It seems like just two months ago that the august and erudite National Review Online was having to face its terrible shame and can all its writers for being bald horrible racists. And yet their newest fellow likes to write things about how the Founding Fathers didn't let black people vote for a reason . And also why we should declare all Muslims (ALL OF THEM) enemy combatants and get it over with. That second thing, the Muslimy one, that is just your typical Tuesday on the #WARBLOGS, so nobody will pay that one no nevermind. But that thing about black people, and why they (oh, and women, because someone has pecker issues) shouldn't be allowed to vote? That does seem to be beyond the pale in the Civilized Right. (HAHA, yeah, no it isn't, we totally lied.)
So here is David Yerushalmi in NRO's The Corner, being all pompous and bloviatey, like so:
I am not in the habit of getting into a polemical tit-for-tat in public discourse. The reason is that I am not enamored of polemics. But, in the matter of American Laws for American Courts and Mr. Schmitz’s arguments on these pages against that model legislation, including his latest in the effort to demean this legislation and its supporters, a final word on the subject seems prudent.
Yeah, nobody is going to finish reading that, including us!
Instead, let us turn to this ThinkProgress report from 2010 on some of Herr Yerushalmi's greatest hits. Are we ready? We are ready. Let us go.
Here's a good one!
There is a reason the founding fathers did not give women or black slaves the right to vote. You might not agree or like the idea but this country’s founders, otherwise held in the highest esteem for their understanding of human nature and its affect on political society, certainly took it seriously. Why is that? Were they so flawed in their political reckonings that they manhandled the most important aspect of a free society – the vote? If the vote counts for so much in a free and liberal democracy as we ‘know’ it today, why did they limit the vote so dramatically.
Good racism, David Yerushalmi! But just for shits and giggles, what does SANE (suuuure), the group you are the head of, think we should do about Islam?
- It shall be a felony punishable by 20 years in prison to knowingly act in furtherance of, or to support the, adherence to Islam.
- The Congress of the United States of America shall declare the US at war with the Muslim Nation or Umma.
- The President of the United States of America shall immediately declare that all non-US citizen Muslims are Alien Enemies under Chapter 3 of Title 50 of the US Code and shall be subject to immediate deportation.
- No Muslim shall be granted an entry visa into the United States of America.
Now, we know Kathryn Jean Lopez, when she takes off her latex gimp mask that she always wears in her S&M sessions with The Lord (in the Proper Medieval Martyr Style that is really the only way to be a True Catholic), is supposed to be the "editor" of The Corner. And she doesn't really have a lot of time to devote to that because James Spader in Secretary makes her sit at the table with her hands flat on it for like 25 hours at a time. But we thought (no we didn't) that NRO was supposed to be home to the patrician conservatives, the ones whose only concern is negative-taxation for the Most Holy Job Creators, not the Pamela Gellar on Ambien batshit I SEE MUSLINS conservatives.
K-Lo, maybe next time you should try Googling these people, so you don't have to immediately publicly fire them (again). Remember: William Buckley's racism was an urbane racism, not to be confused with SaveWhitePeople.com.

At least he's funny. He could probably open for the K-K-Komedy Tour.
Pict libel!
