We can imagine Peggy wearing a look of shock as she sits at her typewriter (a massive Webley-Vickers manual, said by the antiques dealer to have once been used by Claire Luce Booth).
IDK, I always picture Dame Noonington, attired in silk pyjamas and matching slippers and an expensively brocaded housecoat, reclining on a couch underneath a large framed portrait of Saint Ronnie in the drawing room, which is dimly-lit as always despite the fact that it is blazingly bright daytime outside. One hand occasionally presses a damp cloth over her eyes when it is not otherwise occupied with wild gesticulations to illustrate her pronouncements, and the other hand clutches a finely cut crystal tumbler full of iced gin. Such is her arrangement as she dictates her weekly column in a voice that alternates between a theatrical oration and a hushed whisper to an oleaginous male Sub who cowers in the corner.
