Judge Rules Virginia Is Not For Health-Care Lovers

by Jack Stuef  3:06 pm August 2, 2010

Ha ha, dogs hate being alive.U.S. District Court Judge Henry E. Hudson refused today to dismiss a lawsuit filed by Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli II, against the federal health-care reform law, so opponents of health care will now have their day in court. “While this case raises a host of complex constitutional issues, all seem to distill to the single question of whether or not Congress has the power to regulate — and tax — a citizen’s decision not to participate in interstate commerce,” Hudson wrote in his opinion, discussing the merit of Bristol and Levi’s big split. So is this the end of health care as we almost knew it?

No. This is actually pretty boring, but this sort of thing is IMPORTANT NEWS for a dead time like early August, so there you go. The Obama administration was like, “Meh, whatever, not like they’re actually going to rule against it.” And the people bringing the suit were like, “Yeah, alright. We have enough of a case for them to at least hear it.” But then also some baby fell dead of untreated leukemia on a sidewalk.

So the Supreme Court will eventually have a fun time with this, eh? Who’s ready to blackmail Anthony Kennedy?! [WP]

So long as it’s alive, they have hopes. Treating the Virginia attorney general as if he were a human, much less an attorney, is a huge mistake.

Listen, you pinko commie liberal freaks, THIS is not legislating from the bench. This is constitutionalism at its finest. That’s what mah tricorner tinfoil hat tells me, anyhoo.

Keep fisting that Virgina, Cooch.

Once the elections are over with the new GOP-led House can repeal all of the Constitutional amendments and Obama’s achievements and the wingnut states can secede and the top 1% of Americans will tell the other 99% what to do.

And we won’t be able to fight wars overseas or help anyone here so it’ll just be like it was in the olden days. The 1200s.

Isn’t the Virginia AG the one who keeps filing nuisance suits against climatologists for pointing out the existence of global warming? If so, it’s no wonder he’s being a position-abusing dick here too.

Well, since dogs demand privatized care and dogs eat poop, so does that mean that Teabaggers, who demand privatized care, eat poop?

Pretty sure it does.

Katydid August 2, 2010 at 3:18 pm

Oh, and this is totally different from the Obama DOJ challenging Arizona’s anti-brown law. How, I don’t know, but it is.

BlueStateLiberal August 2, 2010 at 3:21 pm

That dog is RIGHT, we do need to reform healthcare for our returning veterans of war. Why do teatards hate the soldiers?!?

SayItWithWookies August 2, 2010 at 3:21 pm

Of course this is a major victory for the Republicans — seeing as Ken Cuccinelli has the legal perspicacity of your average toad, it’s a great leap forward for poisonous amphibians everywhere.

Henry Hudson is a judge now? Those old explorers have a long shelf life.

Extemporanus August 2, 2010 at 3:27 pm

[re=630475]SmutBoffin[/re]: That reminds me of an old joke:

Q: Why do Teabaggers lick their own TruckNutz?

A: Because they can.

So, does this mean I can get rid of my pesky communist car insurance?

Radiotherapy August 2, 2010 at 3:29 pm

Apparently, the The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) did not go far enough in entrenching the insurance companies, Cooch is just making sure that individualswho can’t obtain health care coverage continue to do so.

[re=630493]Extemporanus[/re]: Darn it, I think I messed that up.

The worst thing about Cuccinelli, although there are many awful things about this man, is that whenever I hear him speak to any sort of journalist he tries to play his actions as being non political and in keeping with his position. Hearing him try to bullshit Kojo Nnamdi a few months ago was priceless as Kojo and one of his regular guests, I think Ken Sherwood, just keep responding with complete disbelief that this asshole thought he was fooling anyone by claiming to be “doing just his job”.

He’s a total dickhead.

Nothing matters but keeping Democratic majorities in congress. All the rest is commentary.

Lionel Hutz Esq. August 2, 2010 at 3:52 pm

$20 says that Greta Van Sustren will spend at least 15 minutes on this tonight, discussing why this proves that the Obama administration are commie losers.

[re=630489]just pixels[/re]: Ernie Hudson is a judge! Only in Obama’s America would an unqualified actor get a seat on the bench just because he’s black. I mean, I loved Ghostbusters as much as anyone, but these affirmative-action reparations are destroying the country I grew up in and replacing it with black-Hitler, Hollyweird-style socialism, and it’s time any right-minded Patriots stand up…

… wait, what? Henry? Henry Hudson? Oh. Well, I think my point still stands.

Broken Malice Machine August 2, 2010 at 8:05 pm

[re=630476]Katydid[/re]: Well I’d say the difference here is the SB1070 law clearly violates the constitution and other previous rulings pertaining to foreign affairs (i.e. states can’t negotiate treaties with other nations or set 50 different immigration policies…in your face, Lou Dobbs!) while this suit is essentially pulled out of some wormhole located in the Cooch’s asshole (Duh the Gubment can’t make somebody buy a product! What does congress thank they can do, regulate commerce?!?). The language here is pretty clear too, but wingnuts being the “constitutionalists” still despise anything in the constitution that doesn’t fit their agenda. Oh and we’ll get to see many more “conservative George Washington’s” and Ben Franklins as wingnuts strut their totally not gay cosplay stuff for this court session. I for one am looking forward to the Cooch dressing up as real ‘merikan hero Nathan Bedford Forrest at the next wingnut gala/fapping to St. Ronnie the “not a Messiah”. God damn you Reagan 1000 times for pulling these racist bigots from the shithole civil rights shoved them down and giving them a place of prominence…okay, time to make that trip to piss on his grave again….

Is that two dogs in a dog suit?

Geogre August 2, 2010 at 8:58 pm

[re=630476]Katydid[/re]: Interstate Commerce clause as opposed to “Tenther” bullshit.
