. Why is it that the worst thing you can do to ridicule a man… is to compare him to a woman? Seems to me we’re buying into a different pile of the same old crap. Just sayin’.

          • I don’t think you’ll find Trump insults to be comparisons to women, nor Christie’s, Perry’s et. al. It’s specifically Graham. And there’s a specific reason for that. He’s effeminate. And single. And old. And doesn’t have a very good record towards LGBT rights. So it’s fair to remind everyone of this.

          • nanoot

There’s nothing wrong with being single, old or effeminate. His legislative record, however, is fair game.

          • Of course there isn’t. Except for when you vote against the LGBT community with this as your background.

Also, the gender-insult thing goes both directions. If a woman is described as manly, that’s not praise.

          • nanoot

Yep, the clown bus is full of hypocrites in their own right. It’ll be interesting (and/or depressingly predictable) to watch the racist rhetoric of the Obama years slide over to sexism if Hillary has a good long run.

          • Thatsitfor Theotherwon

I’m not comparing him to a woman. I’m comparing him to the self-hating, closeted gay man he likely is.

  • She mad. So’m I.

  • janecita

Republican men are awful, but Republican women are the absolute worst! I really don’t understand, how a woman could be complicit in the destruction of their own reproductive choices. It depresses the hell out of me to see that there are so many women that hate their own gender. We should clone Ms. Warren, and replace every single Republican woman with a clone.

    • Enfant Terrible

Don’t know who said this, but it goes something like “Weak women beat down; strong women build up”. Republican women don’t build up. I leave the conclusion as an exercise for the reader.

    • Daniel P

I can answer that. I have a friend who is a woman in her late 30s. Grew up and lived rural. Had two kids at a very young age and raised them, putting herself through college, then sent them to college. She is now divorced and reformed. She explained it to be this way:

“When you have kids and live where I did, you’re scared of everything, and you just want someone to make you feel less scared with the simplest message possible.”

That statement explains everything. You’re isolated and undereducated, with children to care for and raise and just generally scared. So the simpler message with an easily identifiable enemy makes it easy for you to surrender your rights for a little security.

Republicans know their message and know their audience, and they press the right buttons. It is no coincidence that the rubes that buy this message are female, poor, rural, white and married.

      • Land Shark

“If you ain’t got two kids by 21,
        You’re probably gonna die alone.

I haven’t looked online yet, but I am curious as to the reactions of her fellow Democrats. Did any stand beside her and defend her comments?

    • Jill122

46 was the total vote. There are 44 democrats in the Senate and we already know that Joe Manchin voted with the republicans.

I found an anti-abortion cite that lists which senator voted which way (McConnell on our side!! Graham didn’t vote!).

      http://www.lifenews.com/2015/08/03/democrats-defeat-senate-effort-to-de-fund-planned-parenthood-after-it-sells-aborted-babies/

      • dshwa

McConnell voting on our side doesn’t mean anything. Harry Reid did the same thing all the time, it’s a procedural trick that lets him bring it back up again later if he wants.

        • Jill122

Yep, you’re absolutely correct. I forgot about that!

          Well, double yuck.

  • Jason M

One of the most exciting things about her speech is that as I was listening to it, I realized there is absolutely no one capable of giving one like that on the opposing side.

    • mrpuma2u

The other side is (mostly) only capable of spewing sound bytes (rally round the family and the like) and not passionate, fact based speech-a-fyin’ at which Sen. Warren so excels.

  • The GOP will slash government until it is just big enough to hand out corporate welfare checks and to police doctors and women to stop abortions…

  • She should have asked how stoopid they were for believing the video.

She should dare them to come out and make the statement that they believe PP is a get rich quick scheme by selling baby parts so she can shove it in their faces later.

She should spend most of her time directly quoting from the record whenever these idiots lie at the podium.

    • Pugsandcoffee

The problem is their base DOES believe this, so saying it doesn’t have political consequences where it hurts (their pockets).

  • Candy Apple

I’m completely heterosexual, but in spite of that, I think I may have a huge gay crush on Elizabeth Warren.

    • Lei Zarycki

You don’t have to qualify your crushes. It is okay to love freely without having to question your sexuality and being gay isn’t wrong.

  • jmk

Jesus Cheeses, that’s one damn fine speech. Just reading it made my heart go pitterpat.

  • Robyn Ryan

Military women who want to end a pregnancy are screwed royally by the Hyde amendment. No military medical facility is allowed to provide a pregnant soldier with help. She must find a provider (in Afghanistan) make her own arrangements for transport, take leave, abandon her unit and return to face the public consequences.

If you want to know why women in the military are hated, start right here.

      • Jill122

Wait til the republicans start threatening Medicare! You’ll see how they line up. Bush has already made that campaign promise. And Ryan will follow up with cutting off social security. Unless they’ve gotten really selfish, I think at least some of them will NOT want their children and grand children left out in the cold.

  • Pugsandcoffee

Gosh, purty little ladies, if you could just stop bein’ so ‘motional ’bout this stuff, you’d see us menz only want what’s best for you and your babby (before it’s borned)

  • Uptown James

I like her very much. Wish women would stop voting against their own self-interest; they keep supporting these Old White Men who are hell-bent on paying them less money, controlling their bodies, & denying some of them the right to vote.

    • Jill122

Women who hate (compete with) women are dying out. The younger generation just isn’t like this. Perhaps it’s because they experience more freedom; perhaps they’re just a lot smarter. I find a lot of hope when I speak to young women who are in control and plotting their own futures. And we have their mothers AND fathers to thank for that kind of thinking. I believe we are getting there.

      • Uptown James

Gawd, I hope so. I’m having a lot of fun watching some young women be very successful here in Minneapolis, opening & running businesses like bakeries, gourmet donut shops & restaurants. And they hire cool young guys to work for them who want to cook or bake. The whole scenario is very fun and cool: the Boys are cool with taking direction from the Girls bc they just want to cook or bake and the Girls, while they have some culinary skills, are all about running a successful business.

now can we have that much passion from the organizations who rely on the tissue to continue their research? where is the outrage for the organizations that USE THE TISSUE? Why aren’t the GOPers trying to defund them? hmmmmm? too much stock in that big pharma company? Alzheimer’s drugs for my family but not for thee?

    • Terri

Oddly, the screaming has just recently started although fetal tissue research has been going on since the 1930s. When it got connected to women’s right to make their own reproductive decisions, though, it hit the fan. Some people are just sick and tired of women making their own decisions and they’re not gonna take it anymore.

      • artem1s

the only thing that is going to fix the faux outrage over reproductive rights is to get the average person to understand how it impact them personally. when Rush attacked Sandra Fluke, when Komen tried to defund PP, the up-rise was not only from women who use the pill but also from family members who would be affected if the services went away. If PP wants the public to understand that using fetal tissue isn’t the same as harvesting organs from the neo-natal unit, they and the researchers who depend on it have to start talking about it frankly and openly. I find it offensive that a trained doctor has to apologize for talking about actual medical procedures in a scientific, factual, and dispassionate way. We have to stop with the flowery unicorn crap. abortion is a medical procedure just like prostate surgery or heart valve replacement. No cardiac surgeon is required to talk about dead heart tissue like is imbued with extra special fairy pixie dust. Used to be you couldn’t talk about homosexuality or STDs on TV. HIV changed all that. Too bad if someones fee fees get offended. Take off the kid gloves. Medicine is medicine even if its happening in someone’s ladybits.

  • Don’t these politicians realize that for every woman who uses Planned Parenthood’s services, somewhere there is a husband, father, boyfriend or lover who also wants his woman to use these services?

The scriptures say that the man has sovereignty over his own woman, so by telling woman they can’t use Planned Parenthood, they are taking away the MAN’s choice too!

But no, these politicians expect every woman to obey them as if THEY were the woman’s husband — AND THEY’RE NOT.

    • Wee Mousie

As political, intellectual, and spiritual “leaders,” they are not adverse to having men obeying them, but what with freedum, paternalism and run-a-muck ammosexuality, they just don’t possess a sufficiently malleable philosophy to give voice to it.

She is an extremely selfish person for not running for office. We need her and she refuses to rise to the call.

    • Terri

She already has the office where she is currently the most effective. If everybody we like in Congress runs for president, we’ll only have another Obama situation where we love the prez but Congress hates the prez and tries to block everything. We need Warren where she is right now, to gain experience and more track record (not speeches, but activity) before she runs for president.

      • eric

It can go the other way too. She may stay too long in congress and become corrupt.

        • Wee Mousie

It is possible to remain in congress (or the Senate) for a goodly length of time without becoming corrupt, although that IS the way the smart money bets.

  • Zyxomma

I’ve been job hunting, unsuccessfully, here in NYC. This was such an awe-inspiring speech that I went to Planned Parenthood’s website to see if there’s anything available for which I’m qualified. All they’ve got is HR Coordinator, and I’m going to apply. Their executive offices are walking distance from home. Since I’ve not even gotten an interview from all the jobs I’ve applied for online, I think I’ll print out a resume and drop it off. I’ve never used the software the job requires, but I’m a really, really fast learner.

  • TheTrue Pooka

Oh I love her so much but I wish she would be careful with the “most difficult decision talk” – it plays into some very bad thinking. I get she can’t be seen to be taking the subject lightly but still.

    • jmk

I know what you mean… if you emphasize “the most difficult decision” thing, it just gives the wingnuts fodder for their false claim that it has lasting negative psychological effects.

  • AncienReggie

Erick ibn Erick had this to say on his little right-wing giggle blog:

“The current fight over Planned Parenthood has given Republican and pro-life activists a cause that unites a vast part of the Republican coalition. The pro-life cause, after all, is about the only seam left holding the Republicans together. While there are more pro-abortion Republicans than pro-life Democrats, the GOP is fundamentally still the pro-life party.

If the Republican Party is to continue to exist, it must have this fight. And it will have this fight.”

    http://www.erickontheradio.com/2015/08/their-lies-have-boxed-them-in/

    • Wee Mousie

The Republican Party has many pro-embryo activists, but they show nothing but contempt for the sanctity of living people, or any desire to maintain a high quality of life for the embryos they insist must be brought to term..

    • Jill122

I only wish they were pro-life. Then they’d be for safe gun ownership with background checks; they’d be for food stamps, helping the homeless, healthcare for the poor. They’d be behind PP as a provider of healthcare for poor women and men.

The thing is they are not Pro-Life. They are Anti-Abortion. That (plus controlling women’s bodies) is the beginning and end of their coalition. Be nice if the republicans were not Anti-women. Or at least maybe it would be.

“It’s not just Congress. Over the past five years, Republican state
legislators have passed nearly 300 new restrictions on abortion access.”

I think this might be my favorite part of the speech. We often forget how powerful and damaging our state legislators can be.

    • Raza

Democrats need to start voting more on the local level, rather than just in the presidential elections. The House and Senate being filled with a Republican majority will only produce shit. Even the president can’t do everything alone with no support.

  • ThisGuyHereKnowsNothing

This is how the Republicans heard the speech: “I, Elizabeth Warren, like abortions and killing babies.”

    • Kristina Moxley Lynch

I’m a republican and I didn’t hear that. I hate that republicans and democrats are lumped together as all thinking one particular way. I get it. I understand it. I just don’t like it. I am pro planned parenthood. I am also pro life but I’m not anti-abortion. Contradiction? Maybe, but I live in a world of gray where there just is no black and white.

      • jmk

No snark, thank you for posting that. I know that it’s easy to claim that “all Republicans are this and all Democrats are that,” but I think I can safely say that most of us are aware that, in reality, things are more nuanced than that.

You’re not the only person I know who identifies as both pro-life and pro-choice…and I’m pretty happy that you guys are out there.

      • ThisGuyHereKnowsNothing

Sorry, I wasn’t claiming that you would take it this way. I meant the republicans on the floor listening to her.

      • JohnQFugly

Stating you’re a republican and then stating you don’t like that those with political biases are lumped together is definitely a contradiction. Sometimes it’s tough to translate oneself (or gray issues) into a world that’s (IMO) irrevocably divided. You can almost believe you’re forced to take a side, no matter how much it seems like you’re making choices.

Did she remember to get permission from her husband before speaking?

    • Odd Jørgensen

Did your mom approve of your comment?

      • Lord-Nash

It’s OK, my mom is smart enough to recognize snark. It’s kind of like Kix cereal.

  • Michtou

Many years ago I got health care via planned parenthood. Just your basic female stuff. Occasionally I saw a male patient sitting in there, I thought maybe he was coming in for condoms, but I don’t know. What I do know is that when my husband developed a lump near his nipple, we went into planned parenthood, being as it was the only affordable medical care available to us at the time. He was diagnosed and treated. No refusal of care because he was male.

    • Mintie

So, in reality, the defunding of Planned Parenthood is a man’s issue, too, because their services are being taken away because of the GOP’s obsession with women’s vaginas.

    • buricco

One of my doctors as a kid was through Planned Parenthood.

  • The speech just gave me a Warrengasm!

    • tacticomp

You must be a “Feminist” (lesbian?)

  • Incoming Ham

My god, the algae bloom of trolls creeping in is astounding.

None of them seem to come up with anything new. Regurgitating the same buzz-word shit into the pond and creating more algae.

    • jmk

They’re also on the original article about the fake Planned Parenthood video… they like to post to old stories because they mainly post unopposed, and they count that as “victory.”

      • Incoming Ham

If being ignored is “victory” they are kings of the world.

        • tacticomp

Translation: It’s called being owned and has no sound rebuttals.

          • Incoming (“Fake News”) Ham

Well gosh, is that it? How clever you all are!

      • tacticomp

“Fake PP video” LOL! says a feminist….talking points sucked up from a Liberal Master! despite PP caught in their own words!! ON VIDEO!! (what will it take?

You will believe anything as long as it spews enough venom at people you hate, won’t you?

          • tacticomp

Coming from a Lefty who stills believes in FAILED Utopian Ideologies… LOL!

          • sgt. jmk of the résistance

Since you know absolutely fuck-all about me, you couldn’t possibly know whether I believe in ANY “Utopian ideologies,” failed or otherwise.

But it does always amuse me to see a conservative – a member of the group that gave us “trickle-down” and the unbelievable naivete of ‘companies will do the right thing without regulation’ – calling ANYONE’S ideology “Utopian” or “FAILED.”

            Go away now, nutbag.

          • tacticomp

Let me rescue you from your ignorance: (the result of merely sucking up demagogue talking points from your Liberal Masters! )

            Trickle down goes both ways:
Liberal Leftist Progressives DEMONcRATs (your Komrades) loves to creates massive Gov’t socialist programs of freebies & entitlements (to essentially buy votes!), through massive taxation of the working class of people and redistribution of their hard earned wealth! –which kills jobs and creates dependency class downward! (until the money runs out)

While the opposite happens when people are not overburdened by massive gov’t taxation and allowed to keep more of their hard earned money, (cause they know how to spend their money wisely than the gov’t bureaucrats!). It will ultimately invigorate consumerism and revitalize the economy, increase production of goods, due to demand (spending), increase employment (again, due to consumerism), thus, creating another tax base that will increase Fed, State, local REVENUES! (upward) for the Government (this was historically proven! by JFK and Reagan)

It is really sad that your Leftist indoctrination got your brain screwed up by your Liberal masters! on how the economy really works! and was lied to about the historical failures of Socialism! (against the proven equation above of making people decide their destiny and freedom to be creative)

          • tacticomp

Let me try this Visual, maybe it will help you understand your FAILED Socialism /Communism Ideologies. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/c5c10568a65c4a0de7e93809a663477d4c0372b600c73f8dea8ff55e44fca99a.png

“Hate” is EXCLUSIVELY coming from your Leftist Loon Komrades FASCISTS!, who are rioting everywhere!, destroying properties! beating up people they oppose! blocking roads! obstructing the flow of commerce! and gov’t! all run by a shadow gov’t led by The DEMONcRATs’ biggest patron bundler GEORGE SOROS! Have you ever stop to think?, that you’re merely a stooge of SOROS?

          Actually, cupcake…yes. It is.

          • tacticomp

Oh I get it! Anything that hurts the leftist agenda is ‘fake’ — just like Elizabeth Warren’s FAUXcahontas’ fraud scheme eh?

          • sgt. jmk of the résistance

No, cupcake – it’s fake because the source of your garbage is a site with an agenda – in pursuit of which they have a documented history of lying – and a video by a group known to manipulate and dishonestly edit video, in which a woman with an agenda, who is now making a living off of her entirely unevidenced accusations, makes claims for which she has no evidence.

That MAKES it, by definition, FAKE, asshole.

The reason I posted the Slate article is because they go over the reasons your source is not credible.

Maybe get someone to read it to you, and then you’ll understand.

          • sgt. jmk of the résistance

No, honey – that’s not spin. Those are facts.

No wonder you believe that lying fuckwit Alex Jones – you don’t understand the difference.

Fuck off, cupcake. Don’t bother to reply – if you do, you’ll be the first person I block on Disqus.

          • tacticomp

3 things: You LeftistLoons are mentally incapable of engaging in meaningful debates, 2, your platitude of “tolerance” is pure Hypocrisy!, you block people who disagrees with your failed Idelogies, that shoots down your leftist demagogue diatribes and defeats you in the arena of ideas!! –So much for ‘free speech’!

          • sgt. jmk of the résistance

            1. It’s hilarious to see you insult me and anyone you disagree with right before complaining that WE are “incapable of engaging in meaningful debate.” I’ll be taking a screenshot of that to use when I need to illustrate the meaning of the word “hypocrisy.”
            2. I wouldn’t block you for disagreeing with me – there are a lot of people I disagree with on the internet, and yet (science fact!) you’ll be the first I will block. No…I will block you for being an abusive asshole who doesn’t have an original thought in your head, as your reliance on ignorant insults and the ugliest, falsest memes makes clear.
            3. Your derp is so deep that you said “3 things” and only posted 2. That simply reinforces the observation that you’re not even the sharpest spoon in the box, that you’re incapable of a meaningful exchange of ideas, and that you too stupid to make trying to wade through your bile-filled, ignorant insults to get to an exchange of ideas worthwhile. You don’t have any ideas to exchange.
            4. Your free speech rights protect you from being targeted, punished, or censored by the government for speaking your mind. It does NOT mean that you’re guaranteed a platform, nor does it mean that anyone has to listen to you. Sorry you didn’t pay enough attention in school to know that.
            Bye now.

          • tacticomp

The number 3 was the blocking/selective application of free speech… sigh… So I have to put the number 3 so you could decipher the third one? –and you claim to be “smart”? — kinda Rachel Maddow sharp I guess huh?

No wonder, you didn’t get the gist of my rebuttals that practically shot down your sucked up failed leftist Progressive talking points. (like: spewing that hatred is all exclusively coming from the Right, and yet I showed you visuals of pure vile hatred of your insane Leftist fascist Komrades sowing chaos, anarchy and destruction in our streets!, and you brushed very documented facts about the true purpose Planned Parenthood after I exposed the lies to your face! )

And the sad fact you’re still in denial that the Elite Leftist Media that issues your marching orders are in the tank for the DEMONcRATs and the Liberal Progressive agendas!, any analytical thinker who uses inductive/deductive reasoning could have reached that conclusion by now!

But then again, Liberals are not that smart to dissect such complexities!

Here’s another great example of PP MYTH! https://www.facebook.com/liveaction/videos/10154911641473728/

Elizabeth Warren can eat my ass. Killing the unborn babies that it took 2 people to create is not a right. Its a crime. Where is the man in the decision to have an abortion or to put the child up for adoption or keep it. Men have zero reproductive rights but maintain all the financial responsibilities. Where is Elizabeth Warren when it comes to passing a law that a paternity test is required to put a name on a birth certificate

  • Bruce Wyner

No Elizabeth your right this ain’t the 50,s in those wonderful early days of rock & roll post WW II people like you would have been chased clear to red Moscow, these days you run our government into the ground, destroy our military, divide our citizens,Destroy our constitution, and allow our country to be invaded so you can turn the government into a one party nation. Not only do you progressives need to be stopped, you need to be deported to North Korea another nation run by a tyrannical lunatic dictator.

  • E S

This brilliant, ethical, public servant who knows what public servant means, should be elected supreme pontiff immediately. The issue she is discussing here is more critical than the fake controversies over gun control, abortion, immigration. There are real live people suffering in prison for corrupt, noxious, idiotic reasons. These people are in jail!! Their lives are pure hell! This should be a huge issue!!!!

  • sidearm45 .

Let’s see how can one possibly defeat such a well orchestrated line of bovine manure? Well first of all ladies don’t just love their favorite lady parts healthcare provider enough to make Democrats fight for it. Planned Parenthood gets $500 million from the government. They take $100 million of this and donate it to the Democratic Party. This is the motivation. It’s not like Democrats care about women any more than Republicans do. Researchers at Princeton University document that public opinion, support or opposition to any pending bill has no, none, zero, statistically insignificant effect on a bill being passed. It’s been like this for over twenty years. The selling of baby parts videos were never debunked as many a leftist blog claims. Instead a gag order was issued by the courts showing the vast political power of this major Democratic Party contributor. In every aspect of our society today, including woman making a choice to have a child or not, the deciding factor is money.

Howcome, ….practically most liberal “Feminists” looks like lesbians?, has predilections to be dykes, and seems to act like lesbians? (the premise of ‘feminism’ is to be as strong, if not stronger than men, isn’t it?) –and when they do come out, they will shack up with one that looks like a man! why not get the real one? SMH….
