I saw a video 3 weeks ago of a motorcycle driver who was involved in a crash and was under a car. A group of people came over and gathered together and lifted the car from his body and dragged him out. These photos, along with the memory of that video, reminds me of the America that I think of in my little girl heart and not the dreadful vision that the Tea Party would like to paint of America. We may be down, but we are far from being over.

Thanks for the photos.

tribbzthesquidz October 2, 2011 at 11:31 pm

American Spring! Boing! Right in the middle of Autumn too. Gonna be a long century.

Barb October 2, 2011 at 11:34 pm

Yes, a long century. I don't even want to know what kind of crazy shit my family is going to make up for Y3K. They are still trying to use up all that firewood and pay for their Anus Burgers with crumpled dollar bills from their mattresses.

Negropolis October 3, 2011 at 1:22 am

Just think, in Tea Party America, all the bystanders would have gotten out of their cars, pointed at the unconscious man under the burning car, and pronounce while shaking their heads with mock mournfulness that he should have been more personally responsible. Let him die; let him die, indeed.

All that said, I could have done without the "Nazi Bankers" sign. Fortunately, this shit seems to be much fewer and further between than at corresponding tea bagger rallies. Hopefully, this stuff'll get rarer as the thing coalesces.

Barb October 3, 2011 at 1:40 am

I completely agree with you on the "Nazi" reference. It just wasn't necessary.

Negropolis October 3, 2011 at 7:39 am

You know, I'm not of those folks that is out-and-out above reminding people when they espouse or engage in ideologies and actions that actually remind me of the Nazis, but this particular comparison just doesn't make any logical sense. That sign is just pure, utter, and mindless attention-whoring. I really do hope someone eventually confronted him about it, doesn't have to be in a nasty way, but that shit really is offensive on multiple levels.

comrad_darkness October 3, 2011 at 9:30 pm

What if it said underneath "created the fortunes of Bush I and II"?

starfanglednut October 4, 2011 at 10:20 am

I completely agree, but bear in mind that whoever wrote is probably 19.

Bonzos_Bed_Time October 3, 2011 at 3:11 pm

You know who else said Nazi references weren't necessary????

GOPCrusher October 3, 2011 at 4:24 pm

Pope Benedict?

Guppy06 October 3, 2011 at 7:18 am

At least it's a lot closer to accurate than calling Obama a fascist communist. The sign-bearer is able to identify the correct end of the political spectrum.

Spurning Beer October 3, 2011 at 8:17 am

This might be a hair that doesn't need splitting, but I think it's possible that the sign-maker wasn't calling bankers Nazis, but rather bankers-to-Nazis, like the Swiss were back when Nazis weren't neo. Neutrality on the outside, rich creamy collaboration on the inside. Yes, it's a provocative and unhelpful reference, but maybe a defensible one.

Terry October 3, 2011 at 9:59 am

No, they'd have probably been at home in front of the telly or driving around the WalMart parking lot looking for a big enough parking space for either their conversion van with the handicapped plates (Rascal scooter lift inside) or an SUV.

proudgrampa October 3, 2011 at 10:07 am

Damn Commie Bankers?

Criminal Bankers?

Stupid Bankers?

Ayn Rand Paul Tard October 3, 2011 at 10:09 am

If the $800 shoe fits…

HistoriCat October 3, 2011 at 11:00 am

I don't know about the first one but the other two are fine by me.

AFKensington October 2, 2011 at 11:25 pm

Looks like a terrorist training camp to me. Send in the drones!

Those orange tubes can only possibly have one use, refining enriched uranium.

LionHeartSoyDog October 3, 2011 at 12:57 am

Not enough wedding parties and children playing to be a real furrin terris camp.

Guppy06 October 2, 2011 at 11:38 pm

You do realize that every clickable picture is its own posting with its own comments section, right?

Negropolis October 3, 2011 at 1:25 am

Yes. And?

Sparky_McGruff October 3, 2011 at 7:59 am

And Barb has the first post in every single one of them.

Terry October 3, 2011 at 9:59 am

She's an overachiever. :)

Beowoof October 3, 2011 at 12:57 pm

But usually pretty funny and accurate.

tejanojim October 3, 2011 at 1:57 pm

Any chance Wonkette Jr could reformat this as a slideshow?

Guppy06 October 3, 2011 at 5:23 pm

This looks like a job for an intern!

axmxz October 3, 2011 at 12:29 am

I wonder how many of the protesters camped out under various versions of 'abolish capitalism' signs appreciate the fact that they are occupying a private park that some guy spruced up to give World Trade Center construction workers a nice place to eat lunch.

LionHeartSoyDog October 3, 2011 at 12:59 am

All of 'em, dickweed?

bureaucrap October 3, 2011 at 2:35 pm

They'll be really aware when the real estate development company (not just "some guy") that owns the property arrests them for trespassing. I think the protestors are already aware that unless they build their numbers quickly, it will happen sooner rather than later. Corporate types' little acts of charity do not make up for their grand and grander larceny.

axmxz October 3, 2011 at 2:42 pm

Nah, they are too scared of bad PR. If they were going to arrest or even displace them, they'd have done it two weeks ago.

smokefilleddoommate October 3, 2011 at 1:17 am

Nazi Banks
Nazi Banks
Nazi Banks
Fuck Off!!

Beowoof October 3, 2011 at 12:58 pm

I didn't know Prescott Bush was in Banking.

Negropolis October 3, 2011 at 1:19 am

Kinda' OT, but I am so glad the Port Authority had the sense to resist naming the thing the Freedom Tower, and decided in 2009 to formally christen the thing One World Trade Center.

OC_Surf_Serf October 3, 2011 at 9:40 am

and if the McCain/Palin carnival took the White House in '08, it would of been christened "Freedom and Power Tower of Strength, Ubetcha!"

AJWjr. October 3, 2011 at 10:41 am

Nothing wrong with a little Tower of Power, though.

johnnyzhivago October 3, 2011 at 7:09 am

Until the cops start arresting the BANKERS, nothing is going to change!

proudgrampa October 3, 2011 at 10:17 am

Hear, hear!

As i understand it, they kinda got us in this mess to begin with. Yes??

Beowoof October 3, 2011 at 12:58 pm

Can't wait for those perp walks.

chascates October 3, 2011 at 1:03 pm

If, as Goldman Sach CEO Lloyd Blankfein said, the bankers are merely “doing God's work" it says volumes about bankers and God.

GOPCrusher October 3, 2011 at 4:27 pm

Imagine! And for only 50,000 dollars a year.

Bonzos_Bed_Time October 3, 2011 at 3:08 pm

"Nazi Bankers"… wait, is the Pope there?

DerrickWildcat October 3, 2011 at 3:27 pm

Not one bird in any of these pictures.

Tundra Grifter October 3, 2011 at 5:36 pm

For some reason I'm listening to a few minutes of Sheer uh "Am i uh An Idiot?" uh InSannity, and he's obsessed with the dirty hippies who aren't taking showers.

Glad to know that, once again, he's clearly focused on the most important issue.

Indiepalin October 3, 2011 at 5:52 pm

Glenn Beck just told me that he has exposed the entire group of demonstrators as funded puppets of George Soros.

Barrelhse October 3, 2011 at 10:36 pm

Where's the pic with that squirrel?

Not_So_Much October 4, 2011 at 11:47 am

</snark> This thing is actually happening. There is a group organizing even in my backwater, red state, dystopian hellscape of a tiny turd town. <snark>

ttommyunger October 4, 2011 at 1:14 pm

No snark here. Brave young Patriots. BTW "Nazi" sign prolly a teabag plant with a view to discrediting the effort. Would not put this past them. Also looking for violence/destruction of property plants to give the cops carte blanche and turn public opinion.

Porter Melmoth October 4, 2011 at 2:03 pm

I'm glad all of this means that soon the Chase HQ building will be converted to rent-controlled, co-op apartments. There's a great view from Dave Rockefeller's old office (which I get first dibs on, as I am a qualifying poor).

Terry October 3, 2011 at 1:00 pm

Yes, that, too

Tommmcattt October 3, 2011 at 4:31 pm

WIN!
