Hillary Clinton, A 66-Year-Old Woman, Unhit And Unhurt By Flying Object Described As 'A Shoe' (Video)
"LAS VEGAS (AP) — A woman was taken into custody after throwing what she described as a shoe at Hillary Clinton during a Las Vegas speech."
Above we have almost the Platonic ideal of a newswire story opening, or "lede." There is celebrity, there is strife, there is danger ... and there is the respectable and neutral and unbiased citation of experts to clarify the action, imputing to a reliable source (the perpetrator, or "woman [who] was taken into custody after throwing what she described as a shoe") the tricky question of identifying "a shoe." As is proper, the reporter did not put him or herself or his or her opinions into our lede, but, like Wikipedia, offered the clear and unbiased "what she described as" to modify "a shoe." The reporter did not go with his or her own observation that the object in question was a shoe, but rather ascribed the description to an expert, in this case the woman -- how the reporter knew the subject was a woman is not explained, and recognizing gender in our society has certainly become more complex than recognizing footwear, and this is certainly problematic -- who threw said object, which was described as "a shoe."
Ms. Clinton, the former senator and secretary of state who is considered to be a Democratic frontrunner should she seek the presidential nomination in the electoral contest of 2016, did not appear to be hit by the object, which was described as "a shoe." The individual, whom the AP describes as "a woman," will now go to jail forever, where she will probably never be able to live down the ignominy of not being able to hit a 66-year-old woman with what was described as "a shoe."

She didn't seem to be lopsided when marching out the room with her hands up and two security people right behind her. And the hands were empty so she probably didn't yank both shoes off. I'd say it was option B.
