RNC Shocked That Firm Known For Voter Fraud Was Doing Voter Fraud For RNC

would you buy a used car from this man?Back in 2004 and 2008, GOP operative Nathan Sproul was constantly being accused of voter registration fraud — including having his workers misrepresent themselves as nonpartisan, and then having them throw away or destroy registration forms turned in by Democrats. (One Utah Republican noted, “the difference between ACORN and Sproul is that ACORN doesn’t throw away or change registration documents after they have been filled out.”) But back in 2004 and 2008, Republicans hadn’t spent a year trying to disenfranchise olds, poors, youngs and minorities with voter ID laws, so so what, who cayuhs? Now the RNC is shocked — shocked! — that the man they’ve paid $2.9 million to so far this year to conduct voter registration in five battleground states has apparently been caught turning in voter registration forms for dead people in Florida. No really, they’re shocked. They have totally fired him, and he’s super-blacklisted until Karl Rove’s Crossroads or the Koch Brothers’ AFP puts him on the payroll. (Or until, like Blackwater, he changes his firm’s name.) So we figure he’ll still be blacklisted until at least next Tuesday.

So what was Sproul’s Strategic Allied Consulting doing this time? Oh, just turning in voter registration forms for dead people, giving their addresses as gas stations and a Land Rover dealership. Fully a third of the forms they turned in to the Palm Beach registrar look to have been fake.

This is excellent news for John McCain.

I got into a "discussion" with a right-wing asshat (sorry for the redundancy) FB "friend" who threw out the old trope about "illegals" voting for democrats. He: 1) couldn't produce ANY evidence this has occurred more than a handful of times nationwide in the last decade, and 2) ignored my counterpoint that to have ANY effect on an election, you'd have to have tens or even hundreds of thousands of illegal votes cast which would be virtually impossible to pull off logistically, not to mention keeping that many people quiet about it.

The whole "massive voter fraud stealing elections meme" is just ridiculous from a logical point of view, even ignoring the fact that there's zero evidence of it happening at all. Except on the GOP side, of course.

  1. One_who_wanders

I swear all the GOP needs to do is start growing a mustache to twirl so that it can become a complete stereotypical villain.

    1. Naked_Bunny

He's determining if any of the dead people were Democrats when alive so he can spin this as Democratic voter fraud.

  2. Sue4466

Fool us once, shame on you. Fool us twice, well, you can't fool us twice cause the first time was like your audition. Carry on!

    1. Texan_Bulldog

"… fool me once, shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again." —President George W. Bush,

        1. Gleem McShineys

Perhaps they drove the hearse with their bodies through the gas station or the Land Rover dealership. See, those forms… mostly true!

  3. Sassomatic

The ends justify the means, therefore the asses justify their voter suppression tactics. It's for Amerikkka!

  4. Goonemeritus

Land Rover dealerships normally vote Republican. I’ll believe there is real fraud only after I see the Pimp-Cam footage.

  5. freakishlywrong

If Conservatives are having whiny, baby, wet diaper fits about something, it's 1,000% certain that they are actually doing said something.

    1. Terry

You mean like when they rant and rave about some moral issue, then it turns out their doing meth off prostitutes' bellies or tapping their feet in public rest rooms?

    2. SayItWithWookies

Well they have to — ever since Nixon accused JFK of stuffing ballot boxes in 1960, the misdeeds that Democrats have probably perpetrated in Republicans' imaginations are much worse than those the Republicans were actually gonna do — so the GOP has to respond by being even worse than they had wanted to be. It's a sad escalation, but that's what you get when there's no limit to what you can imagine your adversary doing.

  6. EatsBabyDingos

What's wrong with the dead voting? They can't be any stupider than the typical teatard, and they want less Obamacare, because they are, well, dead.

  7. Nesnora

If it was legitimate voter fraud, the voting system magically defends itself by rejecting the vote, thus it's impossible for there to be voter fraud.

    1. anniegetyerfun

It has a way of shutting that whole thing down. Anyone who says that they voted illegally is a lying whore.

  8. mavenmaven

Its only fraud when black people vote. These ballots represent the true will of America and the Constitution.

  9. ProgressiveInga

    "They have totally fired him….."

Oh great. Now he is eligible for an Obamaphone and will pay no income tax, is dependent upon government and believes that he is entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. Loser.

    1. Chichikovovich

Well at least he'll vote for Obama now. He can even drive to the polls in his free Government Motors car, and Obama will pay for his gas.

  10. KeepFnThatChicken

How come I don't get paid when I do voter registration?

I just realized that I could if I turn Republican! I wonder if my khakis still fit…

    1. hollyrocks209

You'll need a fresh polo shirt, too. And a nice big SUV to ride around in. Yes, it's an investment, but don't worry, you'll be paid back, plus a little for being good.

    1. James Michael Curley

Clinton was accused of a lot but his, I.e., Carvelle's, election plan in 1992 was spectacular. Contacts were made all the way down to the voter district level and each district was evaluated as to how many Democratic votes were needed to win that district. Then this was walked up the hill to whether each winning district producing X number of Democratic votes would win the state. It was awesome. I pulled my weight and got a free ticket to an inauguration ball.

  11. freakishlywrong

Have the True the Vote assholes come riding to the rescue yet? What's that? Oh..Republicans. Right.

  12. actor212

been caught turning in voter registration forms for dead people in Florida.

To be fair, Editrix, it's Florida. Sometimes it's hard to tell if they're dead or not.

  13. BaldarTFlagass

Next up on Fox and Friends: James O'Keefe's blistering undercover video exposè of Nathan Sproul’s Strategic Allied Consulting voter fraud scam.

    1. delaney_blom

And would follow the theme: Strategic Allied Consultant (SAC)

"What are those nuts over at SAC up to now?"

  14. Maman

Ever get the feeling that investigations should be launched every time Republicans make some kind of accusation? But the Republican's should be investigation instead of the Dems.

I am terrified to know what Michelle Bachmann's plans were for the re-education camps, but I am sure she had them.

  15. Chichikovovich

This is a not a rhetorical question – though I have a good guess at what the answer is, I'm not sure.

Isn't this the sort of thing that should have this guy facing criminal charges?

I'm pretty sure that various hapless ACORN workers ended up doing time for less.

  16. LibertyLover

Hey, Hey, Hey… Stop it! You think it's easy disenfranchising all those people and stealing their vote? You try it. Get in the ring. This is HARD.

    1. Esteev

All you have to do is place a piece of tracing paper on their headstone and rub some charcoal over it a la Indina Jones.

  17. Esteev

You see! They were right all along! There is voter fraud happening!

    *something whispered in Esteev's ear*

Oh, I see. Well it appears these people are complete fascists.

  18. SoBeach

Only way to ensure a fair election is for Florida now to demand three forms of ID from registered republicans before giving them a ballot. Oh, and a doctor has to declare them to be alive.

    1. LibertyLover

How about requiring a prostate exam, too? That way at least then we will know that they will have been screwed before they try to screw the rest of us?

    1. SoBeach

Imagine how shocked and disappointed I was to find out President Clinton wasn't personally emailing me to get my take on pressing global issues, but instead had his name on the same fundraising plea I've received 15 times this week.

      1. LibertyLover

What? You mean that wasn't really Barack and Michelle personally asking for money either? Man, what is the world coming to?

  19. dennis1943

With all the money floating around……….entreprenurial America at its best………miscreants are people too…..

  20. Generation[redacted]

So this voter fraud is happening AFTER all the voter suppression verification laws they passed to prevent it? Republicans must be feeling pretty good about themselves right about now.

  21. delaney_blom

This guy really embodies the American Dream.

Who would have thought a graduate of the Pillsbury Baptist Bible College and the University of Phoenix could pull himself up by his bootstraps to scam millions of dollars from one of the major American political parties? (Oxford or the Ivies, sure, but the now-defunct PBBC?)

  22. elviouslyqueer

Sproul, who has long worked for the GOP, also criticized Florida and national Republican officials for dumping him.

Awwwww. Widdle Nathan got his feewings hurt after the big bad RNC stepped on his dick. Bless his heart.

    1. HELisforHEL

I just FB shared this. Thanks. The added bonus is that this will help reduce my 'friend' list in the best way. :-)

  23. magic_titty

Those dead people were killed by the shame of having a Muslim black Kenyan as president so they should be allowed to vote against him.

  24. Yellerdawg

If you can re-baptize the dead and make them into retroactive faithful Mormons, why not go whole hog and make them into retroactive Republicans? They'll fit right in at the Tea Party rally in the meeting room at the Sizzler; just less snory.

  25. BoroPrimorac

The reason the GOP gets away with all this horrible shit is because the democrats never call them out on it. By the time the 2014 election rolls around, none of the voter ID laws or the roll purges will be remembered.

  26. CommieDad

The sad thing is, he likely wasn't doing this to improve GOP chances in Florida. He was probably getting paid by the registration and was just trying to make a buck. So, in reality, he was making money and jobs, and he got punished for it. I blame the Democrat party for getting in the way of this job creation effort.

  27. TakomaDC

If it happens in Florida it's criminal and eventually we all find out about it. Is it due to the shape of the state? Or just the state of the shape? Flaccid and pointing towards a "commie" isle full of classic American cars and tons of rum.

  28. TakomaDC

Didn't our nation's great supreme court declare that dead people are corporations and therefore eligible to vote for time-everlasting?

  29. rickmaci

All Republican registrations in Florida are suspect. If the Dems in Florida had brass they would sue to challenge ALL RepubliCon registrations until the state can verify they are all legitimate.

  30. BartStarrland

Sproul said in a telephone interview that his company has employed between 4,000 and 5,000 people to register Republican voters under its contract with the RNC, including over 2,000 in Florida

You America-hating commenters are all jerb killers!

  31. ttommyunger

Also, would-be Abramoff cell-mate Ralph Reed has been resurrected on Mitten's behalf. I'm wondering just what a hack would have to do to actually fall out of favor with the GOP?
