Scott Walker Not About To Admit Obama's As Christian As He Is

Wisconsin governor and God's Gift to Wonkette Scott Walker said this weekend that he didn't know whether Barack Obama is a Christian, but he only said that as a matter of principle to make the media look stupid, he explained. And wow, did that ever work!

Told that Obama has frequently spoken publicly about his Christian faith, Walker maintained that he was not aware of the president’s religion.

“I’ve actually never talked about it or I haven’t read about that,” Walker said, his voice calm and firm. “I’ve never asked him that,” he added. “You’ve asked me to make statements about people that I haven’t had a conversation with about that. How [could] I say if I know either of you are a Christian?”

Yeah, you dumb reporters -- stop asking Scott Walker questions that are just designed to make Scott Walker look kind of stupid, maybe, like whether he thinks evolution is a real thing.

"To me, this is a classic example of why people hate Washington and, increasingly, they dislike the press,” he said. “The things they care about don’t even remotely come close to what you’re asking about.”

Walker's spokeswoman Jocelyn Webster called the Washington Post and explained that “Of course the governor thinks the president is a Christian,” but that he just wanted to make it clear that "these kinds of gotcha questions" are a big distraction from his goals of being a great governor for Wisconsin, so just stop asking gotcha questions, won't you?

In the same interview, Walker once again declined to comment on Rudy Giuliani's suggestion that the president doesn't love America.

“I don’t know, I honestly don’t know, one way or the other,” Walker said. “I’ve said that 100 times, too.”

The media then reflected deeply on its tendency to ask Republican candidates questions likely to provoke hilarious answers, and collectively decided that next they should ask Walker if he knows why the tide comes in and the tide goes out every day, where the moon came from, and whether he can explain what makes a car go.

Later on Saturday, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal's office issued an unsolicited statement saying that Gov. Jindal didn't know whether Barack Obama is a Christian either, and daring the president to visit the "no go zones" of Paris, France. "If they let him in, we'll know, now won't we?" said the statement, which somehow managed to smirk.
