One (of the legion) of really stupid things about wearing blackface is that all of the bad things that it communicates are completely unnecessary because the fake skin toning is never even needed for the costume to succeed. I mean, just do the clothes, the "act" and the accent makeup (like rouge or lipstick) if indicated, but stay in your own skin. It is done all the time and it works fine.

By smearing on blackface, these dopes are saying that it is the character's skin tone that is key to their recognizable public identity. If that is how they see or remember a famous rap star like Tupac, if that is what they think is important in order to make the portrayal believable to their friends and neighbors, then it really says quite a bit more about them than it does about the character that they are trying to portray.

BarackMyWorld: dressing up as a famous person who had dressed up as a parody of another <strike>famous</strike> infamous person? (So that you are trying to portray two different people instead of just one? And that you are counting on other people getting the first character's joke?) Gee, what could possibly go wrong?
