This is how you know you're unpopular:
Tennesseans in general give their Muslim neighbors higher approval ratings than their elected lawmakers, the latest poll from Middle Tennessee State University revealed.
"When you see news footage of hundreds of people protesting on the courthouse steps, it's awfully easy to conclude that all Tennesseans are violently opposed to Muslims," said professor Ken Blake, director of the MTSU poll that came out on Thursday. "That's not what we found."
I take my Dollywoods as I find 'em.
"32 percent of those surveyed supported the idea that Muslims should have to register their whereabouts with the government"
Register muslins not guns.
We accept the risks, injuries and deaths that come with certain liberties. Wanna save lives? Lower speed limits, tax bullets, quarantine HIV positive, ban all cigarettes. We don't do those things because they offend our sense of freedom. But religion -- that most sacrosanct part of our identity -- is seen by 32% of Tennesseans as cause to create virtual concentration camps.
