Newt Gingrich Wins Coveted (?) Bill Clinton Endorsement or Something
The right-wing New Hampshire Union Leader endorsed pandering con artist Newt Gingrich Sunday solely on the strength of his being Not Mitt Romney, to which everyone said "sure, whatever" because eh, this is the same newspaper that also bestowed its endorsement on hate lizard Pat Buchanan for President, twice. Much more "exciting" (if you ignore every other headline in the news today, and for the rest of eternity) is the strange, possibly disingenuous support that Newtie got at the same time from sex scandal clubhouse fellow Bill Clinton, who lauded the Stay-Puft demon in an interview with fringe wingnut tabloid Newsmax, presumably because they are the only conservative news outlet desperate enough for attention to run Bill Clinton's deadpan comedy routine discussing the merits of Newt's liberal position on immigration.
Here is Bill Clinton raining wet farts on Newt's conservatism:
Clinton continued: “For example, I watched the national security debate last night. And Newt said two things that would make an independent voter say, ‘Well, I gotta consider that.’
“He said, ‘OK, I don’t want to legitimize immigrants who came here undocumented, illegally.’ On the other hand, a lot of those people have been here for years, they worked hard, they paid taxes, they’ve got kids in the schools, they’re not criminals, we’re going to have a hard time sending them all home, there’s millions of them. So, I’d like to have a process where they could be here legally but not have a path to citizenship. That sort of splits the difference between the immigration reforms proposed by President Bush and President Obama.”
Ha ha, subtle, Slick Willie! "Hey, wingnuts, if you really loved Presidents Bush and Obama, Newt Gingrich is your man." In other news, Bill Clinton is still annoyed about the nineties. [Newsmax]
