NH Senate Candidate Jim Rubens: Mass Shooters, Serial Killers Just Standing Their Ground Against The Matriarchy
On this fine morning we are pleased to present a genuine rarity: A Republican politician who seems sincerely worried about mass shootings! Former New Hampshire State Sen. Jim Rubens, who is officially eyeing Jeanne Shaheen's US Senate seat, made the following Valuable Contribution to the Discourse in a 2009 blog post:
Women already outnumber men in management, professional, and related occupations.
Men are charged with 82 percent of violent crimes and 89 percent of murders, women with 53 percent of embezzlements and 45 percent of frauds.
Over the period 1974 to 2000, 71 percent of school shooters -- all of them were males -- had been previously bullied, persecuted, or physically injured.
Over the last century, between 75 and 85 percent of the world’s serial killers were American and 90 percent were men. Serial killing victimization rates exploded by about 35 times between the 1950s and 1980s.
Bottom line: the collaborative, flexible, amorphously-hierarchical American economy is shutting out ordinary men who were once the nation’s breadwinners in living-wage labor and manufacturing jobs. Because status success is more vital to the male psychology, males are falling over the edge in increasing numbers.

Before all y'all women are like, "Why is Jim Rubens blaming us for all the murders we didn't do?", let Rubens disabuse you :
“If you read the … posting, I don’t see anything that causes anyone to conclude I’m seeking to in any way make a claim that it’s not great that women have come up in the economy,” he said. “My wife is my business partner so I know that it’s fantastic that the economy has made a fulsome role for women as I was pointing out in the posting. We need to get manufacturing jobs back.”
Yeah fine, and good luck with those living-wage manufacturing jobs. Jim Rubens is going to get them by "tweaking the tax code," apparently, and also by repealing Obamacare. Yes, it was Jeanne Shaheen, in the Senate, with the Obamacare, who killed the manufacturing jobs twenty years ago. Oh, are we misconstruing Jim Rubens's points? Maybe that is because we are so rage-blinded by our lack of a manufacturing job because of Jeanne Shaheen. We cannot think or win bread even, please hire us to stick the magnetic seal on a refrigerator or we might do something stupid! Fortunately Jim Rubens is here to tweak us back to prosperity, with his deep and self-evidently correct socio-economic theories, unmuddied as they are by any advanced study of sociology, psychology, economics, or anything else.
If only Adam Lanza could have hoped for a living-wage manufacturing job...
According to Jim Rubens's campaign website, Jim Rubens is "a champion whistler." Fulsomely, it is an amorphously-hierarchical collaboration, we are sure.

Yes! Bring back those manufacturing jobs to New Hampshire! Reopen the Abbott-Downing Stagecoach Manufacturer! And that place that made wagon wheels for the whole nation! And the locomotive builder. Why, it's barely been a century since the textile producers and the brickworks left.
If only there were some kind of program ... I don't know, some sort of financial process -- maybe even at the federal level? -- that could provide funding to reinvigorate local industries, to, like, stimulate the economy, so to speak, and create jobs. Hey I'm just brainstorming here. Just something the GOP might think of proposing in Washington.
