President Of Creation Museum Is Just Like Oppressed Civil Rights Leaders Of 1950s Selma, Obviously
Attention civil rights activists! Your fierce and courageous devotion to fighting against injustice is sorely needed in the horribly oppressive town of San Diego, which has, sadly, turned into 1950s Alabama. No, there are no segregated drinking fountains. No, there have been no lynchings. No, there is no tired lady who would just like to have her seat on the bus, goddamnit. But there is a heinous, oppressive evil afoot, and we are not talking about former Mayor Bob Grabass Filner . We are talking about -- trigger warning for atrocious atrocities of atrociousness -- this :
The president of a museum which teaches that dinosaurs walked the Earth at the same time as humans said this week that San Diego was “like Selma, Alabama in the 1950s” because his ministry was denied a seat on the local museum council.
“I’m afraid we are being opposed for nothing more than the old prejudice against God,” [museum President Tom] Cantor lamented.
Oh, the humanity!
Imagine presidenting a museum,if you dare, dedicated to the "scriptural and scientific evidence that reinforces the biblical account of creation and support the body of Christ in fulfilling its commission in offering educational and evangelistic opportunities through interactive museum experiences and activities" -- and then being denied a seat on a local council for absolutely no reason other than "the old prejudice against God," and definitely not because the museum does not meet the council's guidelines. Isn't that right, Council President Council President Danielle Susalla GEORGE WALLACE Deery?
“Like their animal care and the protocol and care of their exhibitions and storage,” Deery explained. “They had a lot of areas that were not in line with membership guidelines. They have a staff member on the board of directors and that’s not good governance.”
Oh. Well, actually, that does sound like sort of a reasonable explanation. But then, True Believer Cantor isn't buying that Jim Crow bullshit, because you know whoelseused membership guidelines to discriminate against the most downtrodden among us?
“It’s like we’re in Selma, Alabama in the 1950s and I want to have a museum on black Americans,” Cantor said. “Do you think I’ll be accepted by the council of museums in Selma, Alabama?”
It is EXACTLY like that. Lunch counters, museum councils. Same difference. Well, San Diego, you can beat him and arrest him and sic the dogs on him -- or deny council membership for failure to meet its guidelines, which is basically the same thing -- but Cantor shall overcome ... by re-applying next year. The arc of the moral universe is long, after all, but it bends toward museum council membership.

Christian persecution = not getting their way all the time in all things.
Extremists who claim that they are speaking for the entirety of Christianity not getting their way.
