Four-star Army Gen. Peter Chiarelli -- the No. 2 general in the U.S. Army -- says he is absolutely not offended that Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett mistook him for a waiter at a fancy Washington dinner this week and asked him for a glass of wine. [...]
"It was an honest mistake that ANYONE could have made. She was sitting, I was standing and walking behind her and all she saw were the two stripes on my pants which were almost identical to the waiters pants -- REALLY. She apologized and will come to the house for dinner if a date can be worked out in March," Chiarelli wrote in an e-mail.
It's troubling that our generals think they should USE THE CAPS LOCK to make their points. It's a TERRIBLE crutch that really begins to GRATE on your READERS and ACTUALLY ends up DILUTING the point you are TRYING to make . Also: sometimes you should use apostrophes.
But anyway: Isn't it kooky when something that's not among the most mundane events in our crushing human existence happens in D.C.? [ CNN ]
Since the General is white, he was just pleasantly surprised she hadn't asked for "more M'F'ing Chardonnay" though.
Yes, but he invaded France or California or some other wine country to get it though.
