Yes, and on every episode of Alias, 24, Nikita, and all other spy TV shows people fly halfway around the world in 15 minutes or so, because that is just how super-spies roll, and also because on those shows Benghazi and Hong Kong and Kigali and Delhi and Vladivostok are all pretty much Toronto with some set dressing.

My personal favorite was the old La Femme Nikita of the 1990s, in which the budget was too small for the sets to include interior shots of planes, so the super-spies dashed around the world in a black van. Occasionally they hopped continents by opening a different door in their super-secret spy headquarters.

The problem is, most Americans have so poor a grasp of basic geography that Croatia might as well be a suburb of Benghazi. Or the other way round.
