Political Correctness Runs Amok As Decent People Not Amused By Rodeo Clown's Hysterical Blackface Routine
State fairs sure are fun, what with the fried food and the rides and the 4-H Club exhibitions and the endless blathering of brain-dead politicians and the casual racism. Wait, what?
A rodeo stunt at the Missouri State Fair has come under criticism after a clown donned a Barack Obama mask and stuck on a broom that descended from his backside. […]
Another voice is heard over the loudspeaker working up the crowd and saying, "We're going to stomp Obama now."
"As soon as this bull comes out, Obama, don't you move," the second voice said. "He's going to getcha, getcha getcha, getcha."
"Hey, I know I'm a clown," the second voice said. "He's just running around acting like one. Doesn't know he is one."
What has this great country come to when a white man can’t don blackface and prance around for the hooting and cheering amusement of a mostly white crowd in rural Missouri? It was just good clean wholesome family fun! Did we mention the part where a second clown ran out and started playing with Barack Obama’s lips, because black people with the big lips, can we get a what what up in here?
To their credit, fair officials immediately apologized and handed the clown a lifetime ban from performing at the Missouri State Fair. Missouri politicians from both sides of the aisle roundly condemned the display and suggested that the state might want to reconsider whether to provide public funds to the event in the future (tax revenues account for $558,000 of the fair’s $4.5 million budget).
All this political correctness just incensed leathery swamp creature Dana Loesch, who is to intelligent discourse what the captain of theTitanicwas to seagoing navigation. We’re not sure what to make of Dana’s hilariously stupid tirade on the subject, because like all of Dana’s tirades it contains logic rarely found anywhere outside of the locked ward where they’re currently keeping Amanda Bynes:
The acceptance of taxpayer dollars equals the forfeiture of free speech. Democrats should be careful with that rule, considering their policies.
First of all, what? Second of all, once again we must take up the burden of reminding Dana that the First Amendment right to free speech has absolutely no protections against a person’s utterances being condemned as insulting tripe. The clown at the fair is free to say whatever he wants, people up to and including politicians are free to call him a shithead for saying it, and the organization he was representing when he said it is free to tell him to take a hike.
I could draw comparisons with BushHitler and the way television shows, networks, and print outlets treated the former commander-in-chief, but I’m not going to, because again: free speech is free speech. Not anymore, though, as Democrats would have you believe. After repeating for decades that we should be judged by character and not by the color of our skin Democrats would have you believe that any disagreement, any mocking, any ridicule is reflexively racist.
No, putting on blackface and prancing around like Stepin Fetchit is reflexively racist. There is historical baggage to allegedly satirical bits about a black-skinned president that do not exist for a white-skinned one, no matter how much you may wish otherwise and again, because the words “free speech” do not mean what you think they mean. Did you drop out of that community college before fulfilling your American History requirement? Try reading a goddamn book that wasn’t published by Regnery sometime.
Dana followed up this hilarious paean to her right to perform old bits from The Amos ‘n’ Andy Show in full “Yes massa!” mode without being criticized for it with a post in which she warns that anti-satirists have not made satire an arrestable offense…YET. But we all know it is a matter of time until the Glorious Leader purges the capitalist running dog Dana Loesch and her ilk from the airwaves and tosses them all in the gulag.Da,comrades?
Nice strawman ya built there, son. Racism is racism, even if it's directed at a political entity that would otherwise be a target for criticism or mocking. Nice job of also conveniently conflating private citizens wearing a Nixon mask vs. an entire skit cooked up by the rodeo association AS PART OF THE ENTERTAINMENT and done with state taxpayer money. If this was some goof sitting in the audience with an Obama mask, no one would give a shit. If it was the clown doing this on his own time and with his own money, no one would give a shit. But we aren't talking about that, much as you might want to pretend that we were. We're talking about a state fair, using state funds, not just mocking a president (it would be bad enough to use such a forum for political commentary regardless) but for a blatantly racist stunt that many of the people who attended and helped fund were offended by. It's not even remotely the same as some hippie wearing a Nixon mask and you know it- quit making excuses for these people
Awful nice of the president to take a day from his busy life to attend the Missouri state fair what with golfing being availible and all but I suspect he was picking up a load of meth and what better way to cover your tracks than to dress up as a rodeo clown with a broomstick in your butt
