Here is Andrea Mitchell recalling a little run-in that she had last spring with Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Poutine). Mitchell was on the Morning Joe gabfest yesterday, and said that Cruz appeared to be far more interested in pursuing his Presidential Destiny (as prophesized by his father ), instead of making nice, being Senatorial, or passing laws:
"Ted Cruz's strategy is that he wants to be either a presidential nominee or part of the presidential process," Mitchell said. "He has no strategy to get along and make friends and produce legislation in the Senate."
You would think that someone who wants to be preznit would know that Friendship is Magic, but that is apparently just not on Ted's agenda, thank you very much, he is a busy man who has some very important grandstanding to do.
Mitchell then spoke about a January appearance Cruz made on Meet the Press, and Cruz's displeasure at her failure to recognize his supreme wonderfulness in that broadcast:
"I was on 'Morning Joe' at 6: 00 in the morning the day after his first appearance on "Meet the Press" back in January. He had just been elected and he was trashing everyone else and being very rude to Chuck Schumer who was saying, you know, 'my new colleague from Texas,' 'the gentleman from Texas,' on 'Meet the Press' the morning before," Mitchell said. "And I said this is a different kind of senator. He then came up to me at a Washington dinner a week later and said that I was rude to him on 'Morning Joe.'"
We never in a million years would have suspected that Ted Cruz was the sort of person who can't take a little criticism. Then again, Mitchell said he was different, and there's no reason he should have to stand for your anti-Canadian racism. Andrea Mitchell, it's just like you people in the lamestream media to say that simply because a guy is refusing to be polite to the enemy that he's "different" or "ambitious" or "rude." Hope you like the flaming bag of poo that's going to be delivered to your doorstep tonight.
