Bill Clinton showed up in Minnesota the other night to do a fundraiser for Tarryl Clark. As reported by Joe Conason, he didn't have nicest words for our pal and Clark's opponent Michele Bachmann. Or, as Bachmann put it in an e-mail targeted straight at the hearts of her wingnut lovers, "This week, while hosting a fundraiser for my opponent Tarryl Clark, Bill Clinton attacked me personally. Not only did he refer to me as 'stupid,' but he accused me of 'putting ideology over evidence.'" WHAT? Calm down, Michele. Are you sure someone could say something so very accurate about you?
"That’s how I see Rep. Bachmann. She’s very attractive in saying all these things she says, but it’s pretty stupid."
She's very attractive when she says this? To each his own, we guess. Or to everything Bill Clinton's own.
"Your opponent," he told Clark, "is the ultimate example of putting ideology over evidence."
"I respect people with a conservative philosophy," he continued. "This country has been well-served by having two broad traditions within which people can operate. If you have a philosophy, it means you’re generally inclined one way or the other but you're open to evidence. If you have an ideology, it means everything is determined by dogma and you're impervious to evidence. Evidence is irrelevant."
That is a very, very good summary of this bullshit. Wow.
Take it away, Bachmann e-mail.
I am proud of my record and I refuse to be bullied into silence by Bill Clinton. Liberals across the country believe if they defeat me in November, the Tea Party movement will be eliminated.
ELIMINATED? No! We must all send our Social Security checks to our nice young heroine Michele. Sure, we may not be able to afford our food or medication, but if they eliminate the Tea Party, we will be dead.
Clinton, Pelosi, Obama and the rest of the liberal establishment are in panic mode as Tea Party candidates across the country rise up against their socialist government.
Wait, you just said you were in panic mode, Michele. Liberals think they have you and the Teabaggers on the verge of defeat, right? But also they and their socialist republic are on the verge of defeat? If a mysterious THIRD force came in, they would obviously win very easily. What could be worse than socialist Muslin black people? Well, we don't WANT to know.
Every day, we get word of a new leftist organization dumping money into my race. We just got word this morning that Big Labor is contacting voters in my district with misleading statements attacking me.
Oh, Big Labor. That organization. That's the knock-off version of Big Lots, we think. [ Salon ]
Bill Clinton Calls Bachmann 'Stupid,' Helps Bachmann Smartly Raise Money
"She’s very attractive in saying all these things she says, but it’s pretty stupid.”
WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN?
He was probably thinking "3-way."
