Texas Republican Ladies Solve Sex Discrimination Forever

It has been a busy week for Texas ladies who support Greg Abbott and not that lying baby killer Wendy Davis. On Sunday, Cari Christman, spokeswoman for a pro-Abbott PAC, said that equal pay laws aren't needed, since women are "busy." And then on Monday, the Executive Director of the Texas Republican Party, Beth Cubriel, explained that ladies simplyneed to do more of that Leaning Forward:  

"Men are better negotiators. I would encourage women instead of pursuing the courts for action to become better negotiators."

Who needs a Texas version of the federal Lilly Ledbetter Act when the solution is so much simpler: just man up and negotiate better pay, ladies, and everything will be fine. If you're not too busy.

Cari Christman, Executive Director of "RedState Women," explained in an interview on WFAA that her PAC doesn't like the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, which extends the amount of time that women can file claims for pay discrimination. And that has nothing to do with the fact that it was the first bill signed into law by Barack Obama -- it's just that, as Christman said, “women want real-world solutions to this problem, not more rhetoric.” See, actual changes in the law that would make discrimination suits easier are just empty talk. Gotta do something real like say "real-world solutions" a lot. And then Christman offered the very realistic and tangible GOP alternative that would actually solve problems in the real world:

“We lead busy lives, whether working professionally, whether working from home, and times are extremely busy ... It’s a busy cycle for women, and we’ve got a lot to juggle. So when we look at this issue we think, what’s practical? And we want more access to jobs. We want to be able to get a higher education degree at the same time we’re working or raising a family.”

See? Instead of some vaguely defined expansion of the right to sue for fair pay, with specific definitions of time limits, Republicans know women are busy, and want access to jobs and raising a family. But without lawsuits or legal requirements for equal pay, which hurt prosperity for job creators. Greg Abbott recognizes this, and promises to fight for women's right to be busy.

And then there's Texas GOP Executive Director Cubriel, who has even more of those real-world solutions -- instead of being able to sue an employer who's discriminated against them, what ladies need to realize is that men are just better negotiators, so if anyone is to blame when a woman is underpaid, it's the woman, who failed to negotiate a better salary for herself. Now just how is it fair to go to court and hold a job creator responsible for that lady being such a lousy negotiator?

Silly ladies, stop blaming the people who pay you less for your problems, and come join the GOP, the party of real-world solutions. If you find the time, of course, with the cycles.
