Sadly, it's what actually goes on in Africa; the donors conveniently ignore the fact that the drugs are worthless when they take a tax deduction for the "charitable contribution." Fortunately, acetaminophen has an actual shelf life of ca. forever, so at worst Robertson is merely a tax cheat with this Ton-of-Tylenol stunt.

"The Third Man" deals with fake/diluted drugs - something that also goes on a lot in Africa. About 1/3 of all drugs on the shelf in Africa are fake, counterfeit, or expired, or contain barely enough drug to pass identifying tests. Probaby the international crime with the most deaths per dollar -- the fuckers behind it kill millions -- and yet the fewest convictions. (For additional outrage, consider that the movie was made in 1949.)
