Brace yourselves for some stunning, shocking, jaw-dropping, too-amazing-to-believe-yet-totally-believable news! According to a new poll from PPP, the Republican Party is overflowing with morons. It's true. In fact, it's SCIENCE! Or MATH! Or some kind of liberal hoax thing!
Let's nerdsplore how goddamned dumb Republicans are, shall we?
If you think that's depressing, well, OK, you're right, it is depressing. But it gets worse:
Didn't Republicans used to more or less accept that basic science was real, scientifically speaking? Yes, but that's before the entire party adopted the official "I'm not a scientist" platform, thanks to Fox News teaching the "controversy." Even though there isn't so much a "controversy" as that one guy who's a shill for the fossil fuel industry.

Most Republicans who are capable of watchingCosmoswithout breaking things are in hiding now, though. Or, like brave Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, choosing to "punt" because gosh, those kinds of questions we learned about in grammar school sure are tricky.

Walker, by the way, is the party's current favorite for the 2016 nomination for president, because Republicans really appreciate his courageous willingness to not answer basic questions.
Any other mathematical proof that Republicans are dumber than a bag of hammers? Yes, glad you asked. Former President George W. Bush -- the guy whose name prominent Republicans are afraid to speak, the guy who is usually kept locked in a basement and away from the cameras, especially during national conventions, for fear of reminding the country that, oh yeah, he's the guy who fucked everything up, THANKSOBAMADUBYA -- has a 74 percent approval rating among the regular Republicans who don't get paid to be professional party shillers. They love the shit out of that guy. Still. So maybe it's a bad idea for "smart" brother Jeb to run around insisting he is totally not going to be anything like his brother if he gets to be the party's nominee, because his brother is a lot more popular than he is.
One more fun fact before we start drinking ourselves silly to numb the burning from the stupid, what burns?
Neat! The party that's always harumphing about THE FIRST AMENDMENT!!! and RELIGIOUS LIBERTY!!! has never read the First Amendment, which is a real surprise to anyone who's been trapped under something heavy for the last few years. And if you look at the crosstabs -- that's nerd talk for "details" -- it turns out the majority of the majority of Republicans who want to officially rename the country the United States of Jesus are women, so good for you, GOP ladies, your reading comprehension is especially impressive.
Yup, you may now commence with the drinking.

And exactly what difference does that make? Are you trying to say that two wrongs make a right somehow? You obviously missed the point I was making about both of the parties being (IMHO) utterly worthless.
Fault... that's a word I've really come to hate absolutely. Looking for who's to blame does nothing whatsoever to solve the problem. There was a movie... "Gung Ho", in which it was said "Americans are always looking for who's to blame. We rather prefer to solve the problem, and worry about responsibility for the mess, later" (Paraphrased of course, because I don't have the movie's script in front of me here).
The reason I mention that film and that quote is because it's quite relevant to the point I'm making, which is that both parties have spent endless amounts of taxpayer money through endless infighting and brinksmanship, blaming constantly the other side of the fight for being the cause of all of this nation's problems. The truth is, both of the parties are themselves responsible, but they would rather continue blaming than actually get off of their collective posteriors and fix this nation's problems by coordinated efforts.
Whether one party or the other is more to blame in completely irrelevant when you consider that both parties are equally worthless, completely feckless and irresponsible. These are supposed to be the leaders of our nation, yet I wouldn't even follow them on twitter, nor would anyone else that actually sees them for what they are.
To actually say that one side is any better than the other is to ignore the whole of the problem or to not really see it at all.
"The Matrix is a system, Neo. That system is our enemy. But when you're inside, you look around, what do you see? Business men, teachers, lawyers, carpenters. The very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system, and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it." - Morpheus, The Matrix (film; 1997)
I firmly believe that most people are truly like the people in the Matrix --oblivious to the reality of the world around them, they walk through their lives as if they are asleep, believing whatever they are told by those (politicians, clergy, etc.) that they believe to have their best interests in mind, when the truth is, these influencers are nothing but manipulators of the masses... puppet-masters.
Personally, I wouldn't trust a politician to properly mow my lawn, much less to run the nation I call home. If they whole of the system were less corrupt, then I would certainly feel differently about it, but personal experiences have taught me differently --I've worked in government for over a decade, so believe me when I say that I understand the problems from the inside as one who sees it for what it is. The very thing that we've been raised and taught to believe that makes this nation great is exactly one of the core problems with why our nation has so many problems --Elected officials. The fact that these people can rise to power based on lies told on the campaign trail, followed by more lies and deception in office, and never really be held accountable for it --to me, that's the very definition of government corruption, and neither side of the political fight is any less guilty than the other, regardless of how you try to compare them. At the end of the day, they all want to affect the lives of millions and gain more power for themselves, all in the name of the all-mighty dollar, their true God.
You try to use NASA to prove there is no global warming, but in the NASA link you sent it states: Mean annual temperature has increased a total of 3.4 degrees Fahrenheit (F) from 1900 to 2013. Future mean annual temperatures are projected to increase 4.1 to 5.7 degrees F by the 2050s and 5.3 to 8.8 degrees F by the 2080s, relative to the 1980s base period. The frequency of heat waves is projected to increase from 2 per year in the 1980s to roughly 6 per year by the 2080s.
