Everybody knows Bill O'Reilly is kind of a jerky guy. I mean, we know that, right? But he is not actually an insane person. He is not, for instance, Glenn Beck, spittle flying, ranting about how Barack Obama is going to line us all up outside the WWII Memorial and shoot us in our faces. So when faced with the incontrovertible fact that the GOP temper tantrum about Nobummercare is not playing well in Peoria, he has to actually do a little song and dance "explaining" why despite all the evidence, it was the right thing to do.

So what did ol' Bill O'Reilly come up with? The Republicans had to shut down the government, because letting the duly enacted and SCOTUS-approved Affordable Care Act go into effect is the same as letting your daughter go to a high school dance when you know it will also host a vicious gang of bikers. Cool analogy, Bill O'Reilly! Very "spot-on"!
