This might be a hair that doesn't need splitting, but I think it's possible that the sign-maker wasn't calling bankers Nazis, but rather bankers-to-Nazis, like the Swiss were back when Nazis weren't neo. Neutrality on the outside, rich creamy collaboration on the inside. Yes, it's a provocative and unhelpful reference, but maybe a defensible one.
If, as Goldman Sach CEO Lloyd Blankfein said, the bankers are merely “doing God's work" it says volumes about bankers and God.
