Teabaggers Agree on Totally Reasonable Idea to Impeach Obama

by Blair Burke

where is the love? Here is a clever idea the Teabaggers have come up with to make sure President Obama stops getting his way: “Let’s just get rid of him,” they have decided. Yes, apparently, if America elects a president and then decides three years in that he is doing a poor job, not quite living up to his promises, or just flat out being an illegal Kenyan terrorist, America can just throw a tantrum and replace that bad president with a zombie overlord or some other hilarious character. Democracy. This is the strategy that Rep. Michael Burgess of Texas would like to use to get rid of the president, because it’s just so easy!

Some disgruntled patriots down in Texas were a little angry with their Rep. Burgess, because he voted to raise the debt ceiling, when he should have made a more valiant attempt to collapse the economy, so there would be more problems to blame on the black president.

Many Tea Party activists view the deal as an instance of Republicans acquiescing too early. When one attendee asked who in the room disagreed with Burgess’ decision to support the bill, nearly everyone put a hand in the air.

Mitchell Monis of Keller called the deal “a joke” and told Burgess that he was very disappointed by his decision to support it.

“You caved,” Monis said.

But oh, they agreed on one thing! Someone should really impeach that Obama person. That would really iron out this whole mess.

When one attendee suggested that the House push for impeachment proceedings against President Obama to obstruct the president from pushing his agenda, Burgess was receptive.

“It needs to happen, and I agree with you it would tie things up,” Burgess said. “No question about that.”

When asked about the comment later, Burgess said he wasn’t sure whether the proper charges to bring up articles of impeachment against Obama were there, but he didn’t rule out pursuing such a course.

“We need to tie things up,” Burgess said. “The longer we allow the damage to continue unchecked, the worse things are going to be for us.”

Somewhere deep in the heart of the Constitution it reads, “Laws are just obstacles preventing white people from enjoying the freedom to relax around their above-ground pools and eat endless amounts of adult-sized Lunchables.” This is probably the clause they will use to impeach the President. You can't send Obama to the back of the bus, so why not throw him under the bus?

PristinePantalones August 9, 2011 at 11:58 pm

Maybe we should drag him to the back of the bus and then shove and reverse.

Dayum, these feckin' loonies won't rest till they have the man's head on a platter. And they'll happily cut off all four limbs AND their heads just to get it.

Barb August 10, 2011 at 12:07 am

Boehner said, "I got 98% of what I wanted."
If it fails, it is going to be blamed 100% on Obama.

PristinePantalones August 10, 2011 at 12:19 am

It did my bitter, black heart a world of good to see the Rev. Al slap that right offa Pat Robertson's mouf. When he started listing what-all BonerJohn got out of the deal and said, "Y'awl wanted that? I'm surprised. I thought you didn't want any of that stuff," and the big mook just sat there laughing because he couldn't think of what to say.

The fact is, no matter what happens, if it's bad Obama gets the blame, if it's good, the Republicans get the credit. That's how they roll. I wish I could have their guts for garters.

Barb August 9, 2011 at 9:45 pm

“We need to tie things up,” Burgess said." With a noose strung over a cherry blossom tree in DC? When in a pinch, lynch?

PristinePantalones August 9, 2011 at 11:58 pm

Except much more so than, say, Clarence "Uncle" Thomas.

Biel_ze_Bubba August 10, 2011 at 1:20 am

“We need to tie things up.”

No, dickhead, you need to do your fucking job.

comrad_darkness August 9, 2011 at 9:46 pm

Damn that Kenyan Usurper, lying to get us into a 3 Trillion dollar war!

arihaya August 9, 2011 at 11:52 pm

curse that Kenyan, he also lied to us about all of those WMD !

horsedreamer_1 August 10, 2011 at 8:10 am

He was merely taking advantage of the long-standing Kenyan distrust of Niger to claim that the latter was consorting with our enemies.

KenLayIsAlive August 10, 2011 at 11:56 am

Let them eat yellowcake?

Just make sure you use the special CIA napkin when you pick up that stuff.

zhubajie August 9, 2011 at 9:47 pm

Too bad no one impeached the president around 2001.

Rarian Rakista August 9, 2011 at 10:35 pm

or launched him from a trebuchet back to Texas.

Negropolis August 9, 2011 at 10:45 pm

Or prevented him from becoming president in the first place. I'm looking at you, United States Surpreme Court.

comrad_darkness August 10, 2011 at 12:09 pm

"Prevented," are you kidding? That was an appointment, not an election.

PristinePantalones August 9, 2011 at 11:59 pm

From anything, really. I'm not fussy. An elephant's anus would've done just fine.

MonsterAGoGo August 9, 2011 at 11:05 pm

Now now, time to look forward, not back. Forward.

Into the light at the end of the tunnel. What's what loud honking?

arihaya August 9, 2011 at 11:51 pm

two word: Dick Cheney ,,,

come to think about it, since 1988, GOP always choose VP candidates that ensure no one willing to impeach their Presidential candidates,,, (see: Potatoe Quayle, Cheney and Palin)

Biel_ze_Bubba August 10, 2011 at 1:21 am

Never mind '88 … they started with Agnew.

JustPixelz August 10, 2011 at 10:46 am

Eisenhower had Nixon.

Biel_ze_Bubba August 10, 2011 at 11:22 am

Was Nixon obviously a sociopath at the time? (I'm not THAT old, so no recollection.) If people were all "Jeez, I hope nothing happens to Ike", then yeah, we can move the date back… probably lots of examples from the 1800s, actually.

zhubajie August 10, 2011 at 6:17 am

>

Negropolis August 10, 2011 at 11:07 pm

Honestly, stop doing that.

PrimlyStable August 9, 2011 at 9:47 pm

At least they cheerily admit that they think it's reasonable to use impeachment to "tie up" the legislative agenda of a president they don't like. Not quite sure that's what the founding fathers designed the mechanism for, but it's not like teatards are avid fans of the constitution or anything.

NorthStarSpanx August 9, 2011 at 10:03 pm

Seems to me that President Clinton's Administration managed to still get some work done; while Governor Palin's Administration couldn't even keep up with all the 'frivolous' ethics complaints that tied up her ability to govern. . .co-govern, there was Todd also too in there.

MissusBarry August 9, 2011 at 10:19 pm

No snark, this just fucking chaps my ass. "Oh, well, we don't know what we could charge him with, but we'd sure like to waste a shit ton of time and money trying to get rid of him so he can't pursue an agenda of saving the country from idiots like us." Pig fuckers!

tessiee August 10, 2011 at 10:52 pm

Does it make it better or worse that half of them don't understand the difference between "impeach" and "remove from office"?

MissusBarry August 10, 2011 at 10:59 pm

I'm pretty sure they're going with the Machiavellian approach. Which, for the better or worse question leaves us with: six of one, half a dozen if the other.

Guppy06 August 9, 2011 at 11:23 pm

According to the Constitution,he's only 3/5 president.

JustPixelz August 10, 2011 at 10:50 am

You noticed that extra-Constitutional use of impeachment too. For a group of people who claim to love the "plain language of the Constitution", they sure like to piss on it when Obama is standing behind it.

Maman August 9, 2011 at 9:47 pm

This isn't exactly a surprise is it? They were just hoping that they would have him using the 14th Amendment for the debt ceiling debate as their reason. But they will make up shit if they have to.

snoopyfan2010 August 9, 2011 at 10:16 pm

You mean like they have been for the past three years?

Maman August 9, 2011 at 10:36 pm

Exactement!

horsedreamer_1 August 10, 2011 at 8:11 am

You mean, protecting & defending the Constitution of the United States, as he is sworn to (as well as the members of Congress)?

How would abiding an amendment be not to abide, thus to be impeachable?

cheetojeebus August 9, 2011 at 9:48 pm

A truly great Blingee. I know art when i see it and that's art.

SorosBot August 9, 2011 at 9:50 pm

Good idea, teabaggers, because the obviously bullshit impeachment hurt Clinton and helped the House Republicans so much. And that was when he had, at least, gotten a blowjob; they don't even have that on Obama.

Barb August 9, 2011 at 9:57 pm

I was once angry with Bill Clinton and the whole blow job thing. Gas was $1.21 a gallon and people were employed. If this is what happens when you get your wang mouthafied, blow jobs for everyone!

MissusBarry August 9, 2011 at 10:23 pm

An excellent plank for your presidential campaign platform. You'll lock-up the entire male vote…gay or straight, I've never met a dude who isn't into some sucky-sucky. You're a genius.

Barb August 9, 2011 at 10:30 pm

Thanks Missus! Do you get the feeling that Michele Bachmann has those deep crows feet around her eyes from squinting and asking, "you want me to suck WHAT?"

MissusBarry August 9, 2011 at 10:41 pm

Yes. And, on this, I can't say I blame her…the odds there's some santorum residue on it from his last "session" are astronomical. That, in combination with being so stupid and crazy…she must look at things like stop signs and try to puzzle out how they fit into Jeebus' will for her life. Being so befuddled by, well, everything and all those damn voices must result in abnormal amounts of squinting and scrunching up one's face.

Fare la Volpe August 9, 2011 at 10:42 pm

PristinePantalones August 10, 2011 at 12:01 am

You so got my vote.

anniegetyerfun August 10, 2011 at 12:07 am

But you know they THINK about Obama and blow jobs all the time. It's part of why they are so angry.

outragedcitizen August 10, 2011 at 8:00 am

Well, wait. If they doubt his birth certificate then it is a small step to doubt his marriage license which, of course, means that he is living in sin with Michelle. There problem solved. Everybody knows that it's against the Constitution to have sex with someone who is not your wife, except, of course, if you are a Rethug or Teabagger and you are having buttsex with a male escort.

I really didn't need to know that but thanks anyway.

widget2011 August 10, 2011 at 8:48 am

That's actually debatable. if you count the ones on top of their shoulders, with the 10 gallon hat counting as the "head", then they may be # 1 in penis size.

Biel_ze_Bubba August 10, 2011 at 1:41 am

This is ass-hatters disease. There's a hereditary component, and a geographic correlation, but in general scientists remain baffled. Federal funding for research has, of course, been slashed.

a clever idea the Teabaggers have come up with to make sure President Obama stops getting his way

Oh please, oh please let them try it. Apparently they haven't yet realized that they are a veritable Cirque du Soleil of Fail. This should pretty much do it.

Swampgas_Man August 10, 2011 at 8:58 am

Maybe an impeachment would FINALLY convince him these people can't be reasoned with? Maybe he'd start throwing some elbows?

tessiee August 10, 2011 at 11:21 pm

Or, and I'm just sayin' here, it could result in…
President Biden.

Buckminster August 10, 2011 at 12:17 pm

"Cirque du Soleil of Fail." We have a winner!

Frost/Nixon/Robocop August 9, 2011 at 9:51 pm

Can you impeach anyone under the Articles of Confederation?

JustPixelz August 10, 2011 at 10:52 am

In that scenario, Obama would be "tried" as a runaway.

Negropolis August 10, 2011 at 11:04 pm

Zing!

Rotundo_ August 9, 2011 at 9:51 pm

Jeez, Dubya lied us into a couple of wars, drove the deficit through the roof and ignored warnings that Bin Laden was going to hit US airliners and we let that slide. And these guys want to impeach Obama "on accounta we wanna"? I have to hand it to them, they have big brass balls. No intellectual functioning whatsoever, but big brass balls, bigger'n church bells. I'm thinking we are indeed headed for a fascist shitstorm. Hope the rich don't get any on them.

mumbly_joe August 9, 2011 at 10:47 pm

Don't forget the thing where he tortured American citizens! That's the one, even beyond the thing where he turned the US into a torture regime, that always gets me. Even the wingnutty argument that we should totally be able to torture people because non-citizens don't have "rights" sort of falls in the face of torturing American citizens.

Crank_Tango August 10, 2011 at 12:29 am

funny how they act like they have such giant balls, yet they are all scared shitless of a few fatties with teabags hanging from their tricorn hats.

Yep, and they are periodically on display, right under those Jesus licence plates, the're called truk-nutz. Jesus must be so proud, that most (if not all) of his followers are morans! To me The Bible = Fairy Tales, but to Texas, it's called science (intelligent design). Unfortunatnatly, Kentucky is competing with Texas for the "Dumbest state in the Union" title.

Exhibit A: Rand Paul

Exhibit B: The Creationist Museaum (and no, I'm not making this shit up)

Exhibit C: Did you ever talk to anyone intelligent from Kentucky? (I'm sure they exist, but I haven't met one yet).

I rest my case.

ifthethunderdontgetya August 9, 2011 at 9:52 pm

When asked about the comment later, Burgess said he wasn’t sure whether the proper charges to bring up articles of impeachment against Obama were there, but he didn’t rule out pursuing such a course.

Come on, that's how they do it in Texass. You can always make up some "charges" later, just so the "lawyers" can be happy.

Callyson August 9, 2011 at 9:55 pm

Impeach! Impeach!
(What? I want Obama to win next year, and if this economy does indeed die this is the best route to that outcome…)

LetUsBray August 9, 2011 at 9:57 pm

I keep hoping they'll finally piss the prez off to the point that he'll fight back. I'm a bit puzzled it takes so much to get the man angry, but it can happen; just ask the Saudi terrorist mastermind with the extra-large, smoldering eye socket.

The Dow climbs 429 today and these clowns get apoplectic with hate and rage. Go figure.

LetUsBray August 9, 2011 at 10:04 pm

They hate America. They hate it because it's full of gheys and messicans and mooslims and women who want nothing to do with them and black people, one of whom has been elected president. So naturally they're enraged their nasty old god who hates all the same things they do hasn't smote it yet.

Sue4466 August 9, 2011 at 10:10 pm

And yet, they claim the title "patriot." Fuckers. Every last one of them.

BerkeleyBear August 9, 2011 at 11:05 pm

Yeah, but that's only because they secretly wanna be Tom Brady's boy bitches. It has about as much to do with the origninal meaning of the term as the original Tea Partiers had to do with Native Americans.

snoopyfan2010 August 9, 2011 at 10:22 pm

snoopyfan2010 August 10, 2011 at 1:10 pm

Ah, but there's a twist! The Master also told them the story about the Samaratan when they asked "Who is my neighbor?". Even then, it was good to talk to the poor and unloved. If only Christians would take their religion back, the human race might stand a chance.

tribbzthesquidz August 9, 2011 at 10:38 pm

Treason is downright trendy these days. They probably cheer that marine body count too 'cause it's bad for Obama. Any body count is good news when you're a refucklican.

CalamityJames August 9, 2011 at 11:32 pm

When he named SEAL Team 6 for getting OBL, Obama told terrorists around the world whom to attack.

Guppy06 August 9, 2011 at 11:40 pm

Would they rather he'd given credit to the French Foreign Legion?

horsedreamer_1 August 10, 2011 at 9:33 am

This is the second time in two days I have gotten "The Ballad of the Sin-Eater" stuck in my head after reading a Wonkette comment.

glamourdammerung August 9, 2011 at 11:40 pm

As I said in the other thread, I think the issue is that the only folks I see claiming to be in SEAL Team 6 are Breitards and their ilk.

anniegetyerfun August 10, 2011 at 12:10 am

Yes, because mentioning the name Seal Team 6 is virtually identical to handing over their coordinates, amiright? They're bloody NAVY SEALS. Mentioning the name of their squadron means nada. You could call them the Fluffy Bunny Contingent for all they care.

God, these schmucks.

LetUsBray August 10, 2011 at 1:33 pm

Granted, announcing bin Laden had been blown away by the Fluffy Bunny Contingent would have been pretty awesome.

ndisang67 August 10, 2011 at 4:55 pm

that i agree…the problem dems are having is that we have been too successful…especially with the big 3, the bedrock of the middle class in the nation. Do they even know that without these programs they'd be living in cardboard boxes? No they don't. When something works, everyone takes it for granted. I would love the day teatards succeed in dismantling them…then just get some pop corn, lay back and watch teatards engage in teatard-cannibalism….

"Do they even know that without these programs they'd be living in cardboard boxes? No they don't. "

I almost — I said ALMOST — wish they would succeed in getting one of their guys in office, because they'd suffer along with the rest of us. Of course, a) they'd take us down with them and b) they'd rationalize how it was everybody and anybody else's fault (as they did with Bush), so it really wouldn't be worth it.

These guys get to shout "You Lie" on the esteemed House floor in a televised State of the State address, terrorize, illegally detain and even physically assault the 'opposition' at Health Care town hall meetings and blow a bullet into a Congresswoman's brain at a standard Meet & Greet.

But they don't like the idea that Obama gets his way?

Granted, he doesn't get everything effortlessly handed to him, the way Bush did, but the President, any President, is the leader of his country, and therefore is in a position of authority — so yeah, he gets his way.

johnnyzhivago August 9, 2011 at 10:17 pm

I have a friend I've known for about 20 years, he's in his 80's and I've never had much of a political conversation with him. However he always mutters complaints about liberals and taxes, etc… Today however he was almost seething about the "downgrade", and I'm all "here it comes, Obama's fault". Well, no. He said he is a lifetime republican, but was totally ashamed of his party. He said he listened to Obama on TV last week (I guess) and he said he simply couldn't understand why the Republicans couldn't show him more respect and move to a compromise.

He then said he planned to vote against anything Republican until the Tea Party was gone – and interestingly he characterized them as "younger people who don't care about social security".

It was interesting….

NorthStarSpanx August 9, 2011 at 10:36 pm

I know we joke about it, but not all baggers are poor, obese, diabetic scooter riders, they are people we rub elbows with everyday, people I've known for years that all of a sudden say they wouldn't mind a little sulfer in their children's drinking water with all the benefits fracking will bring, and that even though their wives are teachers, don't see what's wrong with diverting our public dollars into homeschooling or non-secular programs.

Jukesgrrl August 9, 2011 at 11:10 pm

Scary, ain't it? People you know damn well can walk and chew gum at the same time and these are the conclusions they come to? And what we need is LESS public education?

Radiotherapy® August 9, 2011 at 11:23 pm

Of course, the head teabaggers are never, no, nada taxes Dick Armies. Hate Obama and "the government" with a dash of racism and that's who really runs teabag party.

ifthethunderdontgetya August 9, 2011 at 10:39 pm

…and interestingly he characterized them as "younger people who don't care about social security".

Speaking of which, one of the three Democratic Senators to be chosen for the 12 members of "Super Congress" is…Max Baucus.

Few of "our" representatives in D.C. are interested in preserving Social Security. We can't stiff the Chinese, because we need to keep borrowing from them.

So the olds are gonna get it in the shorts, because we also can't stop shoveling money into the banking/insurance/war machine. Or they'll get mad and fire the "representative(s) of the people" responsible.

So here you go, you might as well play this George Carlin clip for your friend.
~

BerkeleyBear August 9, 2011 at 11:13 pm

I've been trying to figure out why the fuck ole Max is allowed anywhere near legislation after the debacle he was in the healthcare process. I've concluded it is because he's gonna be a dick no matter what, he's got the committee clout to tie shit up anyways, so Reid figures he'll get the shit end of the stick process started early. Sucks, but unless he, Cen Nelson and the others are on board we ain't getting shit done.

imissopus August 10, 2011 at 12:14 am

Yeah, he's head of the Finance Committee, so whatever cuts they come up with go through him anyway. I'm heartened by Patty Murray, though. She's apparently pretty sharp and pretty tough.

He's 80. Everyone is younger.

I guess he loves socialism enough to want to keep Social Security.

tessiee August 11, 2011 at 10:05 am

"he listened to Obama on TV last week (I guess) and he said he simply couldn't understand why the Republicans couldn't show him more respect and move to a compromise. "

No offense to your friend, but, really? He *really* can't understand why a group composed almost entirely of old-money, ruling-class pricks and ignorant rednecks don't show more respect to an "uppity nigger" who's trying to break their stranglehold on the country?

johnnyzhivago August 11, 2011 at 10:14 am

I didn't try to get too deeply into the conversation, or I would have been there all day! I just thought it was interesting though that he seemed to listen to what was going on and came away believing Obama was the only one who made sense… :)

The thing that makes me saddest is that this is all one huge projection of the right wing, screeching about how Obama is essentially a dictator (ie: hitler, stalin associations) and that his agenda, which was chosen by a majority of this country's voting citizens, is illegitimate. Even when he agrees with them (which is too fucking often), he's still wrong! It's the damnest thing!

And yet the whole time, they are distorting the message so effectively to cover up their own more adverse effects on a government they barely pretend to care about. Effects that are a: true and b: make me wanna punch a banker in the face.

to actually quote sir elton:

"Do you know what that means? Rude vile pigs. That's what all of you are."

Rotundo_ August 10, 2011 at 5:55 am

That would require honesty, something that doesn't *usually* combine with racism or ignorance. They all do little dances on the boundary of admitting racism, but oddly enough, they don't seem to want to go all in and scream it for fear of seeming out of the mainstream. If the consequences weren't so tragic, it would be fun to watch them do their little denial dances around the truth. Unfortunately the damages have been, and will continue to pile up.

DemonicRage August 9, 2011 at 10:53 pm

There would be a kind of alternate universe logic to impeaching the President at this point. First we were threatened with downgrading and worse if we didn't go along with the Republican demands. We gave into them, but we got downgraded anyway, maybe even because of the spectacle of giving into them. Then there was the threat of Impeachment if the Prez tried to raise the debt limit on his own. He didn't do it. So he gets Impeached anyway, just like the nation's rating got lowered, anyway.

Alberta Darling (R) is closing in on her challenger in Wisconsin. My stomach is actually turning. Republicans have defended 3 of the six, thus far, and the Dems have definitively won 1 of the six, with the Dems NARROWLY leading in the other two.

Dems need three to retake their senate, and anything less than winning at least two of these would be a huge symbolic setback. Here's to hoping for the last two to pull these out.

Limeylizzie August 9, 2011 at 11:25 pm

Fukui_sanYesOta August 10, 2011 at 12:18 am

OT but typical:

On Friday, Fox News' Fox Nation website was forced to shut down comments on a post that referred to President Obama's 50th birthday party as a "Hip-Hop BBQ," after receiving many submissions that were racist. "We found many of the comments to be offensive and inappropriate and they have been removed," Bill Shine, the executive vice president of Fox News programming, told The Cutline on Friday.

The response followed a similar incident late last month, when Fox News' Facebook page received a deluge of hateful comments after Blair Scott, the communications director for American Atheists, appeared as a guest on Fox's "America Live" to discuss the group's lawsuit seeking to halt the inclusion of a crucifix at the World Trade Center Memorial.

The network deleted the post after identifying more than 200 threatening comments–including death threats aimed at Scott. Fox News has more than 2.2 million Facebook fans.

Maybe some Wisconsin dems have grown spines:

12:16 AM: State Dem chair Mike Tate claims "tampering" in Waukesha vote count reports that put Darling (R) over the top. This is the same county and clerk who generated such controversy in the recent Supreme Court election in Wisconsin. And she does seem to have some very archaic methods of reporting votes. But I have yet to see any evidence of irregularities tonight. The state party says in a press release that "in the next hours we will determine our next course of action."

glamourdammerung August 10, 2011 at 12:48 am

How many times is this lady going to pull the same crap before something gets done about it?

Fukui_sanYesOta August 10, 2011 at 12:54 am

I thought that Supreme Court election bullshit would be enough to nail her, but apparently not. This time something needs to be done, if she's fucking with the votes. It sounds like she's managed to subvert the audit process enough that she can't get caught, unfortunately.

glamourdammerung August 10, 2011 at 12:57 am

Magically pulling votes out of her arse every single election is more than enough reason to get rid of her, especially as this issue was brought up way before the "oops, I found a few thousand votes" nonsense.

Fukui_sanYesOta August 10, 2011 at 1:02 am

That's the thing, isn't it? She was busted for no audit before the 15000 votes shit and didn't change anything.

Everyone is almost certain she's scamming, but proving it without sufficient audit processes is virtually impossible.

I remember something similar with the Diebold tabulation software, where someone found out that the vote aggregation ran through Access – with no checks. So, if you knew what you were doing, you could easily bump numbers – and with no paper audit, you never find it.

Article 2:Section 4. US Constitution.

Merriam-Webster.

NOT!!!!!

Impeachment- CRYING AND BITCHING THAT THE PREZ HAS MORE MELATONIN THAN ME
Tea-party.

Negropolis August 10, 2011 at 8:40 am

Melanin. Melatonin is what helps you sleep. :)

baconzgood August 10, 2011 at 8:42 am

OOPS! I'm Irish and have bouts of insomnia….so I have neither.

mumbly_joe August 10, 2011 at 9:43 am

You and your "law enforcement approach" to impeachment is what's Making America Weak. Clearly what America really needs is to use impeachment as a political tool, perhaps to set up a military dictatorship so we can use military commissions instead.

For, you know, freedom, and to protect American values and Democracy, from Obama, who is the one who's the anti-American usurper in this scenario, in case you're confused.

Camaro Nova August 10, 2011 at 8:20 am

In teatard, "impeachment" translates as "replace the president with the governor of Texas" doesn't it? Rock out to your new preznits anthem http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iz_SChZA9bM

not that Dewey August 10, 2011 at 8:58 am

AAAHHHRRRGG!! What the hell was that?

That's the worst kind of reverse-rickrolling, and will no longer be permitted on these pages.

randcoolcatdaddy August 10, 2011 at 8:45 am

"When one attendee suggested that the House push for impeachment proceedings against President Obama to obstruct the president from pushing his agenda, Burgess was receptive."

Does Obama have an agenda besides making sure my 401K isn't worth anything?

Negropolis August 10, 2011 at 8:54 am

Well, like most other presidents (and American politicians in general), his current agenda has become simple political survival, actual governing be damned, which is kind of understandable when you're dealing with something like the tea party, whose very singular goal is to remove him from the White House.

Sorry about the lack of snark, but the government is in a holding pattern, at the moment. It's really too bad the president has figured out how to use his power and/or influence to manuever himself out of the corner he's been driven into time and time again by the GOP. I mean, Dubya was largely confined from fucking up shit worse than he already had after he lost the congress in 2006, but at least he still was able to project that he was the nation's leader.

johnnyzhivago August 10, 2011 at 9:18 am

Friedman forgot to take his medicine last night, will someone please catch him and get him back in his padded cell:

Well, the teabaggers think they don't have to pay taxes if they don't like how the money is used and they think public transportation should wait on their every whim even while they refuse to pay for it, and are scared to death of sharia law anytime a Muslim person breathes while they are instituting Christian sharia law (or trying their best) … this is actually consistent.

horsedreamer_1 August 10, 2011 at 9:43 am

Say what you will about selective payment of taxes, but Maggie Gyllenhaal's baker in Stranger than Fiction was all kinds of hot.

smitallica August 10, 2011 at 10:13 am

It is a true sign of hate-fueled insanity when these teabaggers can look at the steaming shit sandwich their ilk in Congress just forced down our throats and see it as the black guy "getting his way."
Fuck them. Fuck them all.

smashaduck August 10, 2011 at 10:28 am

Now I get it. Keynesian sounds too much like Kenyan.

Buckminster August 10, 2011 at 12:24 pm

Burgess needs a quick boot to the head followed by a tar and feathering.

ttommyunger August 10, 2011 at 2:14 pm

My biggest pleasure is watching these ignorant fucks twist in the wind over Barry, knowing I spent eight long years doing the exact same thing while their boy Dubya was driving my Country to ruin.

NickDanger007 August 10, 2011 at 2:47 pm

Is surprised Obama hasn't impeached himself yet, to reach a compromise.

BZ1 August 10, 2011 at 3:14 pm

impeachment just a handy little device to "tie things up,” said the town fool…

Barb August 9, 2011 at 10:44 pm

Fare, "is it in yet,Marcus?"

BerkeleyBear August 9, 2011 at 11:02 pm

I suddenly envisioned Marcus using a tear dropper attached to a ten foot pole to inseminate her and yelling "Yes, Dear" in response to that question.

Biel_ze_Bubba August 10, 2011 at 1:24 am

"Don't wake me when you're done, Marcus, or I'll kill you."

Limeylizzie August 9, 2011 at 11:03 pm

I think there is a better than 50% chance we can win these 3. They have just called another one for Republicans, but it's looking good for the other 3.

Limeylizzie August 9, 2011 at 11:09 pm

Kapanke beaten and recalled!!!!

glamourdammerung August 9, 2011 at 11:04 pm

That is what "finding" 15,000 or so votes like the Supreme Court race is for.

Barb August 9, 2011 at 11:15 pm

I envision Marcus finishing up his business and then running and bending in front of her and saying, "your turn."

MissusBarry August 9, 2011 at 11:17 pm

I guess I'm just greedy, I wanted to see the rethugs get destroyed in landslides. I am, however, glad for each victory.

PristinePantalones August 10, 2011 at 12:26 am

I fall on your neck with grateful kisses (and lust, of course).

Limeylizzie August 9, 2011 at 11:23 pm

This is why all the slamming of Barry makes me crazy, can you imagine next year if he loses to Rick Perry or Mittens?

Limeylizzie August 9, 2011 at 11:38 pm

King is ahead with 97% reporting now. It looks like #2 for the Dems.

MissusBarry August 9, 2011 at 11:26 pm

Perish the thought!

Limeylizzie August 9, 2011 at 11:41 pm

Just called district 18 for Jessica King and Pasch is now 4 points ahead of Alberta Darling with 67% in.

Negropolis August 9, 2011 at 11:46 pm

Gawd. I'm hearing that Waukesha County is still dragging its feet. This isn't looking good.

ProgressiveInga August 9, 2011 at 11:48 pm

Uh-oh.

cheetojeebus August 10, 2011 at 12:01 am

Looks like it's down to fucking waukesha county again. Great.

Fukui_sanYesOta August 10, 2011 at 12:16 am

King has it, and the Pasch race is close. Come on teabaggers, get fucked.

Limeylizzie August 10, 2011 at 12:05 am

Is that where that idiotic, cheating bitch is the County Clerk?

Limeylizzie August 10, 2011 at 12:11 am

Alberta Darling now 4 points ahead.

cheetojeebus August 10, 2011 at 12:12 am

Why yes. Her. does her 'computin' at home on a fukkin Commodore 64.

Limeylizzie August 10, 2011 at 12:16 am

Are you in Wisconsin?

cheetojeebus August 10, 2011 at 12:17 am

Well, Hopefully Milwaukee will pull it back. She's already being accused of fraud btw, some hanky panky with votes from Menomonee Falls.

Fukui_sanYesOta August 10, 2011 at 12:20 am

11:59 PM: A BIG chunk of Republican votes just came in from Waukesha County. Big pick up for Darling (R). That will put Darling into a clear lead and then it's going to be down to remaining votes in Milwaukee.

Negropolis August 10, 2011 at 12:21 am

There isn't anything else to be counted but Waukesha, right? If that's the case, unfortunately, Pasch is through.

cheetojeebus August 10, 2011 at 12:21 am

nah, headin to bed in PA. Just itchin for some fukkin schadenfreude post debt-ceiling-clusterfuck.

Ducksworthy August 10, 2011 at 10:06 am

Another miracle! How does Waukesha County keep doing it?

GunToting[Redacted] August 10, 2011 at 10:22 am

Me? Honestly, I'd have no idea where she would be going with that.

Biel_ze_Bubba August 10, 2011 at 11:08 am

A prick doctor who wants to treat only his fellow pricks.

Different approach, as it were, but same result.

Andrew Drinker August 10, 2011 at 12:20 pm

Aaron Burr, anyone?
