 OMG you guys! It's over! GAME OVER, MAN!! First Lady Michelle Obama has been caught using a RACIST SLUR, but thanks to the liberal media, absolutely nobody is covering it! It just goes to show you what complete hypocrites all liberals everywhere are! Check out the sturmundranging in this lede from the Daily Caller:

Who cares about the Redskins? Probably not first lady Michelle Obama, who turned her sights on insulting the Romani minority community Monday.

While describing her struggles as a working mother, the usually politically correct first lady used the racial slur, gypped.

“The first thing I tried to do, which was a mistake, was that I tried the part-time thing… I realized I was getting gypped on that front,” Obama told ABC’s Robin Roberts at the White House Summit on Working Families. “What happened was I got a part-time salary but worked full time.”

Isn't that sweet? They're actually pretending to be offended, even though 97% of the time they profess to not give a fig about mere words, since it's just language, and getting upset over mere words is stupid.

The piece goes on to explain, incorrectly, that

The term “gypped” is a racial slur deriving from the word “gypsy,” a slur for the Roma. The slur refers to the act of defrauding or robbing through practices such as swindling or cheating. The correct usage of the term is most certainly not synonymous to “slighted or “cut short.”

Defenders of Romani point out that the abbreviation, “gyp,” is nothing more than a callous slur used by the culturally insensitive. Similar slurs to “gypped” include “Jewed down” or calling someone an “Indian giver.”

There's one teensy little problem with that sentence, which might matter to a stupid English major and no one else, but hey, since they put it in their headline, we may as well mention it: "gyp" is not so much a racial slur as it is an ethnic slur -- it's still offensive to Roma people, and frankly it's surprising that Michelle used it, but no, dear, there actually is a hierarchy of offensive language, which is why you can go on teevee and say "Tucker Carlson and all his employees are "rat-buggering poopyheads," but not that they are "shitheads who assfuck rats." Really! Just ask the FCC!

Believe it or not, the same holds for ethnic and racial slurs -- and sorry, to our tipster, Matthew T., there actually is an answer to your question:

For instance, note your own stupid little question! You used asterisks to magically change some letters in what you wrote. Would you ever, ever give even the slightest thought to writing "g*p" or expect that a reader would know what you meant?

Credit where it's due, though: we were impressed by this deep thinking in the Daily Caller comments:
