At least the LPGA is more mature about these matters.

Full on football fan here. For those that don't follow the sport the SEC is college football's best conference. More NFL players come from those schools then from any other group of schools. If he can dominate in the SEC then he can play in the NFL no questions asked.

That being said it will take a very secure organization willing to do so in the largely homophobic NFL culture. I suspect that the two most likely landing places for Sam are

1. Seattle. They just won the Super Bowl. Their coach, Pete Caroll, is known as a very open minded, progressive personality. Seattle, as a city is obviously progressive.

2. New England. Bill Belichek the hoody wearing, three time championship winning genius of the Northeast can do whatever he damn well wants to do and his team and the city will sign off on it. He doesn't care about anything other than whether or not a guy can play and will he be a good teammate. Sam apparently passes both of those tests. No one in the New England locker room will say anything about it because on that team you do it Belicheck's way or you take the first bus out of town. Finally, god knows the Patriots could use the help on defense.
