Not intended to be a factual portrait of Jason GiroirHi, racist New Orleans cop? The Fifth Amendment called and wanted to remind you of your right to not incriminate yourself by posting comments, on Facebook, under your name, while on desk duty for your role in another shooting, about Trayvon Martin being “in Hell,” YOU STUPID FUCKING RACIST CRACKER.

“Act like a Thug Die like one,” brilliant and sensitive and racially transcendent New Orleans copper Jason Giroir wrote on his Facebook wall, because of brilliance. Take it away, local New Orleand TV news!

Jason Giroir’s “thug” comment sparked a strong reaction from another commenter, Eddie Johnson, in the story. Johnson tells Giroir: “How the hell you know how he acted? That boy went to school, talked to his girl friend and it was raining so he had his hood over his head… OH YEA He’s Black so he’s automatically a Thug huh? Low down racist always show their true colors.”

Several hours later, Jason Giroir responded to Johnson: “Eddie come on down to our town with a ‘Hoodie’ and you can join Martin in HELL and talk about your racist stories!:-P”

We particularly like the sticking-out-tongue smiley, for sauciness!

Giroir was on desk duty while his role in a Driving While Black stop is investigated; that stop left one young black man dead and several cops injured. And now he is suspended and will probably be fired. Why won’t The Man leave Jason Giroir alooooooone? [WWLTV, via Wonkette operative “LimeyLizzie”]

He was just a thirsty kid with a sweet tooth who got murdered for being where he wasn't wanted, nothing more.

    • vodkamuppet

You have it all wrong! It was his little brother that has a sweet tooth. Another typical liberal getting the facts wrong.

      • Barb

You left out that I am "afraid of Sarah Palin" Isn't that how all "typical liberal" statements start?

        • vodkamuppet

Yes. I am terrified of Sarah Palin. Her political career makes me piss all over everything because Im laughing so much but her fans really freak me the hell out.

          • Barb

I like how her fans say that she is "the only one who can….(insert anything here)" With 300 million people in this country I would like to think that we could find someone else who can (insert anything here) Seriously? The ONLY one?

    • Biff

"murdered for being where he wasn't wanted"
Anywhere in the dirty south, you mean?

    • HippieEsq

In New Orleans he would have had the additional dignity of being shot by a guy with a badge.

  • Yep, this is exactly the sort of mastermind-empath we need armed with a badge and a gun.

    USA! USA! USA!

    • NorthStarSpanx

      Alaska Militiamen also too:

Jason Standish That's bs zimmerman isn't white f the black panthers and don't be fooled lamestream media isn't so reputable. Even the kids own father said after he listened to the recording it's Zimmermans voice that was heard not the suns. Zimmerman is not guilty. They are about to pass the same type of hold ur ground law here. And I'm all for it. I pack everywhere and I guarantee I will be the last person you want to rob.

Jason Standish Doesn't matter Zimmerman has a witness unless it was premeditated then there's no case to this. Self defense, end of story. This racial bullshit and Obama saying if he had a son it would look like trayvon is a publicity stunt. And to get the black panthers all riled up psh screw them over righteous illogical bunch of whiners they are worse than kkk with even more hate built inside

Jason Standish The media is focusing on crap, it's not fact, it's to dramatize the situation to gain audience. I investigate and research foreign news, local news, history of news, an all sorts of shit along with history. Whatever your news is telling you is a farce and biased. Trust me

Jason Standish Tragic or not it will not go that way in court is my point. And what gets me is this is being followed so closely it resembles the same kind of tactic in France with the supposed al Qaeda member that killed the three Jewish kids and a rabbi and the hopeful skarzy president is further clamping down on ppls freedoms. Wake up this happens every day in the USA

Jason Standish Haha wow u know that is edited right elana? Wiki leaks will tell the story soon my colleagues are working on exposing the truth

      • That there's some extra special stoopit.

I bet not that many people can just call up a brand name of sheets from their memory banks. I'm impressed. (Obviously, I'm impressed a little too easily, and maybe only because this conjures warm memories of my mis-spent youth, when I moved across the country and worked for Bed Bath & Beyond for beer money and a roof over my head.)

        Fuck, fuck, fuck.

I used to work as a photo-journalist for one of the UK's national newspapers, where the small-minded editors (no doubt acting on behalf of the even smaller minded owners), impressed on us employees, the class divisions and superiority of their readers.

Readers of other — competing — newspapers were little better than trailer trash.

If it wasn't the wire services doing the racist thing, it would be the editors, shaping the language of the captions to fit their readers intellect and prejudices.

It's done everywhere, in Europe and here in the US. The end.

  • White hoods are America's biggest problem.

    • mrpuma2u

White hoods with badges are huge problems.

    • Yet nobody's ever been shot while wearing one. Funny how that works, huh?

      • You'd think the NRA would cite that as another reason that we all need to be armed. I guess Skittle-related attacks are a higher priority.

  • What do you expect from a state where white people stand on bridges with rifles to force black people to drown to death?

    • It's not those nice white folks in Gretna's fault they cain't swem!

    • MissNancyPriss

I don't even want to google that reference, because it might be true.

    • Ruhe

That shameful incident, like the Trayvon Martin case, would seem to be one of those moments where many Americans might suddenly realize that, holy crap, America isn't what I think it is.

      • That would require abandoning a sense of American Exceptionalism and taking a good long hard look at ourselves, however.

The NOPD has a policy on Internet posts, adopted several years ago, which states:

“Employees shall not post any material on the Internet … that … embarrasses , humiliates, discredits, or harms the operation and reputation of the police department or any of its members.”

Well, given that the NOPD's reputation is in the gutter anyway, he might not have broken that.

    • not that Dewey

Whatever you do, DO NOT read the comments on this Breitbart article about Martin's parents' scheduled testimony before Congress.

      • RadioStalingrad

They definitely need some commenting rules — for racist, idiots.

      • SorosBot

Oh god. So the racist idiots are calling the victim a thug (not racist at all, no) and making up total bullshit to claim that he was the aggressor. Ugh.

      • twaingirl

"White Hispanic" is an invented term? Listen up, sick fucks, you ever seen people from Spain? Or Puerto Rico? Hell, even my sister-in-law, who is Mexican-American, looks whiter than me! Just cuz you're Hispanic doesn't mean you are brown.

  • anniegetyerfun

But Geraldo already explained why Trayvon deserved to die! The baggy pants and the hip-hop!

    • Lascauxcaveman

Redneck racist piece of trash reveals self to be redneck racist peice of trash. It took a week but I knew these fuckers would start outing themselves. They just needed time to figure out how to justify it in their minds.

    • They were waiting for Zimmerman to take the lead and throw out some smear against Martin, like maybe he smoked a doob or two in his day. Yea, that marijuana is a known gateway drug to all kinds of violence.

That's why I stick with hard liquor and sterno, man! No one's ever started a fight in a bar, I tell you whut!

          • vodkamuppet

Oh shit, I actually own the DVD of Reefer Madness. We watch it on Halloween because the Ed Wood films werent good enough for background noise at a Halloween party.

          • Halloween?

            What's that?

          • vodkamuppet

It's a thing for non-Christians to do for Satan when they need a day to do something really extra badass for Satan. Traditional costumes include nurses, slutty nurses, really really slutty nurses, cheerleaders and that Lord of the Rings guy. Lord of the Rings guy is always sweating.

          • Swampgas_Man

Ever notice the Nazguls are all wearing HOODIES?

          • vodkamuppet

I have no idea what Nazguls are, are you the sweaty guy at the party?

    • An_Outhouse

It would have taken less time but his sweat covered fat nubs kept slipping off the keyboard.

  • Guppy

Between the pay and the benefits, being overly-eager to be issued a gun is about the only reason one would want to be a cop nowadays anyway.

Don't worry, it can only get worse.

    • Biff

Most of the cops I've known are strictly in it for the retirement, no sense of duty whatsoever. Being a left-coaster though, most of them haven't been presented the opportunity to display such hatred outwardly, at least.

    • Preferred Customer

So, I had this witticism all drafted that bemoaned the fact that Stand Your Ground has taken even THAT advantage away from the police, and that any _______-happy dipshit can just go out, buy a gun, and start cold executing people in the street without even NEEDING a badge, and why are the lamestream media not covering that?

It was funny, sort of, but of course since I used the word for the small lever that activates a pistol it was auto-deleted.

Which, really? Why can't we talk about handgun components here? All Sarah Palin has to do to silence us is have a few more kids, maybe named Health Care, Obama, Romney and Santorum.

  • BaldarTFlagass

Giroir? Sounds kinda, I dunno, French, to me. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

    • Yes, it's French for "asshat"

(yes, I know the literal translation would be "chapeau du dul"…)

  • Lucidamente1

Giroir's response is part of his Stand Your Ground on Facebook policy.

  • FakaktaSouth

“Eddie come on down to our town with a ‘Hoodie’ and you can join Martin in HELL"

Oh man, I bet this is the same NO cop that stole my boyfriend's Goofy (like Mickey Mouse) baseball hat off his head when we were in the Quarter in 1992 – he's not racist, he just doesn't like people with things on their heads.

This really happened, and if you have ever been to New Orleans and been around one their NOPD ways, you can KNOW we are grateful this is all that was taken. The cop just reached down (Boyfriend was sitting on the curb drunk) and took it off his head, and kept walking. It was one of the most surreal things I have ever seen.

    • BaldarTFlagass

Good thing the cop didn't have any pepper spray.

      • FakaktaSouth

Shit at least I EXPECT to be sprayed or tazed by a cop, but not ROBBED for Christ sake. New Orleans is so weird. I do love it.

    • Lascauxcaveman

More than likely the cop was drunk too; didn't really know what he was doing.

    • Man0nTheStreet

I have a buddy who's a black NO Fireman – he HATES the fuckin' PD, but he has to pretend to be civil enough to work with them…

  • Jason Giroir is a dedicated public servant, Louisiana style.

  • BaldarTFlagass

Congratulations Jason, you just earned yourself a new schedule: Every Day Off! You'll have plenty of time to hang out on FB now!!!

    • Tundra Grifter

The bad news is he'll have to buy a computer. He probably isn't going to be able to use the one at work anymore.

    • CthuNHu

      Myspace, apparently:

At the time of the shooting, Giroir's public Myspace profile also featured comments that suggested he sometimes bends rules in his job. The profile read:

"Hello, my name is Jason C. Giroir. I have been a New Orleans police officer for almost 10 years. I enjoy my job because I like to make a positive impact in life. Sometimes that means not doing everything by the book. Everyone who knows me understands what I mean."

He goes on to talk about his family, calling them the strength and motivation in his life.

Under the category for occupation, he listed his job as "Punisher."

Also? Fuck him and fuck his equally despicable wife. May those vile lumps of excrement waste away their years in confined quarters with large, deranged, swarthy and unforgiving cellmates. That is all.

  • He probably expects a promotion to the C-Ass-I division.

  • Nothing quite like the teabaggers tripping over themselves to scream about how shooting someone that was minding their own business because they looked scary is somehow morally acceptable.

"What?…I'm sorry…were you talking just now? I was busy destroying that city over there. Can't be too careful you know. There's some scary dudes in there."

    • Millennial Malaise

I'd vote for him twice. Well, that is if I was back in Louisiana. Here in Texas I can only vote once (I believe).

    • NorthStarSpanx

That would be Whitey's Trayvon moment, call to action.

Obama's election was bad enough (according to them,) Obamacare, 57 States, Corpsemen, Special Olympics bowling, but saying "Get Whitey," would have them in white hoodies on the streets expressing their 1st Amendment Rights with a 2nd Amendment remedy.

      • Limeylizzie

True, but I am so sick of these people playing the white victim.

    • Tundra Grifter

Funny you should mention that. Back in 2008, there were many Internets rumors about a video of Mrs. Obama making a remark about "Whitey."

It was always about-to-be-released – and I believe that is its current status, some four years later…

As someone else here noted, these racist goobers are outing themselves all over the country, thanks in large part to the Fucks Gnus blowhards, who make them think it's OK because everybody else on Planet Ailes feels the same way.

Maybe, in the long run, it will be good to know who these cretins are — especially the ones who can be voted out of office or dismissed from public jobs. In the short term, the close association of these characters with the GOP can only help the Dems in November … so let's hear from more of them, as loud and revolting as they want to be.

  • C_R_Eature

    • Biff

I've said that, or some variation of that, for nigh on 50 years. It has served me well.

    • Ruhe

Here's a wicked irony. My eleven year old daughter heard about Martin's murder and immediately expressed outrage and sadness. "He was just a kid" she said, in heart-wrenching solidarity with Trayvon. So I'm trying to help her make sense of it all and I'm saying to her that this guy who shot Martin was just a cop wanna-be. Some gun-loving nut who managed to sneak onto a neighborhood watch. "But" I said "a real cop would never have gone for his gun so quickly. This wouldn't have happened if it were a real professional cop." Which of course I have to say because I don't want my kids to think that the world is a nuthouse run by the inmates. But really…

    Pigs Need Your Help!

  • BigSkullF*ckingDog

Slightly OT: I spent this weekend with my skullf*cking parents and something has been bothering me. When referring to African Americans my mom still sometimes says negro, which drives me crazy. But even when she doesn't she will usually refer to "the blacks" which still seems vaguely racist to me. I can't quite figure out how to explain to her why this bothers me, at least not in a way that she will understand. She also refers to Asians as "orientals" and it bothers me in kind of the same way, especially when we are at a Chinese restaurant.

    • proudgrampa

Don't know how old your mom is, but my 97-year old mother keeps referring to them as "nig-ros."

It is what it is. And at 97, no one's gonna change…

    • George Spelvin

I don't know how old your mom is, but I'm 64, and when I was growing up, "Negro" was a polite term. When I was in college, "Black" was preferred by many, and certainly outlasted "Afro-American". I'll admit that my first tendency is still to use "Black", instead of "African-American", because that's what I learned during the most impressionable period of my life.

It matters less what words you use than how you use them. (With the exception of a few really charged words, of course). I'd be concerned about "the blacks" because it implies that "they" are all the same. I don't know if that is racist, but it's certainly parochial. But really, what is important is how your skullf*cking folks behave, not what words they use.

Also, too, regarding "oriental" versus "Asian": Asia is a really big geographic area, formerly known as "the Orient". Most of the people I've known who came from, or were descended from, that super-continent would prefer to be referred to (if it is unavoidable) by their nationality — e.g., Filipino, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Thai, Malay, Vietnamese, Indian, Mongolian, Indonesian, etc. "Asian" is just as annoyingly generic as "oriental".

      Try this.

"The blacks" or "blacks" is dehumanizing; it turns an entire people into an object. "Black" by itself gives the person or people you are talking about individual indentity. "Black people" is even better, because it recognizes shared humanity. I've always found it kind of odd and bothering, too, because we generally tend to talk about "white people" and "white folks" in the black community, qualifying the race/ethnicity with a human identity even when the talk is negative.

It's okay, my grandmother still uses the term "wetback".

This is my Mexican grandmother, by the way…

I applaud Rebecca for her succinct analysis of this soon-to-be former NOLA law enforcement officer: "YOU STUPID FUCKING RACIST CRACKER."

Even if he loses his position with NOPD, he'll most likely get hired by some smaller Parish because he has a state law enforcement commission. Worse is that many of the state law enforcement commissions have reciprocity agreements so he can move to another state and transfer his commission and certifications.

    • Dear Chalmette, Louisiana: If you give this STUPID FUCKING RACIST CRACKER a job in security or law enforcement (or pretty much anything with more prestige than cleaning out septic tanks with his bare hands), the moratorium on jokes about Chalmette since Katrina will be OFF.

Fair notice given, — The Rest South Louisiana

It's kind of too bad, but also a relief, that there are no more GOP debates. You know there would have been an applause line or two in the Trayvon business.

I'm trying to decided if I want to go over to and read all the comments about his freedumbs of speech!!1!!!1 or whatever.

May Cthulu visit him soon. ^(;,,,;)^

Well of course. White men are always the real victims – didn't that last story about the poor priests being forced to use federal money for what it was intended for, instead of what the poor priests wanted to use it for, teach you anything?

  • I'm telling you, it is past time to let the South secede from the Union.

Jason, like all cops, is under immense pressure all the time in life-or-death situations where the badz are always coming to get them, climbing through police station windows with guns blazing. Oh the agony. Only another cop can understand. Or maybe he is just a punk. Anyway, live a life a misery now, you stupid *^&%$#.

Is that southern gentleman standing in front of the cross wearing a hoodie? I has so confuzed.

  • mavenmaven

The ugliness of the right wing blogosphere regarding the murder of this kid has been beyond belief. Essentially they want to clear the way to being able to shoot any black people on sight without cause or recriminations. It's apparently the true Conservative American way.

I love and admire Abraham Lincoln. But I sometimes wonder if he should have let them go.

According to most wingnuts, Reverends Sharpton and Jackson are the real racists.

i'm so frickin' sick of this type of crap. i'll gladly take this jerk-off up on his request 'to wear a hoodie and come on down to discuss some stories'!

NOPD? I'm shocked, I tell you, SHOCKED!

    Keep fuckin' that chicken, Lazy-ana.

  • Biel_ze_Bubba

The NOPD just experienced a vast improvement:

"Jason Giroir resigned one day after he was suspended without pay Monday after admitting he made the comments and shortly after Public Integrity Bureau Chief Arlinda Westbrook notified him that allegations of misconduct against him had been sustained."

He is now a neighborhood watch volunteer.
