So, the altered photo on the right was posted on a rightwing Tea Party website; after the fakery was exposed, the "Patriot Nation" Facebook page has removed the photo and issued a stirring notpology:
There is but ONE race — the AMERICAN race, and it isn't hyphenated!
Anyone who is found to be posting such racist crap on this page or using racial slurs, will be banned permanently.
Of course, had the picture not been faked, they'd have been perfectly fine with it, because then it would just be a dumb one-of-THOSE-people.
And so welcome to today's wrap-up of charming folks who are just itching for a race war. Needless to say, the actual cause of the coming race war (so much blood!) will be those other people, not the nice patriotic self-defenders we'll be looking at below. (No one ever starts a race war; they just have race war forced upon them so they have to preemptively defend themselves.)
First up, actual proof that Black People Can Be Racist (which means they all are, while white racists are but regrettable outliers): There's more than a small kerfuffle over this guy Ayo Kimathi, an employee of the Department of Homeland Security who in his spare time runs a website called "War on the Horizon" under the pseudonym "The Irritated Genie." According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, the site advocates
the mass murder of whites and the “ethnic cleansing” of “black-skinned Uncle Tom race traitors.”
“Warfare is eminent,” the website declares, “and in order for Black people to survive the 21st century, we are going to have to kill a lot of whites – more than our Christian hearts can possibly count.”
Since Kimathi works for DHS's Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) division, he was required to get permission for "outside activities" like volunteering, having a second job, or running a website; Kimathi did get permission, the SPLC notes, but
only by misrepresenting the true nature of his endeavor. He told management that it was an entertainment website selling videos of concerts and lectures. He called it simply WOH, never saying that WOH stood for War on the Horizon.
In addition to warning of "an unavoidable, inevitable clash with the white race," the site also preaches hatred of gays and warns of the "Effeminization of the Black Male," so Kimathi is pretty much an all-purpose asshole.
Happily, Sarah Palin is on the case, and is calling for Kimathi to be fired. And of course, she also throws in a huge
lieoversimplification:His side "job" running the "War On the Horizon" website was reportedly approved by supervisors. Really, Fed? Really?
Friends, let your government know we deserve better; we demand better. We're paying the tab.
Unflippingbelievable.
Of course, Kimathi's deception about the nature of the website will probably be part of what eventually gets him fired. So there's that.
Next, another bunch of charming folks from the "Sovereign Citizens" movement have been arrested for plotting a bit of terrorism, this time in Las Vegas:
A sting operation stopped a plot to abduct, torture and kill police officers to bring attention to the antiauthority sovereign citizen movement, Las Vegas police said Thursday.
David Allen Brutsche and Devon Campbell Newman were arrested at an apartment a few miles off the Vegas Strip before they could carry out a plan to snatch officers, “put them on trial” and execute them in a vacant house, Las Vegas police Lt. James Seebock said.
An undercover officer befriended the two in April, and then
participated in meetings and training sessions about sovereign citizen philosophy and later shopped for guns and discussed plans to track and videotape police officers to determine whom to abduct, according to a 10-page arrest report.
They found a vacant house and rigged it with bolts drilled into wall supports, creating a makeshift jail where they planned to bind captive officers to cross beams for interrogation, police said.
But wait, are Sovereign Citizens even racist? They just hate the gummint, not the blacks! As SPLC points out, while individual members may not actively be talking about race war, the
movement is rooted in racism and anti-Semitism, though most sovereigns, many of whom are African American, are unaware of their beliefs' origins.
So that lands them in our round-up. Good luck with your entrapment defense, guys!
In St. Charles County, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis, the KKK is tossing pamphlets into people's yards, advertising the Klan's availability to help with "neighborhood watch" duties. The families who have received the flyers, some of them African American, are saying "no thanks." Saaay, you know who else was in a neighborhood watch?
Maybe the neighborhood watch appeal would be more welcome in Leith, North Dakota, population 19, where a neo-Nazi named Craig Paul Cobb has been buying up abandoned homes to build a white-supremacist community. The town's mayor, Ryan Schock, realized something was a little odd when Cobb started buying properties in the town:
“I didn’t have a clue who the guy was until he showed up. All I know is he bought that house sight unseen, $5,000 cash, and had no idea what it looked like, where it was, other than he knew the directions to get to Leith[.]”
Cobb has advertised on a white supremacist website, looking to recruit others to buy property in Leith and recruit enough White Power Rangers to take over the county government. Then he wants to rename the town "Cobbsville." He seems nice. Raw Story looked up his ad encouraging the building of a white enclave in Leith:
“Imagine strolling over to your neighbors to discuss world politics with nearly all like-minded volk. Imagine the international publicity and usefulness to our cause! For starters, we could declare a Mexican illegal invaders and Israeli Mossad/IDF spies no-go zone. If leftist journalists or antis come and try to make trouble, they just might break one of our local ordinances and would have to be arrested by our town constable. See?” he wrote.
Cobb has even built a concrete prison, where he plans to “lock up recalcitrant journalists and lefty commies who violate the codes or peace of the community.”
Any takers? The SPLC reports:
Already some of the most active white supremacists and neo-Nazi leaders in the country have come calling ...
News of Cobb’s plan spread quickly this week, when two men moved into tents on one of Cobb’s properties, alarming residents who were unaware of his racist plans.
The town government, for now, is keeping an eye on the new residents and hoping that increased publicity will help expose and stop Cobb's plans for a takeover of the town. Any rich Wonketteers want to go set up a Prius dealership in North Dakota?
And in the meantime, Sarah Palin's going to take care of that dangerous man working at the DHS.

Call me a racist, but some days I really hate the human race.
There is but ONE race — the AMERICAN race,
Uh, sorry, but we do have some nice parting gifts for you on the way out.
I did my family DNA to trace my heritage, and even though we've been here since 1634 and actually founded several New England towns, none of the tests came back "American".
