All terrorists are leftwing. That's just a given!

Fox News’s The Five had a little memory problem Monday, accusing the Department of Homeland Security of completely imagining that rightwing extremists pose any threat to U.S. Americans, because as we all know, the only real terrorists are the Islamic ones. Most of the panel dismissed the DHS’s recent report on the threat from “Sovereign Citizens” and other far-right groups as a pathetic attempt to avoid offending Muslims by pretending that anyone else does terrorism in U.S. America.

Greg Gutfeld explained that in looking for possible rightwing extremists, DHS was chasing after “nonexistent threats,” like maybe “armed Lutherans laying siege on a Hot Topic in a mall? I don’t think so!” (He is the group “comedian.”) But then Juan Williams lost the script, noting that there were indeed domestic terrorists, too: “Oklahoma City? How about the Atlanta Olympic bomber?”

Eric Bolling — he’s the douchey ex-jock-looking one — was on it: “You got two. You got two over four decades,” which is rather interesting math for a “financial expert,” since OKC was in 1995 and the Atlanta Olympics bombing was in 1996. We suppose that the other three attacks by Atlanta bomber Eric Rudolph — two on abortion clinics and one on a gay nightclub — don’t actually count, since no one was killed. Of course, even “four over two decades” would only have included the examples Williams named.

Bolling then challenged Williams to give even a single example “from the last seven years” of a “rightwing or ‘Christian Crusade'” terror attack, and Williams replied by citing the 2009 assassination of Dr. George Tiller: “I remember a doctor getting shot in his church…”

“An abortion clinic shooting, you’re calling that a terrorist attack?” Bolling asked.

“What would you call it?” Williams countered.

“A lunatic who murdered someone,” Bolling said.

Heck, a guy with an extremist religious agenda and a list of future targets isn’t a terrorist, he’s just a guy, right? And Bill O’Reilly repeatedly calling the victim “Tiller the Baby Killer” and comparing him to Joseph Mengele is just a war correspondent at work.

But since he asked, we can think of a few OTHER actual violent attacks by the very Sovereign Citizen types identified in the DHS reports. Because we’ve got plenty of examples, we generously will not include the patriots who pointed guns at federal agents during last year’s Bundy Ranch standoff, terroristy though sighting on a law enforcement officer might seem:

Do you see a keffiya? Ergo, not a terrorist.

No shots fired, no terrorism! Besides, they love America, just not its government.

On the other hand, we’re pretty confident that Jerad and Amanda Miller, the sovereign citizen loons who murdered two cops and a civilian in Las Vegas, definitely count, what with their anti-tax, neo-Nazi, anti-police background — even though Former Stupidest Man On the Internet Jim Hoft figured they were liberals, because Nazis are liberals.

Gee, if only we could find any other examples of Sovereign Citizen types doing terror in the last seven years. Or for that matter, the last year:

And those are only the actually violent ones. That Yr Wonkette covered. In 2014. If we go back a little further (but no farther than 2010) we can add to the list a bunch of fine folks — not all of them using the sovereign citizen label, but not a one of them carrying around a copy of the Wonkette Guide To Liberal Living — who are merely into grifting, threatening others with guns, making bombs and attempting to make poison gas, and getting themselves caught before they manage to kill anyone:

Frankly, we rushed that second list — there’s only so many crazies you can itemize. We’ve even left out a couple of the more famous ones that Wonkette didn’t cover, like the 2008 shootings at the Knoxville Unitarian-Universalist Church by a guy who wanted to eliminate liberals, or Byron Williams, the Glenn Beck fan who got into a shootout with cops while trying to find the Tides Foundation so he could shoot it up.

Mind you, there’s no connection between any of these events. Totally one-offs. A whole pack of lone wolves. And no, we’re not saying that plain old vanilla conservatives are terrorists. Just that they seem not to notice any terrorists who don’t scream “Allahu Akbar.”

So, hey, Juan Williams, feel free to copy and paste those onto index cards for the next time the topic comes up. Just cite your sources, OK?

You’re welcome.

Wait till them FOX News guys find out that John Wayne was a fag. They’ll say “The hell he was, Baldar!” But it’s true; I installed two-way mirrors at his pad in Brentwood, and he came to the door in a dress.

Howard Zinn said it best: The greatest terrorist ever has been the United States government.

    • HogeyeGrex

The Catholic Church has placed pretty high on that list over the millennia. Stalin was bucking for top honors there too. It’s a pretty big field. I guess it depends on your definition of “great.”

      • JoeChristmas

idk, burning 100,000 in one night in Tokyo is pretty durn impressive. Ghengis Khan and the British Empire were no slouches.

Everybody at Faux News knows that it’s the liberals who are stockpiling guns and ammo for the inevitable war against the U.S. government.

  • whatwhomever

Terror is color coded, just like the old Dept. of Homeland Security alert scale said. The color code is this: white – isolated lone wolf incident, unfortunate tragedy, but not a broader problem. Black – street thugs acting singly or in gangs, generally no organized threat but definite cause for concern, probably need some sort of police crackdown and voting rights restriction. Brown – vast, ululating armies coming to behead us all, requiring genocidal extermination.

    • BaldarTFlagass

Your last one could also be “come to take our jobs and mooch off our social safety net.”

      • dshwa

Swarthy and tope as the distinction?

        • Cindyinencinitas

Ruddy brown v. sandy brown? Point taken. Ruddy browns would be killing in the service of Columbian drug lords. Sandy browns kill in the name of other guys.

That’s true. Fortunately, the same response is still applicable.

  • Wonkaholic

You keep using that term “isolated incident”. I do not think it means what you think it means.

“armed Lutherans laying siege on a Hot Topic in a mall? I don’t think so!”

Yeah, the idea of armed Lutherans is just so crazy; it’s not like there was ever an extremely bloody war between Catholics and Lutherans that lasted three decades and devastated central Europe, killing about 40% of the population of what is now Germany, or anything.

    • Blank Ron

But that was in Europe, plus a real long time ago, and anyway Catholics aren’t RTCs (and we have doubts ’bout them square-head Lutherans too) and maybe that was just a whole LOT of lone-wolf one-offs at the same time, plus shut up.

      • Villago Delenda Est

The “plus shut up” is clearly the decisive point here.

My daughter and I spotted a truck fitted for that. My severely asthmatic daughter. She’s nine, and trust me, I can’t type the things she had to say when I explained exactly what the smoke stacks were for … Dude was lucky that he wasn’t actually blowing it when we saw him: first, our city is fairly liberal, and second … she’s far too well-behaved to do it, but my little girl wanted nothing more than to put a rock through that a$$’s rear windshield for that, considering how much she has to do to make sure she stays out of the hospital for her lungs (she’s been hospitalized twice, had pneumonia multiple times, and has been on corticosteroids more than I can count. She has to take a pill every single night to just maintain, and has been on up to five different meds at once to treat a flare-up. We won’t even go into how much school she’s missed from it).

I can’t stand a$$hole conservitards who care only about themselves, with their “I got mine, you get screwed” mentality. My kid shouldn’t have to feel like that, because those trucks, whether they realize it or not, really are out to get her, and everyone else while they’re at it.

A Brady ranch standoff is when New England’s OL and backfield blockers do their jobs so well that they allow their quarterback to remain in the pocket for 4 seconds before releasing the ball.

In case FOX News needs anymore right wing terrorism in the US, I have one:

    It’s called “FOX News”.

  • nightmoth

Another: the 88 year old white supremacist who attacked the Holocaust Museum in D.C. a few years ago and killed the security guard.

    • ikonag

If he was an 88 yr old racist then you can bet that he was a Democrat. Most of them have died out but a few of the Bull Connors are still around.

      • stcroixcarp

The dixiecrats all changed to republicans (dixiecans) by the mid 80’s as part of the republican southern strategy of using coded racist jargon,( welfare queens, forced busing, states rights, Willie Horton, war on drugs) to win the bubbas over.

      • Dick7s

        Teaturd asshole = ikonag

      • nightmoth

Southern Democrats became Republicans during the election of 1964 because LBJ supported civil rights legislation and Barry Goldwater did not. Fact. I lived through it. Apparently, you did not, so read a damn history book, troll.

        • Haribo Lector

It’s interesting hearing about the Republicans’ Southern Strategy for me, as someone from the UK; we’re undergoing something similar right now whereby the recently-arisen far right UK Independence Party are attracting a lot of traditionally left-wing voters in the North of the country with their racist rhetoric. It’s a fascinating parallel.

  • OHDisqusNSA666100

Conservatives are often telling all Muslims that they each have to apologize for everything that any Muslim does, even when THEIR friends the Saudis paid for it.
So hey Conservatives, you aren’t even remorseful, you’re just denying that your kind does anything wrong.
Maybe the reason you bad people, you conservatives, you anti-American folks, you evil people, maybe the reason you are talking so much sedition and sabotage is because you realize that according to your own rules, when someone else such as a Muslim won’t be remorseful for the actions of others in their group, it’s “bomb them all” coming out of your mouths.

    • Nicko Thime

Christians never own anything and no one is faster or louder when it comes to playing that victim card.

“An abortion clinic shooting, you’re calling that a terrorist attack?” Bolling asked.

Ah, playing the old “isolated incident” card, Bolling?

  • Nicko Thime

Fox is not NEWS, it is an entertainment channel, so fiction is only natural and to be expected.
The problem is that FOX viewers cannot tell the difference between reality and a lie. Worse, they really don’t care as long as it fits their world view.

    • Dr. Shari Corbitt

      And MSNBC is…?

      • Nicko Thime

I don’t watch MSNBC, so I really don’t care. That’s you making a dimwitted assumption. But hey, that’s why you are the party of stupid.

Fox SUED for the right to LIE to you and call it the truth. That would say that they INTEND to lie. You are dumb enough to they wouldn’t lie to you personally, even though they warned you that they were going to.
        That’s dummazz.

        • Dr. Shari Corbitt

You don’t watch MSNBC and I don’t watch Fox. There’s no need for insults just because I disagree. I’m not affiliated with either party actually. According to you I’m stupid. Hardly. I simply question the deceptive narrative that has been spoon fed to mainstream culture.

          • Nicko Thime

No. you are stupid because you made a dimwitted assumption that I MUST watch MSNBC.
You also tried to compare the two with that short remark. They are nothing like each other. MSNBC didn’t sue for the right to lie to you and unlike FOX, when a mistake is made on MSNBC, they own it and correct it. FOX just keeps on lying

          • doktorzoom

Knock it off the both of you — you’re arguing on a thread from February, for pete’s sake.

And while Fox News really is awful, the idea that they “sued for the right to lie” is a complete myth

            You make a valid argument.

  • John Groch

Of course, terrorist attacks by Islamic extremists are themselves, by any reasonable definition, “right wing” attacks. It’s not like progressives flew planes into the Twin Towers; those were authoritarian “people of faith” and literal interpreters of their ancient religious text, upset with the liberalizing tendencies of the West. Sound familiar, Fox viewers?

  • Jim

The Oklahoma City bombing is mentioned as an example of right wing terrorism. For the real story of that event search for “A Noble Lie” on Youtube. It is 2 hours long & very well done. When watching the film, keep in mind that sometimes governments generate their own terrorist events & blame them on some other group to achieve their objectives.

General Gianadelio Maletti, a former head of Italian military counter-intelligence, testified in an Italian court in 2001 that US intelligence services instigated & abetted right wing terrorism, i.e. shootings & bombings, in Italy during the 1970s. This was known as Operation Gladio & was used to discredit unions, socialists, & communists. One of the people who participated in these staged false flag events, Gladio agent Vincenzo Vinciguerra stated in sworn testimony, “You had to attack civilians, the people, women, children, innocent people, unknown people far removed from any political game. The reason was quite simple. They were supposed to force these people, the Italian public to turn to the State to ask for greater security.” When so called terrorist events occur or terrorist threats are claimed to exist in any country, a primary suspect should always be one’s own government.

It appears we have a free press in the US. You can get news with both a left wing or right wing point of view, but it is really very tightly controlled with respect to many topics. Here is a quote from Edward Bernays about this:

“The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. …We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of. This is a logical result of the way in which our democratic society is organized. Vast numbers of human beings must cooperate in this manner if they are to live together as a smoothly functioning society. …In almost every act of our daily lives, whether in the sphere of politics or business, in our social conduct or our ethical thinking, we are dominated by the relatively small number of persons…who understand the mental processes and social patterns of the masses. It is they who pull the wires which control the public mind.”

The above quote sounds like it was written by a conspiracy theorist. However, Bernays is considered the inventor of psychology based propaganda. The quote is from Bernays’ 1928 book, “Propaganda” Bernays lived from 1891 to 1995. His first big government job was selling the US public on getting into WWI for the Wilson administration. In 1953 he ran a propaganda campaign for the CIA to aid in the overthrow of the democratically elected government of Guatemala for the benefit of the United Fruit Company. In the 1920s he ran a campaign to popularize smoking for women for the tobacco companies. The Nazi propagandists used his books in WWII. Bernays is the one who figured out how to “pull the wires which control the public mind” & did so for many years. His 1928 book, “Propaganda,” is still in print.

First of all Fox is not news. It is a delusional network aimed at delusional viewers. People that watch it are simply viewing what they want to see and believing it’s the truth. It’s easy to live life simply and ignorantly ignoring facts and reality. To face our problems requires work and changes in behavior and Fox followers have no appetite for either.

    • Dr. Shari Corbitt

How ironic, considering that I could easily say the same thing about members of the far left who are actually gullible enough to take MSNBC government-controlled news at face value and ignore the obvious and growing radical Islamic threat. What I would like to see is a story simply comparing the facts without taking sides – just a neutral list comparing the terrorist attacks and credible threats of right wing extremists and number of people killed vs. Islamic terrorist attacks and threats over the past 10 years and the number of people that they have killed. Plus, when right wing extremists commit these insane acts, typically they are targeting a select few individuals. Personally I’m opposed to violence of any kind and on any end. However, it is naive and dangerous to ignore the facts on the other side. People in this country have become too afraid to call things what they are, and it’s time to get real – radical Islam is an impending and viable threat. They want to wipe out anyone and everyone who does not share their faith. How is that acceptable, and how on earth does that continue to get swept under the rug?

      • Renee Lovelace

Just. Wow. Would you please GO to a radical Islam country and wait for them to terrorize you? In the meantime, I’ll continue to be on the lookout for radical police, hate-filled FOX trash viewers who think “guvmint” is the problem, and folks like YOU who are stuck on stupid.

        • Dr. Shari Corbitt

Honey, I’m hardly an uneducated redneck. I have two PhDs and live in Southern California. Also, I don’t even watch Fox, and why is it that every time I disagree with people on the far left, they almost always resort to name-calling and making it a personal attack? I just want to hear you offer valid reasons why I’m wrong. Get specific. Facts, not insults please, and then maybe you will have effectively proven me wrong.

          • disqus_justthefacts

ok then, please list the number of attacks, planned attacks and the death tolls in the last 10 years for both Islamic and USA citizens that have occurred here in our country. Keeping in mind that 9/11 was never listed as a crime that Osama Bin Laden was linked to on the FBI’s website and no trial was conducted to prove that he or any other Islamic person was responsible for what happened that day.

Also, I am pretty sure based on what we know so far that the young man who shot 9 people in Charleston fully intended to wipe all African Americans off the map.
