Joe Scarborough can’t stop talking about guns, and now he’s gone and shouted at poor Kansas Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R-Kansas) in an “explosion” (although if this is Joe Scarborough “exploding,” Yr. Wonkette concludes he must be a pretty chill bro) about assault weapons and children’s safety and DO YOU DARE COME ON MY SHOW blah blah blah because “politics.”
Rep. Huelskamp appeared on Morning Joe to talk about the fiscal cliff. When the conversation inevitably turned to guns, Huelskamp basically argued that this isn’t the time to talk about guns because people are craaaaazy, ya know? and, ummm, I have kids too, so uhhh – hey did you see The Mentalist last week? But Joe Scarborough would eat none of that diluted porridge!
“It’s not a gun problem?” Scarborough asked. “So tell me, why do Americans need assault weapons? Why do they need these high-capacity clips? Why do they need a bushmaster? Can you tell me why?”
Who knows why? But you should know that discussions aimed at answering these questions are POLITICKERY OF THE FOULEST ORDER, sir. You can’t just ban things that aren’t drugs left and right because they hurt people, especially right after an horrific incident involving the thing you’re trying to ban! Here’s the sage little nugget of wisdom from Huelskamp that set Scarborough off:
“But gosh, let’s step back. Let’s not build on the tragedy in Connecticut and use that to actually push a political agenda.”
GET READY FOR THE SCARBOROUGH SMACKDOWN!!!!
“Do you dare come on my show and say I am using the slaughter of 20 little six- and seven-year-old children, I’m using that for political purposes, Tim?”
It isn’t Joe Scarborough’s fault – it’s easy to get caught up in the non-important details when there’s a high body count tragedy, like what tools were used to achieve such a high death rate in such a short period of time. The real, substantive discussion lies in identifying secondary causes that adequately distract people from raiding your gun-laden Prepper bunker. Banning things that don’t limit peoples’ freedoms, like video games and silly Jew shows is a much more effective strategy than trying to limit access to tools that (no, really) most people still use to get food and stuff SO PLEASE MR. LIBERAL JOE SCARBOROUGH STOP SHRIEKING AT THE NICE ELECTED OFFICIAL TRYING TO PRESERVE OUR POLITICAL INTEGRITY THANKS.Related
