i did a camus play a couple years back . as part of the process, our director had us spend some time with the sonderkommando testimonies (recorded in the 60's i think?). they make king lear look like a danielle steel novel.

if you want a real look at what real nazis actually did and how real people suffered from real evil, 'we wept without tears' is a searing experience.

i would like to say tom perkins and his ilk should be forced to read it, but honestly, it would be a lost exercise. they are too stupid to comprehend this level of human tragedy.

See, that. As an actor they (in some cases, obviously) make you learn things, and FEEL things. You actually get in some touch with the core motivation.

Expecting these people to read it and feel it/understand it is pointless.

*Full disclosure - I am a member of a performers union and therefore a socialist not to be trusted.
