Sarah Palin’s Evil Socialist State Film Subsidy Funded ‘Sarah Palin’s Alaska’

In case you missed it, small government crusader and Tea Party favorite Sarah Palin’s TLC reality show “Sarah Palin’s Alaska” received a $1.2 million subsidy from the state of Alaska. The show spent $3.6 million on production in the state, meaning that Alaskan taxpayers covered a third of the cost of the show.

Sarah Palin may have quit her job, but that doesn’t mean she can’t still force her state to pay her a salary.

More importantly, is immoral Hollywood lamestream teevee funded by socialism what Alaska really needs? It could be using that money to drill endangered species for oil. [Tax Foundation]

That cunt has figured out more ways to grift off the public dime than anyone I know….I imagine she used food stamps to pay for Bristols teen-preggers house also.

    1. horsedreamer_1

      What… is your QUEST?

To find any & all means of sustaining oneself that are beyond the pale!

        1. horsedreamer_1

Feminist, also, since almost all the female performers were "on top" (cowgirl), thus better controlling the arc of their pleasure.

  2. freakishlywrong

It matters not one whit when socializms benefit wingnuts. See: Michelle, (crazy pants), Bachmann/Ag subsidiez. Hypocrittin' is easy, fer the shameless.

  3. bumfug

Her latest statement: "Normally I would be against this sort of government waste, but this was me."

  4. Callyson

This is only the beginning: Palin's next move will be to claim that her show increased tourism to Alaska, and demand a cut of the profits from the cruise ships and hotels in the state for services rendered.

    1. JustPixelz

Please don't use the phrase "services rendered" with Sarah Palin™. Grandma Palin hasn't done anything of value for the past 100 years. Also, makes me think of naughty things.

    1. horsedreamer_1

She's a job-creator. Granted, all the jobs filled for her show — camera operators, drivers, etc. — came to Alaska from other states, but, yeah…

      1. Tundra Grifter

JustPixelz: If you want to have some fun, go on one of the right wing nutsites like "Newsbusters" and point out that Duh Guv'Nor pushed through Socialism.

During her administration (well, half-administration) they passed a "windfall profits tax" on oil companies doing business in the state. As the price of oil rises, so does the tax. This is an addition to the existing oil royalty trust fund.

The state of Alaska takes that money and directly distributes it to the citizens of the State. The oil companies deduct those payments as a business expense, lower their Federal income tax burden (if any) and the citizens of the remaining 49 states subsidizes them because our national government collects less revenue.

Point this out and you'll get some very funny answers – nobody, however, will admit this is pure Socialism.

  5. SorosBot

But the show did perform an important service for Alaska by advertising the state for tourism to TLC viewers; that's why it's now filled with middle-aged housewives who are obsessed with cakes and babies.

  6. nounverb911

"Sarah Palin may have quit her job, but that doesn’t mean she can’t still force her state to pay her a salary. "
Mmmmmm, blackmail! She must have the dirt on someone.

  7. ManchuCandidate

Considering that show tanked and made the Snow Queen of Twats look like an unbearable self involved phony to many of her base of fucktards, I think It was money well spent.

    1. SorosBot

Didn't some of her insane base abandon her because an episode showed that she didn't know how to use a rifle? That's an insane reason to abandon a politician, but it helped her current slide to political irrelevance that should have happened long before.

      1. ManchuCandidate

It is a stupid reason, but they also happen to be stupid people. After watching her for two years, I seriously question the intelligence/competence of anyone who actually thinks she'd be a good leader of anything.

  8. weejee

Aw gee, these monies let Lou Sarah's thoughts take wing. Perhaps she should earn her for realz wings as the pilot of a Tomahawk cruise missile?

  9. edgydrifter

Tax records also show "Deadliest Catch" cost $1.7 million to film in AK last season, which was a whopping $1.9 million LESS than the production costs for "Sarah Palin's Alaska." Huh? One might wonder how Queen Griftula's show could possibly cost so much to make, but only if one had no idea who Sarah Palin is or how she operates.

  10. Redhead

She already gets subsidies from the government because of oil drilling, and her grandchild is on government healthcare (Medicaid! gasp).

She says whatever she thinks will get her more air time and therefore, more money. Greedy ignorant ass is greedy, ignorant of what she's saying. Shocking.

  11. prommie

Its not socialist to give government subsidies to corporations or the wealthy, thats "capitalism." Its only when the government gives money to the poor that its socialist. Think of it this way: Robin Hood = Socialist Marxist Fascist Kenyan; Dennis Moore (steals from the poor, gives to the rich, stupid git) = fine upstanding Conservative Christian Capitalist.

  12. prommie

    To put it another way:

Everybody knows that the dice are loaded
Everybody rolls with their fingers crossed
Everybody knows that the war is over
Everybody knows the good guys lost
Everybody knows the fight was fixed
The poor stay poor, the rich get rich
    That's how it goes
    Everybody knows

  13. mavenmaven

But it was good for the people of Alaska because when they promote the Will of the Leader, they promote the Will of the Volk.

  14. Gopherit

Why that sneaky socialist. I should have known she was a gov't teat sucker by how shitty a shot she was. 5 shots to take down a caribou? WTF? Was it deaf or was it Trig Caribou?

  15. glamourdammerung

I hope the teabagger crowd does not start threatening Palin.

We all know how much they hate welfare queens.

  16. RedneckMuslin

"It could be using that money to drill endangered species "

    Dinosaurs are already extinct.

  17. chascates

The Perpetual Victim just posted her defense:
One final thought: having to set the record straight on my Facebook page yet again is further proof that the media can’t be trusted even to print a statement in a manner that people can read.

  18. MinAgain

I'm looking forward to the sequel, "Sarah Palin's Alaska: Season of the Hillbilly Grifter".

  19. EdFlintstone

I can see how that would really benefit Alaskan tourism. I always wanted to go on a halibut clubbing vacation.

  20. ttommyunger

Waiting for the Sequel: "Sarah Palin's Private Hell". I almost feel sorry for this wormy cunt and her gaggle of misfits.

  21. MegPasadena

You forgot to mention that the subsidy is based on a bill that she helped sign into law when she was the governor.
