Pennsylvania School Administrators' Texts Not All Racist -- Some Were Sexist, Too

The Superintendent and the Director of Athletics and Activities for the Coatesville Area School District in Pennsylvania both "unexpectedly resigned" during the first week of school this year. Turns out that they had been trading racist texts on their school-provided phones for most of the summer. Not the sort of stupid Obama-as-a-witch-doctor kind of thing that county GOP officials resign over, either. Nope, these idiots (Richard Como, the superintendent, and Jim Donato, the athletic director) were swapping full-on, n-word-filled messages of pure, uncut, slap your hand to your forehead and wonder how these morons got to be in positions of responsibility in the 21st Century, racial anti-transcendence. We kind of thought that white people were only this bigoted in movies nowadays, but obviously we lead a sheltered life. Not as sheltered (or clueless) as Donato, though, since he didn't even bother deleting the messages from his phone before asking a school IT employee to transfer all his data to a new phone, which is how they were discovered. Two cheers for technnologically incompetent racists, we suppose.

Also, just to make matters worse, the school board was provided with a transcript of the racist texts, but according to the  Daily Local News  (catchy title!), the board

"was prepared to allow Como and Donato to remain in their positions until the transcripts were leaked to the Chester County District Attorney’s Office, prompting a criminal investigation."

Because really, why make trouble for the poor guys?

And so, on to the actual texts, in which two adult grown up men responsible for the education of young people discuss how hilarious it would be if all black people had the same last name. Can you guess what that last name would be? Bet you can! (The transcript doesn't identify which official sent each text):

“All should have whatever first names they want… then last name is N*GGER!” he wrote. “Leroy N*gger, Preacher N*gger, Night train n*gger, clarence n*gger, Latoya n*gger, Thelma n*gger and so on.”

“Hahahahahahahahhahahahaha could have a whole homerooms of N*gger!” another message said. “Hahahahahahaha! Will N*gger report to office, pardon the interruption but will N*gger report to nurses office. N*gger to lunch now!”

Hahaha! "Leroy"! We actually did double-check the year on the news story, just to be sure. They also had some thoughtful comments on relationships around them (no context to tell whether they're talking about students or faculty here):

"No way! Please tell me no f*cking way that ape banged that white piece? WTF is going on with these white pieces taking n*gger cock! Me no understand!"

As RawStory delicately puts it,

The men also apparently used their work phones to have a long, racist and sexist conversation about the Miss USA pageant.

“OMg! N*gger OUT!” one man wrote when as an African-American contestant was voted off. “WTF SKINNY B*TCH. Give good head! Trumped!”

And just to make sure nobody was left out, other texts commented on the "latest jew red haired ESL teach at campus jew named [redacted]" and a "Fucking camel jockey" who provided one of them "a white girly phone that doesn't work."

Charming guys. But don't worry! Once the news leaked and a criminal investigation got underway, they were forced to resign! And Chester County Commissioner Ryan Costello assured a local NAACP meeting that the school officials' behavior was "not a reflection of our character," so everything's pretty much OK now, nothing to see here, move along.
