Michigan Congresscritter Bravely Didn't Vomit Near Obama, Will Impeach Him Just As Soon As He Figures Out How
Here is a video of Michigan Rep. Kerry Bentivolio at a town hall on Monday, explaining that it would be a "dream come true" to impeach President Obama, if only he could scrape up some kind of evidence of a crime. The clip has gotten a fair bit of attention because of Bentivolio's claim that he's already met with lawyers to find out how to impeach the President, but we were more taken with his courage in standing within just a few yards of the Kenyan Usurper:
I stood 12 feet away from the guy and listened to him. I couldn’t stand being there, but because he is president I have to respect the office. That’s my job, as a congressman, I respect the office.”
Thank goodness he respects the office! Otherwise he'd have... what? Projectile vomited? Run screaming? Shouted "You lie!"? Wet himself?
In any case, Bentivolio has a sad, because the lawyers he talked to -- “These are lawyers, PhDs in history, and I said, ‘Tell me how I can impeach the president of the United States’” -- told him, probably using very small words, that you can't really draft articles of impeachment just because you know in your heart that the President is a traitor and maybe also secretly a Lady or a ghey.
Turns out they have this absurd legal standard -- jus au jus, in nomine ex nihilo lorem ipsum -- that requires some evidence of high crimes and misdemeanors, so if maybe Bentivolio can get his hands on a memo saying "Please tax all the teabaggers double and take their guns, too" or "Remember to burn the birth certificate" or "I buried Paul," then he'll get right on that impeachment right away. But until then, no dice.
Damn! And they were this close to stopping Obama.
And now Kerry Bentivolio is going to have to risk standing near that evil man again. Be strong, Rep. Bentivolio. Be strong.
You must be new.
No, not seriously. I have met Barack Obama, but only as part of a small group, and was in no position to smell him. But I have never even seen any other Presidents in person, so really have no data to back that up.
But I imagine that it isn't beyond the realm of possibility, they do all live in the same house...
